Allen Robinson or Brandon Coleman

A couple days away from the draft and I've been watching highlight on these guys. Wish we could take both but the question is, who would you rather take:

Allen Robinson - Great playmaker, played in our offense for 2 yrs, 6'2 220lbs, great hands & route runner

Is this a trick question, or are you talking about the player vs. the round you would need to take him in? Robinson will be an NFL starter as a rookie. Coleman may develop into a starter someday down the road. This is a first round KO for Robinson.

Now, if the choice is whether to take Robinson at 29 or Coleman at 140, then there is a choice to be made -- and for me it depends on who else is available at 29, but I'd rather have Coleman in that scenario.

Honestly i could see Patriots take both.... Its still a comp 4th round pick, so if Coleman plans out, then its a HUGE bonus with a 6.6 WR.

Not even on the same level. Given other needs/value I would take Coleman in the 4th and develop him. I think the QB play at Rutgers really hurt him.

It seems like this question ends up as a proxy for "how much do you want a WR?" If you're really interested in upgrading the WR roster, there's only one answer.

I want Coleman in the later rounds. A 6'6" wr with some good route running paired with Tom Brady, I would be ready for a bunch of those Tds

Yeah and lets just leave DE, DT, SS & OL out to dry! If BB did what you said, I would be very upset. there would be major depth issues at other spots

I'd rather take Gator Hoskins in the 6th than Amaro in the 1st.

How many of those positions do you honestly expect to be filled in the draft? Should they take a DT just to take a DT or should they take the best player available?

That's the thing though, at 29, Louis Nix, Ra'Shede Hageman, maybe a falling Jernigan, Tuitt, Ealy, Shazier, Easley etc, etc, etc. all pose much better value than taking a TE in round 1. BPA at pick 29 will most likely be a DL or LB unless a very good WR falls. If we are talking round 2 and Amaro is there... maybe. but still, the Pats have to fill needs at DL and LB and the bulk of that talent is in the first three rounds while the TEs in the first three rounds may not be any better than grabbing a Crockett Gilmore type in round 6 honestly.

Coleman in the later rounds. I'm not sure the level of DT/DE is there deeper in the draft. My preference is Tuitt at 29.

How many WR do we have? 6-7 right? If Collins, Mayo or Hightower goes down, tell me who is stepping in there... Steve Beauhaneris or Josh Hull? And who will spell Chandler Or Nink? Bequette? I think this team could use an offensive weapon but they already spend money on WR (LaFell/Edelman)

There is more pressing needs at OL, DL, LB. BPA around 29 is a defensive player, nevertheless it would fill a big need too.
