Yeah, so... your offensive line looked pretty good last night, no?

I'm going to throw my hands up and say this season is a total loss based on the FIRST GAME OF THE PRE-SEASON! They were bad, I won't disagree. They have a lot of work to do. Not to make excuses but the pick that Trent threw might not have happened if the DT wasn't pushing Levitrie into back into his face, lol. Scratch that, a lot of work to do.

Question, what did you guys think of the No-Huddle? I thought Trent ran it surprisingly well. T.O. catching the ball on those crossing routes will be fun to watch.

The no huddle seems to have several versions out there, but the one that I saw last night won't scare anyone or create much confusion in the regular season. I remember the K-gun was based upon the concept of dictating the tempo of the game to the defense, but those guys were a potent conventional offense to begin with before switching to full time no huddle (aka. knew each other, communicated well, had a ton of talent).
I'm not sold on the idea that you can take a struggling offense (last few years) with a young QB and honestly hope to run an effective no huddle attack. The defenses in the AFC East are farther along in their development in both personnel and scheme. I could see the Bills using this part time if it struggles early and their defense suffers. To be perfectly honest I think its a moronic idea because all three of Buffalo's division rivals will be using run heavy ball control, pound on you offenses. This is a recipe for disaster if your no-huddle can't move the ball consistently, your defense will get worn down each game and more so throughout the season. Every other team in the AFC East has quality depth on the D-line, the Bills don't.

The offense was pretty vanilla last night to. Trent had a limited amount of plays he could use. The no-huddle was working as the Titans defensive line wasn't even in their stances on a couple of those plays. As a Bills fan, it was pretty exciting to watch. I just hope they don't abandon it 3 games into the season, which they're known to do.

Well, I'm looking forward to watching it in action against the Patriots. By snapping the ball so quickly rather than running down the clock, the Bills will be giving the Patriots more opportunities with the ball.

That is the truth and it will hurt (the Bills D that is).

The Bills fans aren't that delusional. Some boards are better than others, but for the most part, I seem to be in the minority by holding out the possibility that the Bills even make the playoffs this year. A good part of the fanbase doesn't expect it. What do I expect in the opener?

Recipe for Buffalo Omelette
Place in a mixing bowl 2 eggs, 1/4 cup water, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Stir with a fork until the egg yolks are just broken up. Heat 1 tablespoon butter or margarine in a frying pan. As soon as the butter is sizzling, pour eggs into the pan and cook at moderately high heat for 3 minutes. Add 1 large (3000 lbs) buffalo, and cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the buffalo is completely melted. Remove from heat, fold buffalo omelette onto a warmed plate, garnish with a sprig of parsley, and serve. Bon Appétit!

Maybe, but then again, maybe not. How's the Patriot secondary this year?

I expect the Patriots to win, but I don't think it'll be as easy as most people think...not like it has been. The Bills have the advantage of this being the first game of the season, so it'll be harder to game plan against them, especially with the drastic changes on the Bills offense.

LOL. No matter how many stats you throw at me or how much you call me a moron, I like Manning better than Brady, end of story. BTW, the Colts defense in 2006 didn't show up until the very end of the season. If the defense didn't carry them into the playoffs, how did they get there?

Translation; he likes Manning better than Brady because Brady is in his division, kicks the Bills asses year after year after year and Manning is hated by Patriots fans.

That is the long version; the short version is the guy is a moron.

Apparently something good DOES come out of Buffalo.

Actually, besides one play with our rookie LG, they looked very good against one of the best d-lines in football. In the only drive for the starters, we marched right down the field. Unfortunately, a rookie got overpowered and forced a bad throw.

But considering it was the first game action for them and given the competition, I feel pretty good. Long way to go still.

Manning was in the AFC East for his first four years in the league, too. Believe it or not, a ton of people think that Manning is better than Brady. In fact, the national polls I've seen favor Manning as the better QB by however wide a margin. It's always a close call and an interesting subject. Gotta respect them both.

Notice how I didn't offer my own personal opinion. I don't want to debate the subject. Just making a point. Not everyone that favors Manning over Brady has an agenda or suffers from football ignorance. The subject IS debatable, but obviously not on a Patriots board. It's not a no-brainer.

Fact?
National Polls?

Do tell..... Post a link to ANY "national poll" that is a considered a respectable/neutral source that backs up your assertion.

Good luck with that

I'm well aware that Manning was in the AFC East at one point, back when he sucked. Was witness to his first game vs the Patriots and he threw about 400 INT's that game, he was God awful.

He is a stat machine, no doubt about it. he has better career stats than Brady, no doubt about that either.

Brady has 3 rings, Manning has 1.

This "debate" in this thread started when Einstein the Bills fan said he'd take Manning over Brady because "Manning is more clutch."

See above; 3 vs 1, who is clutch again?

WHEN THE MONEY IS ON THE LINE, I'll take Brady over Gomer any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Gomer crapped his pants in 2004 vs the Patriots in the regular season (first and goal at the 7 and he couldn't close the deal) and in the playoffs (highest scoring offense in NFL history at the time and he put up ZERO touchdowns, a grand total of 3 points), in 2005 vs the Steelers (when he had a CLEAR road to the Super Bowl), in 2007 in the regular season vs the Patriots (fumbled on the last drive) and vs the Chargers in the playoffs in 2007 and 2008 (the 2008 8-8 Chargers by the way).

Debate over.

Over before it's even begun, huh?

What do you want to debate?

Who's got the better stats?

Gomer.

Who's more clutch?

Brady.

What else is there to debate?

The floor is yours Mr Meat.............

That's Dr. Meat to you. I don't want to debate it at all...I've done that, and I'm quite sick of it. We all have opinions, but that's all they are. Do you want to know who is better? Whoever you think is better is the better QB...in your own mind, as is the nature of opinion.

If Manning had as many Super Bowl wins as Brady, I'd say without question he is the better quarterback.

He's had at least two, maybe three chances to get there and has blown it.

If you think he's the better QB, have at it.

For somone (peekaboo; he's one of yours by the way, so good luck with that) says Manning is the better QB because he's more clutch, that is nonsense, plain and simple.

Clutch does not equal one Super Bowl win.
