Leonhard: Revis to Cover Welker

Ocho on Kyle Wilson then, its finally your time to shine you nut!

Good...........expose Revis Island now.

Great use of Darrelle Revis: getting caught in the wash underneath all day. If this idiotic scheme is true, Welker will be in motion on every play dragging Revis with him. I doubt this is the plan. Revis should just take a side and go man with whomever is lined up out there or play in a zone where he can use his talents to take away options from Brady.

Revis can not stop Welker.

If the Jets are gonna keep Revis on Welker, they are going to have to play some type of mixed man and zone. They simply do not have the guys to have man coverage on Welker, Hernandez, Gronk, Woody/Ridley and Branch/Ochocinco. If they do try to go all man, they are going to get burnt in both the passing and the running game. I think that the most interesting facet of the upcoming game is Jets coverage scheme. Unless you have a very good D Line that can stop the run while consistently pressuring the QB, and a bunch of good-to-very good cover guys, the Pats offense is a nightmare matchup.

This should without a doubt be a huge game for one of Ochocinco or Price. If both of those guys do nothing this game then, I don't see them doing anything at all for us this year.

We will be putting our new shut down corner on Holmes.

I don't know if Revis has ever covered Welker extensively. The numbers that were on this board erlier this week shows that when he does and Brady targets Welker, Welker usually comes up with a reception. It is hard to tell though because in the Welker/Revis match up he was only targeted 8 time (caught six passes).

Revis usually covered Moss. November of last year, Revis really didn't cover Welker that much. In the playoffs, they played a lot of zone. If Revis actually has a weakness, it is covering guys like Welker. I'm sure how much of a weakness it is because he usually doesn't cover guys like Welker.

In the 45-3 game didnt the JESTS try that and the Pats started putting Welker int he backfield and confusing the heck out of them?

Do it again! :D

Not sure I believe him, but if true...

Wouldn't you put the babymaker on Ocho? I don't think his tall frame matches up well against a smaller quicker Branch.

If the Jets plan on playing Revis in the slot Gronkowski, Ocho and Branch are going to have a field day if the offensive line plays well.

Maybe, but either way Wilson on Branch or Ocho thats a positive for us. Baby maker could be on Hernandez as well.

With or without Welker having another huge game, Gronk and Hernandez, assuming he plays, should be able to exploit their linebackers.

I agree. Branch would eat Butthead alive.

1st of all Jets are in panick mode right now. Their "Goin Back" to ground and pound again....AGAIN?! They NEVER had one to begin with. And seriously did we need a crystal ball or a call to Nostradamus that Revis will be on Welker at times.

If Cro is on Branch I like Ocho and/or Price to have success on K Wilson. Now lets throw in Hernandez/Gronk combo. If AH is in this week then they can throw their options out. Our Offensive schemes will have Leonard runnin around like a Pinball, Oh and imagine if we actually have a running game?!

Does anyone know status for Hernandez this week. Maybe it's been listed I didn't see it.

GO PATS!
