Apparently there is a lot of revisionist historians posting in this thread, there was a solid 25% of people on this board who thought keeping Cassel and trading Brady for a King's ransom was the way to go. I wasn't one of them but to say there wasn't a serious debate is nonsense, especially...
If the pats win the Super Bowl this year I don't think it counts as part of the dynasty, the only player still here from 01 is brady, the only ones from 03 are brady and branch (as of now), and the only ones from 04 are brady branch and wilfork.
Not only that but the style of play for this...
If the Pats trade up...
...and obviously its a big if, who would you like them to move up to take? Would it be a realistic possibility? What do you think they would have to give up?
You must be high off your ass if you think Ray Rice is going anywhere. But if Williams is healthy and can be signed at a reasonable price (not highest paid defensive player ever basically) I say pursue him aggressively.
Pats offense didn't get it done and the ball didn't bounce our way on a few key plays. Case closed. What's mind boggling to me is all the people on this board who think all our problems will be solved with a down field threat. I hope come draft day BB invests in the front seven and O-line best...
I really like our chances next year but it took so many things to fall into place for us to go 18-0 in 0-7 a lot of balls bounced our way. You have to be not just good but lucky as well. That said I definitely like our chances in the AFC next year and maybe we'll get a super bowl opponent who we...
I'd say Meachem or maybe a guy like Garcon if he's available. I really hope they don't overspend on a deep threat. Our offense is still going to revolve around the TE's and Welker we only need a deep threat to keep the defense honest. BB needs to (once again) try to bring a play maker or two...
Re: 24 hours later, do you consider the Pats' season a success?
I say no just because the patriots let a golden opportunity slip through their fingers. The road to the superbowl was laid out for the Patriots, Pittsburgh going down, Matt Shaub going down, the Packers, Saints, and Niners all...
