Patriots scouting report on Manziel leaked?

Interesting how the writer of that article says Jeff Howe claims it is fake but that he believes it is real anyways.

I think too much attention is being paid to the logo thing. That could easily be some Word-for-Windows template that simply didn't get updated. I've seen actual football tickets with old logos for the visiting teams, so having an old logo on some Word template isn't exactly a stretch.

I also have a leaked fake scouting report on Clowney for sale for much less than $5k if anyone is interested. $20 in bitcoins will do it. Or some pictures of girl butts.

Smells like BS. How often are such leaks released from the Patriots? suddenly one is released for Manziel? I doubt it. No way they would mention Tebow in this scouting report, that smells like BS too--something to get more publicity.

It’s funny and it’s quirky and it’s quintessential Belichick, the guy who acts like he’s above anything that isn’t what he cares about or knows about. But it’s unfair to the Browns or Manziel for Belichick to be flippant about a topic that possibly represents an effort by someone with the Patriots to smear Manziel by leaking confidential internal documents to the media.

Belichick should be far more concerned about the situation, both as to the fact that it harms Manziel and as to the possibility that it could happen again in the future.

Belichick claims to know nothing about Manziel scouting report | Pro Football Talk

So Belichick is being unfair to the Browns and Manziel to not comment on a Patriots' scouting report that has been already near universally deemed to be a fake?

The only value in clicking that link is the LOL for Myface, Yourface, InstantFace comment

Yeah, I laughed pretty loudly when I read Coach's presser transcript. :)

To follow along with Florio's logic:

Florio and Flaming both start with the same two letters. Coincidence? Both have a vowel following the first two consonants. Again, coincidence? There's something not quite right here and it needs to be investigated.

Belichick said:
With all due respect, I hate to admit this but I don’t think I’ve been online in a couple days or weeks or whatever, so that’s not really an important thing to me. I don’t even know what’s online and what isn’t online.

Belihick also said:
What’s online, you should go talk to the geniuses that are online.

I think Florio is actually hurt that Belichick doesn't appear to read his articles on the Internet.

Them Internet geniuses are such a fragile lot emotionally.

Thanks for summarizing Florio so we don't need to give him page views.
Guy has SUCH an agenda.

I didn't really pay attention to Florio before but often heard of his persecution of the Patriots. Now it's totally undeniable. What a joke!

But BB is hilarious as always myface, yourface, instaface... :D

So because someone put a fake scouting report with the Patriots logo online on a site that I have never heard of, Belichick should be concerned about what it did to Manziel and Cleveland? Yes, BB should definitely be spending his time getting to the bottom of it! Have to find the guy online who doesn't like the Patriots and has a lot of time on his hands to make a fake report right now, Bill!

I am amazed at the number of commenters on PFT who apparently bought hook, line and sinker that that 'report' was legit; you don't see anybody bring that up until you scroll way down on the list of comments.

Perhaps that is due to (a) the fact that Florio implicitly portrays the scouting report as real by never bringing up the fact that it might be bogus, (b) nobody bothering to click the link to the original article at that bastion of truth and investigative reporting, BroBible, or (c) PFT's moderators being very vigilant, especially immediately after the column was published, to quickly delete any comments that would question the validity of the report - and by doing so, questioning the validity of Florio's article and opinion.

Florio's writing about this - and the fact that he never once questions the authenticity of it - brings validity to the report. While universally nearly every other media member has dismissed it as fake (for more, see the original thread on the subject that was moved to the Practice Squad), Florio's take brings legitimacy to it. To me that speaks volumes about Florio, and his shameless business plan to throw anything it out there in order to generate web traffic, while hiding behind any possible scrutiny by stating that he is simply passing along the 'latest news and rumors'.

If Florio's take is what your using to think its real, then you're our of your mind. Complete non-story. Hope that kid uses the $5K wisely.

It's fake, plain and simple

It wasn't Florio I was referring to in that quote. Please do try and keep up.

I am not saying I believe it is real, though I think the Patriots' silence on the matter speaks volumes. I am not talking about Belichick, who is silent on all issues, so we know he will never confirm nor deny. I am saying that if it was a fake, I think someone in the front office would have come out and said so (or will come out and say so in the coming days) to save this team the embarrassment this is causing. I am still undecided.

I'd like to point out that the Patriots as a whole (even excluding Belichick) never come out and defend anything let alone some silly faked Internet photo... or quickly.

The Patriots are silent with exceptions on almost everything for the most part. The fact that they are being silent (especially on the day after) means... absolutely nothing, imo.

And where is the embarrassment coming from? Even if this was 100% true (it's not) -so what? Do you think that any of the 32 NFL teams only write polite and positive observations about potential Draft candidates in their internal reports?

Hell, I would bet the farm that if in fact the Patriots do internal Player and Coaching evaluations, there is strong critical language in both Belichick's and Brady's folder.

The only thing the silence is speaking volumes about is the status quo, IMO.

Gimme a break. If it's legit, then it is embarrassing for the team not only that it got leaked, but also regarding what it says.

I don't think that it is their full scouting report on Manziel, but it could be a couple pages of what someone in the organization thinks about him and threw together.
