Re: Matt Wilhelm Released...

Can someone please give us some kind of comparison to Adam Seward ?

I think you must've missed my seward reference on page 1.:)

Re: Matt Wilhelm Released...

...The 3-5 wide passing game and the use of receiving only TEs and speedy RBs out of the backfield has changed the dynamic and those ILBs need to be a little smaller and much better in coverage - hence Mayo and Guyton, McKenzie in the draft, and a partial reason Alexander has stuck for so long...

So that's why Eric Effin Alexander is still here? I thought (and still do) that he has incriminating photos...

Wilhelm >> Alexander; sign the former, release the latter, improve the team.

Howdy Capt. Downer, 'bout time you came out of hibernation. :D

Re: Matt Wilhelm Released...

i think wilhelm could do good in NE, NE does good with other teams cast offs, look what they did with reche caldwell, that was simply amazing

i would bet if they picked up matt, he'd have a much better year than he had in sd in 07, NE puts guys in a position to succeed

any other team i'd say good luck getting matt motivated, but NE has that system where guys just buy into it

I liked the way he played at Ohio State.

My SD friend, whose opinion I trust, says he's very intelligent, high-character, a leader, and understands the game very well. However, he says he's not physically gifted enough to play up to the mental level he's at. His nickname in SD is Whifflehelm because he's always juuuust short and many times he 'whiffs' on the play. They wish him well, he says, but no one's sad to see him go and in the right system, he's got something legitimate to offer. Also, he typically plays weak-side ilb and has never played (that he knows of) at olb.

Thanks, Mr. Box; I've poked my head in here from time to time, but have been mostly doing the summer vacation thing w/the family: HersheyPark, Disney cruise, South Shore, pool, Irish Dance competition...

I figure now that TC has started, it's time to visit more often and, for another season, inject my special dose of reality into the love-in that is PatsFandom.
