Wow...I do not like that pick at 29. His knees scare the sh!t out of me.

i dont think there was a trade partner.. and i donno what to feel with this pick.

Easley is a savage i have no doubt hes going to be great for us now hopefully we can trade up and get ASJ, Ealy, Van Noy or robinson

Love that pick for the 49ers. Thinking Ward or Van Noy would make the most sense.

Ninkovich-Kelly-Wilfork-Easley-Cha. Jones

...it looks pretty good on paper! But it's an interior coming off lower body injuries.

Bridgewater to end the 1st

Terrible pick. KneEasley is one hit away from retirement. Well I guess he found his retirement fund.

Every player is one hit away from retirement.

ACL's are really not that big a deal anymore. I bet the Pats checked his medicals.

Love the pick (and Easley was my predicted 1st rounder) I love all these people saying he was a reach. Without his torn ACLs we have no shot at him, he would have gone top 15. And we couldn't have got him later - Seattle was 100% going to take him at 32.

He's going to really help us get some interior pressure finally. And his flexibility helps us kill two birds with one stone as he can line up at DE too. Him and Chandler could be switching positions every play.

I couldn't think of a better pick. The Drs have cleared him and you come back from ACL injuries all the time these days.

It's a gamble on greatness. A healthy Easley could be special.

CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAP!!! I didn't think Buchannon would go that early.

I don't hate the Easley pick. But it's not my favorite. I understand why we went for a DT (and there were guys I liked less). Ugh, two torn ACLs. What is it with Belichick taking guys with a bad medical history? He does that way too often IMO.

I'm happy for Jimmie Ward.

And how people can call Easley a terrible pick is weird considering his elite first step. Is there some risk? Yes. Is he the usual rounded prospect? No. But Chandler Jones and Darelle Revis will love this pick because no QB will feeel comfortable.

Kind of weird that the main board is going so nuts about this "crazy reach," while Easley was on 17 ballots in the draft board prediction contest!

The main board goes nuts whoever we pick

Yeah and Seattle traded down because we took him

Easley has an ELITE first step and will definitely boost our interior rush.. worth the risk

damnit! I thought I was out in front on my own. :)

Next question... does Houston take Carr at 33? That would be some serious irony :p

Or Mallet trade?

I like the pick. When you're always picking late I think you sometimes have to be a bit creative and take a risk from time to time to find high end talent. Personally, I'll take the Mercedes that's had some previous body work over the pristine Nissan.

Surely MINN was available as a trade partner. HOU may have been available also. The reality seems to be that Belichick got his man, the top DL on his board at that point by enough not to trade down.
