This goes under the file of - "Just STFU and play the game stupid"

Does he realize there are guys who make these ******ed prognostications without any real reason to even think it let alone say it to the media? -

Mr.Whitner meet Mr. Kitna of the what was supposed to have been a 10-6 or better 2007 Lions team .

Confident? - Yes Donte is which is O.K. as long as you think it without the promises out to the media.

Stupid to guarantee a playoff berth for all Bills fans? - Priceless

I think they have a good chance to sneak in at #5 or #6 seed but not good enough in July for stupid guarantees - Thats why a Patriot will NEVER guarantee a playoff run to get publicity, even if the team is an elite one going into the next season.

They may be a #7 or a #8 but since only 6 make the playoffs, I think they'll be on the outside looking in again......

Relatively easy AFC EAst schedule makes it possible if the other wild card contenders knock them selves out.

Would be OK with me as long as we beat them twice as that would mean they beat Jets & Doophins twice to go 4-2 in the division or maybe split one for 3-3.

Add another 5 victories - see below and I can see 11-5 or 10-6 or 9-7 -- they could make it.

Here is who they play in addition to AFC East:

Jags L

Raiders W

Rams W

Cards W

Chargers L

Browns L

Chiefs W

49er's W

Broncos W

It all depends on the Jets and Phins.

I think the Jets will be putrid this year as the wheels come off Mangini's bus.

This is the first year under a Parcells regime for the Phins, so--as is typical when he takes over--5 wins max.

This may mean the Bills will start the season 4-2. They need 6 more wins in their other 10 games.

He was asked the question. I would be disappointed if he was less emphatic. Good for him, maybe he'll light a fire.

I believe there was some kid on the Patriots carrying a pizza who had the balls to tell the owner he was the best decision he ever made.

Tom something...

i think the jets have improved quite a bit both on defensive and offensive fronts with jenkins, pace, gholston faneca. they wont be putrid i think

Yep,Goofed there - Only had 2 hours sleep last night and it showed - Should have read #5-#6 seed

Saying it to the owner, in private, during camp is one thing. Saying it in the media is another.

Dissing your opponent is one thing. I see this as challenging your teammates. It isn't directed at any one team. That's the way I see it anyway.

If that makes his teammates uncomfortable, I'd say screw 'em. It's about time they put themselves on the line, they're supposed to want to make the playoffs.

I would normally tend to agree with him.

However I think he's overlooked the Bills' weak link at Safety where they have a loudmouth player who doesn't know when to shut the %#$k up, who could wind up hurting their chances because he's not smart enough to let his work on the field do his talking for him.

No problem, that's more than I got. Spent the weekend in the hospital with a kidneystone. Once it passed and I home first site I checked was this one to see what I missed.....What can I say, no life....I had to really think if the playoff field was 6 or 8???

The hater in me hopes the Bills make the playoffs because that will spell the doom for Mangini ... which means a coaching change and perhaps more rebuilding for them and I would love that. After all the crap they caused us with Mangini and Branch they deserve all the crap that would come their way based on Buffalo Bills resurgence.

That was in private so not the same but I still have no problem with it. Partly because that is what makes sports great a new year means everyone has a chance.

But also because he should have that kind of confidence in his team. He is going to have to suit up and play for 16 games to make the playoffs and if they are going to do it he needs to have confidence in his team and his team needs to have confidence in its self.

The team that lost 4 Super Bowls and has been chugging along has little to lose ... a statement like that can only help them at this point ... good for Dante.

All this is much ado about nothing. Some times these predictions work,(Plaxico for the Superbowl) sometimes they don't (Kitna) It's played out. But, if the Bills do make it, Mangidiot is done in NY and I am all for that. Go Bills!

The Bills were always the closest thing to a home team we had (Detroit Lions... pffft), and while I'm a Pat's fan, it would be nice to see them have a good year, maybe even 14-2 ;)
