This is not for those who think the past history is worthless when talking about a new year and a new team but its just a little harmless genuine interesting look at the history of the Patriots in NFL/AFL years that ended with a '0'

1960 - Pats team 5-9 finish 4th in division
1970 - Pats team 2-12 finish last in division
1980 - Pats team 10-6 finish 2nd in division
1990 - Pats team 1-15 finish last in division
2000 - Pats team 5-11 finish last in division

Some will look at this and say its dumb and means nothing and you may well be right, some will say Belichick will never have those sort of records as above as long as he is coach here.

Some will say its really irrelevant and a waste of a thread and deserves one star rating.

But one thing you have to also say,the Pats in history regardless of coaches, players and owners have been horrid in the first year of a new decade with the exception of 1980 which I believe they missed the playoffs that season as well.

Pats in the beginning of a new decade totals - 23 Wins 53 Losses - 0 Playoff appearances

I hope this year changes those records in a positive way

We've acquired three new players o far, so only 50 (plus Ojinnaka) were here a couple of days ago.

I suspect that there will be more reoster moves before the second game.

DEFENSE
DE DEADERICK over Lewis (many of us had this as a close choice)
LB NINKOVICH over Burgess (some had this right; not me)
LB FLETCHER over McKenzie (a surprise only to some posters here)
LB/ST WHITE over Alexander (one STer for another)
CB PAGE over McGowan who was put on IR (injuries happen)
#25 LOVE was the chosen one (somehow this may not last)

OFFENSE
OG/C Ojinnaki is the 5th who doesn't count this week
OT 5 OT's is one too many
ST SLATER over Aiken didn't surprise patchick (I had it close)
#25 GREEN-ELLIS (not my choice)

I just saw the one pre-season game against the Giants and I noticed a very large man who didn't play like a tub of lard. Otherwise I have no information, except an opinion of Reiss's that he was looking good in camp (Aug. 4). He was probably mentioned in camp reports and I've forgotten, but I'd appreciate any impressions or background.

Take one of the offseason/draft: Let's get the best college and veteran players we can, based on our evaluations, into our camp.

Take two: Let's track all of these players, in our camp and in others, over the summer, as they show their stuff.

Take three: At cut down day, let's throw all the players back into a single bucket, evaluate all of them against each other, and try to get the ones we like the best onto our team for the regular season.

Take four (now in the works): In the meantime, hide as many as we can on the PS and shadow roster, trying to anticipate what other teams will do with regards to the players that we consider waiving in order to hide them. So we may keep some players on the 52 roster because if we waive them right off, they will likely get scooped up. In a few days, after other teams have settled on their practice squads and are focusing on game one prep, we can waive them and have a better chance of getting them through and onto our practice squad.

Meanwhile the fans take a snapshot of all of this movement and freak out based on the assumption that there's no rhyme or reason.

Use this thread to post your 2010 fantasy football roster up for analysis! Want some insight about your team? Post it and hopefully others will offer their assistance. Include some details about your league in your post too like weird scoring rules and league size so there is some context to your roster makeup.

I will start - here is my team in a 10 man PPR league. I participated in an auction draft and spent the majority of my $$ on my starting roster. I managed to grab both Gore and Jackson and I am really hoping they both can stay healthy.

QB: Aaron Rodgers
WR: Reggie Wayne
WR: Greg Jennings
RB: Frank Gore
RB: Steven Jackson
WR/RB: Hines Ward
TE: Jermichael Finley
D/ST: New York Giants
K: Lawrence Tynes

Bench:

WR: Santana Moss
WR: Mike Williams (Tampa)
RB: Arian Foster
RB: Carnell Williams
RB: Dexter McCluster
QB: Ben Roethlisberger

My biggest concern with my starters is the fact that I have Aaron Rodgers and 2 of his receiving threats in Greg Jennings and Jermichael Finley - that could be a hit or miss thing week to week. I did not mean to do that. In all the mocks I've ever done Rodgers went for 30+ dollars, and I never drafted him for that reason. But in my actual draft he fell in my lap for only $21. Does anyone think I should shop one of them? And for what? I was kinda hoping to trade Greg Jennings... but I don't know how I could get another comparable WR for him.

This isn't a terribly popular sub forum so I don't expect this to take off. It seems that not many Patriots fans enjoy fantasy football for some reason. Weird. But post your roster anyway and maybe we could get some good discussion going! :rocker:

Maneri (6-7, 290) is a rookie out of Temple who played tight end in college. NFL teams had been interested in him as a tight end and tackle in the pre-draft process.

After going undrafted, Maneri elected to sign with the Texans because he wanted to play tackle. He lined up primarily at left tackle in the preseason.

Maneri was signed as an undrafted free agent last May. He was a tight end at Temple but is listed as an offensive tackle.
