1. Clearly BB has no faith in Maroney. Second game in a row he is a bench sitter in the second half.
2. At this point, Sammy Morris is a liability....sloooooow
3. Forcing Brady to throw on the run is a huge win for the D
4. 3rd and long defense.... "Don't rush and leave huge cushions for the WRs"
5. Wilhite should tackle with his arms...I hear players fall to the ground this way
6. I love Faulk, but he is no longer that quick little water bug...he's more on the beefy slow side this year
7. I hear passing to TEs can be effective.
8. Somehow, a penalty flag was just thrown in my living room....where's Watson

But the Good news is....both Jacksonville and Tennessee lost....the Pats will be picking....16, 33,34,48 in next years first two rounds.

As far as the draft picks go.....

I don't see us using a 16, 33, then 34. They will be traded away so we can be better in 2014.

Re: This one's on Brady

Gonna have to agree. Was saying it all game long. Brady has been sailing passing all over the place. He can't connect with anyone down the field. His throws to the flat are often way too high or 3 yards in front of the receiver. Even his screen passes are shaky.

Mechanically, if you watch him, Brady still isn't stepping into throws. Everything is off his back leg. Just a complete mess. Doesn't appear to have confidence.

I realize questioning St. Tom is a major no-no for some fans, but he's the one costing the team so far this season.
That's clearly been the case when he has people in his face and the pocket is closing in on him which was the case on nearly every play today. It is as if part of his brain is thinking "here we go again" regarding the injury - he won't extend the left leg when there are defenders coming toward him. On the other hand, and to be fair, he has had a LOT of pressure the past two weeks, and especially this week.

I mentioned this in an earlier post but had to step out for a while and don't feel like sifting through all the pages to see if anyone else noticed but... why wasn't the 3rd and 13 conversion towards the end of the 3rd quarter challenged?? Leon looked to be down at least a yard short of where the refs spotted the ball. That play completely killed us, instead of getting the ball back in good field position down 4, the Jets went onto burn 7 more minutes off the clock and extend the lead. Did anybody else notice this or DVR the game and can check?

Refs rarely change a spot, and BB was probably worried about losing a timeout. Either that or he fell asleep, LW was a good half yard short.

Re: Thoughts on the game and a good, long look at this team... and it's not good.

Check out my thread. I just posted my reply to you there. I am happy to see that you're ecstatic about this loss though.

I saw your thread, it's "chicken little". I guess I just don't get as balled up over a loss in game two of the regular season. I don't know maybe I just don't dislike the Jets enough!

1. Brady looks like he is not as sharp as what we are used to... I guess that 1 year lay off will require an adjustment period. The good news: we all know he can do it, so we'll have to ride this.
2. Where was Moss in the second half?
3. The play w/ Moss in the end zone should have been a pass interference call. The safety came and hit him in the back as he was trying to leap for the ball... he was not playing the ball, he was playing Moss, and Moss didn't have the ball yet - and wouldn't for a bit longer.
4. Brady was hit *after the throw* all day, and no calls. Not even one. After last week, where we suffered from two bad calls in that department. Annoying.
5. Galloway: it was good seeing him involved this week.
6. Edelman: he's good, but he's no Welker yet. But he's good.
7. Tackling: it's a good thing. Someone let the defense know.
8. Special teams: terrible job helping our returners. They were swarmed all the time.
9. Penalties: way too many of those.
10. Is it me or was our punter beat up by two guys on a kick, and there was no flag on that?

Oh yeah...

11. Brady sucks: classless. Not surprising, but classless.

Can't wait for the next game, when Brady is all tuned up and ready to rip.

They would have definately changed the spot of the ball, it was off by at least a yard. It might not have been clear enough to make it short of the 1st but if they have to change the spot, we don't lose the timeout.

3. The ball was already tipped. They could've practically pushed Moss completely out of the way.

11. Wow. Loving the support your giving him. He's just nervous about his knee. Once that goes away. He'll be fine....hopefully.

i saw this in the preseason game agaisnt the skins also but everyone was so enamoured by the moss TD's that no one cared

I saw that too. And not just a prat fall like punters do when you just brush their foot. But defenders laying on him after the hit. WTF refs?

I wondered about that one as well, but given the crap call against Bart Scott for the "kick", I guess it evens out.

...yeah, well I have a couple things I noticed.

First of, Brady.....I understand he has pressure, he IS tenative on that injured leg. He is jumping around in that pocket and not planting. I mean he is seeing the house a lot of times too. I would love to take some tight ends in. Brady needs protection at all cost, let's face it he is the franchise. Brady needs protection at all cost. Whatever is necessary, 12 needs protection. Let's face it the book is out on beating NE, and that is rattling Brady. Let's protect him. Whatever it takes...

Second, the defense. Man. Teams are finding zones in this defense that the qb is throwing too. I think we need better communication. I do think we have the talent, we need better communication and recognition (more fil study?). Teams are marching on us more regularly in the past couple years. This needs to be fixed by either scheme or coaching. Soon

Third, I am liking that kid Edelman (sp?). I am glad he got some game time play, he will get better.

Fourth, I would like to see the O-line open up some holes for this running game. Taylor I like, great back and played well for us today. Morris is so-so lately.

Fifth, Maroney. We all have our opinions on this guy. I am not high on him. I don't know, he just is not panning out. How long does it normally take anyways. And Maroney returning kicks? What the hell? He is gonna need help getting his girl pregnant cause the guy just can't hit the hole, with any authority. I have seen enough.

Sixth, I do think the coaching staff is gonna need to make changes. I mean we snuck one out against Buffalo. The Jets beat on us pretty good today.

Seventh, the sky is hardly falling. We have an upper echelon team. We need to re-assess and re-focus on what we do good. I wish we would run more screens.

We need some changes, either subtle or otherwise, this I know...

Refs made sure to give that game to the Jests. Hope Rexy enjoys this win because he won't get an second one at the next match up at good ole
Gillette.

Between this game and my Zune suddenly dying on me..... I feel like crap right now.

Yep, the way the refs overturned the call on that Leon Washington "fumble" really screwed the pats . . . oh wait . . .

But you know, that call on Bart Scott was completely justified . . . oh wait . . .

You lost. To a hell of a team, in a hell of a game, on the road. Your team will be fine. Just give credit where it's due, and move on. Why is that so hard for some people?

Not sure I understand what you're saying, but in case you thought I was saying that he sucks and were being sarcastic, I wasn't saying that at all. I was referring to the Jets chants of Brady Sucks, and I was calling the chant classless.

How can we have not scored a single TD!? It's insane! We were humiliated! We let them suffocate our offense! We should have never let Josh go. Why did we get rid of Seymour? Where were the Refs!? I don't understand it! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE!!?? Where did we go wrong!!??

The Jets beat on us pretty good today.

I've read this a couple of times in these threads and I'd like to know what the posters mean. First of all, the jets played well only in the 2nd half. Second, the final score was 16-9, hardly a beat down. And third, returning-from-a-devastating-injury Brady got the ball back with enough time to throw for a TD and tie the game up.

I think that the Jets single-minded physicality ramped up by RR to try to prevent another defeat at the hands of the Patriots, made them look better than they were and made the Pats look worse than they are.

The one problem I see now for the Jets is they have shown to be a good team in beating the Patriots in a tough game. They now have to worry about whether this momentum carry on throughout the rest of the season. When it starts to teder out of control, will the team be able to stay in control ?
