Guess that answer everyones question
Harrumph. A couple snaps? BFD in more current vernacular. Was it with the first team or the scout team? He already ran this with the scout team in OTAs, so how excited can I be to know they might take the ball out of Tommy's hands?

Thanks to the poster who found this not knowing was eating away at me.

Box,

Since I wasn't there I don't know for sure but sounds like this was emeregency QB stuff and not wildcat.

Well, it's nice they think the kid has the 'smahts' to float in a crisis, but there's always Kevin Faulk.

Pat Chung - Punt Returner. I have this image of opposing special teams just deciding it's smarter to just get out of his way.

Thanks for the update Chris.. I'm finding your Practice Notes among the most entertaining and insightful even amid a bunch of other quality writers' camp notes.

Awww, you guys are too kind. (kicks ground in embarrassment):)

Really, I appreciate the kind words, and appreciate the fact you guys know there are things we can and can't discuss. But training camp is fun because we get an up close look at what they're doing -- really, it's our only chance all year to get a real sense of how they operate. If you didn't go, you really need to get there next year. As SBB or Mrs. B can tell you, you can learn a lot. Next week, it looks like it's back to the old schedule, where we get 10-15 minutes with them at the start of camp and then they bring the curtain down. But no worries -- I'll still make sure you guys get the early scoop as to what's going on down in Foxborough.

Yup its lots of fun and certainly plenty to be learned. whether it is schematically or player evaluation or even overhearing some terminology plenty to pick up on. For me I think I picked up a few things about special teams I didn't previously know like at todays practice when they worked on a bad snap and scramble...the holder scrambled and yelled fire fire fire and the eligible receivers had to get out in routes. Seen this before in games but very interesting to hear the communication.

I definitely agree that your blog this training camp has been great and even though I have seen alot of it with my own eyes I have definitely enjoyed reading your stuff and actually found myself checking your camp notes before Reiss'. He may be the king of sports media around here but you and a few others are definitely giving him a run for the title.
