Is Julian Edelman Jewish?

I have a work-friend whose dad passed away a couple years ago. My friend said his dad often said he wished he was half-Jewish and half-Irish (yes, I know that doesn't really make sense) because everyone likes Irish people and Jews are good at business. I always thought that was kind of a nice, if extrememly generalized, statement.

I would have bet a million dollars you were getting ready to tell a big pecker/little pecker joke!:D

What does it matter what Julian Edelman's religion is. As long as he kneels at the altar of Belichick that is.

Take maverick with a grain of salt. The called me a racist for arguing in favor of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Threads touching on Jewish people are sort of a special fascination for him. It's just usually in the political forum.

We all like OOO (one of ours) whether its someone who attended the same high school as us, is from the same town or part of town, same religion or even a Pats fan if you're out of town. At the game Thurs night several other people wearing Pats jerseys and approached me. Where you from, "Originally Milton," " Brockton"
This thread is no different and don't read to much into it. If he's a 'luntzman', great, if not I'll still root for him.
After he returned the punt for a TD, I turned to the Eagles fan behind me and said "that's the first time he's ever returned a punt in a game." His response was pricelss,"where do you guys find these guys?".....priceless...

Sure, there are few Jews in sports, and I appreciate Adam Sandler's song. But, in response to the other guy (not cheekydave) don't try to deny it's not ethnocentrism, because it is, and it definitely turns off a lot of people when it's completely blatant. Don't try to cite Jackie Robinson or Lou Gehrig, who were great players all people would appreciate or be fans of, the ethnocentrism is here in this case because you're all obsessing over a 7th round pick who likely isn't going to make the team... simply due to his "ethnicity" or "religion".

Relax, dude. It's only for the same novelty reason why so many of us all loved the Jamaican bobsled team, Yao Ming, or Grant Fuhr.

No one thinks it's interesting when they find out their CPA is Jewish.

Take a breath and enjoy life.

This thread was created and perpetuated by others about a fringe possible Jewish American player, not me. I'm merely pointing out that blatant ethnocentrism is a major turn off, which cheeky agrees with.

I don't know about that. It's turning me on BIG TIME right now. :singing:

Nope. He is muslim

I'd be more excited if he was from Rhode Island. And was my kid. Especially since that would mean I was getting busy when I was 13.

I was always getting busy when I was 13, mowing grass, doing chores, my paper route,Homework, and sex.

I hoping this thread would just go away but since it hasn't ...
Mods this belongs somewhere else!

Actually I'll finish it. Regardless of his religion - Julian Edelman has impressed me so far, and I think we can all agree that we're all looking forward to watching him score some more TD's this season

Thread locked.
