The NFL is killing football for me. I'll never quit but WTF.

Last week we hit the QB with the ball twice and get flagged for it. BS

This week Brady gets hit 10+ times didn't get sacked because the ball was out of his hand and not one call. Maybe only one or two were late but I was expecting one or two to draw flags and I hate sitting there hopinng for flags but when you see flags for hitting the QB when he has the ball you are left expecting them when he doesn't. Then on the 3rd and 3 at the end of the game it looked like AD pulled up scared to get a penalty that would of ended the game. While I was typing this a roughing the passer was called in the charger game that was exactly like 3 or 4 of the Brady hits today.

no consistancey is one gripe but my real gripe is that they have forced me to want these calls because they get called against us and I hate watching a game like that.

I didn't see any hits on Brady that I thought were roughing; there was one that was close where it looked like he was thrown to the ground, but the replay showed it was a follow-through on a clean hit and not a body slam.

I agree with the way that it was called this week, but the inconsistency from last week bugs me too. I'd just like for these hits to be consistently not flagged.

Maybe we should pull a Polian and send a letter to Goodell? I would have thought that with all the pregame talk by the Jets that we would have got at least one of those calls. Brady did get slammed a couple of times when the ball was well out of his hands. No consistencey.

It was the first game last week for refs too and they were probably told to keep on eye on these things, new rule and all. As time goes on hopefully they'll be more consistent.

In my normal opinion I would agree but when I see ****ty calls vs us I am left expecting them that was more my gripe than anything as I said of the 10+ hits only maybe one or two could have been calls. My real gripe is that they have forced me to watch the game thru these googles.

The Oline should of protected him better, Jets played a clean game.

I would not have been surprised to see a penalty on that hit on Brady, given what we've seen so far this year.

Message to the Jets fan: there are no more clean hits to the QB after he releases the ball. Have you not been watching games this year?

One thing the refs did miss though is roughing the kicker. How in the world did they miss that one?

Agreed, I'd like to see a bit more consistency on this call, especially considering it's a major penalty.

But I can't really criticize the crew today for not calling it. It'd be awful if they only called it on the Pats, but considering the Pats weren't really interested in hitting the QB, we couldn't really compare.

I know exactly what you are saying........

If you look at all the action throughout the league as I do with NFL ticket - it is the inconsistency of the way the roughing the passer penalty is called. I really think they players have no clue anymore what is or isn;t other than the blatant.

Tully Bunta Cain had a nice hit on Sanchez, lucky for the Jets he got the ball out before he was hit.

Yeah and istead of saying good we finnally hit your QB I was left hoping they don't throw the flag. My complaint really isn't on the refs today but the overall mulitiple levels of roughing the passer leaves me scared when my guys hit the QB and hoping for flags when my guy gets hit and thats not how I want to watch. Its a matter of what I see creating expectations that shouldn't be there.

Home field advantage. Got to expect that to happen. Same for the holding penalties. Calling them or letting them go is completely inconsistent but you tend to be on the wrong side of those calls on the road. They kill drives, change field position and mess up any momentum you might have.

2nd and inches at the Jets 7 vs.
1st and 20 at the Jets 27

3rd and 8 at the Jets 15 vs.
2nd and 30 at the Jets 37

1st and 10 at the Pats 31 vs.
1st and 10 at the Pats 9

2nd and 2 at the Pats 43 vs.
1st and 20 at the Pats 25

1st and 10 at the Pats 20 vs.
1st and 10 at the Pats 10 (magnified by the situation - 2 min with no timeouts)

All of these were killers and all of these were completely subjective. I'm sure the refs get caught up in the hype and are quicker (or slower) with the flag based on the home situation. It's tough but you have to expect that coming in.

You have to have a killer instinct on the road and the Pats (players and coaches) just aren't there yet. Without that you are subject to situations beyond your control.

Yeah, I saw that too. I was going nuts. They also missed defensive holding on the first series when the Jets DB grabbed Galloways shirt while the ball was in the air. But I think the call on the fumble was a bad call in our favor. So just not a good day for the refs again, but the bad calls go both ways.

In case you hadn't noticed they're playing [tackle] football not touch. I know we played a weak game this week and last but I didn't notice any cheap shots.
Lets try to keep out integrity up on this site guys.

Yeah, TBC made that nice spin move, and there were a few sacks as well as that early forced fumble. But overall, I don't think Sanchez felt too much pressure.

Your missing my point. If it is tackle football than explain the two roughing penalties on Wilfork and Thomas last week. I want to see us hit QBs and expect to see our QB hit but it seems the rules and flags don't so now I expect to see flags and it is pisses me off that they have forced me to expect them.

not sure where my integrity is in question here. I am not saying we would have won if the refs threw more flags I am complaining that they have me expecting them.

for the record I think our STs, Brady, and penalties lost this game for us and doubt a roughing call would changed anything.

There's nothing worse than refs getting too much face time. This game was a flag fest. A perfect game is when you don't know they were even there.

The fumble looked like he was down but there was no video evidence to support it I am sure they wish they called it right origanally but you cant change what you cant see.
