I don't see him on any of the Injury Reports, no limited participation, no nothin'. So are we to assume his problem on Sunday is now taken care of and he's good to go?

Those of you in the Boston area, please help out. Those who look for any chance to throw him under the bus, please take a break from that here. Would love to just keep this as a spot where people can provide info about your sense of his chances of playing v. the Ravens.

Thanks!

he was not on the limited participation list or out, so either he is IR or playing. I'm guessing the latter.

From this quote , it seems that Maroney is likely to play this Sunday game:

"When Reebok, the Patriots apparel outfitter, approached Maroney about wearing the pink gloves, he immediately agreed.
“I really didn’t get all the details behind it, but I said, ‘No problem. I’d love to do that.’
“I’ll get a couple of laughs,” he added with his trademark grin, “but it’s for a good cause.”

it sounds like he is back in the fold. is it possible he was not injured on Sunday but he was just relegated to the bench and people exacerbated word of a possible injury?

Fox got a long look at him staring into the abyss on the sideline late in the 2nd half - don't injured players either play or go to the locker room on the BB sideline? I mean, Big Vince has a not-so-big-deal-sprained ankle but he stayed in the locker room I believe.

Seem to remember it was a thigh bruise....

he got his thigh bruised a bit, but pats have many backs so what was the sense of him going back in.

Whenever I see Maroney play this season, those few carries early in the game and sit on the bench sulking, I get the feeling he may be in BB's doghouse....Of course, I have no way of proving this but just a hunch. I mean if he is ok and not playing at RB spot, at least use him for kick return. Faulk, as good a third down back he is, has no business returning kicks.

Weird thing from my POV is, Maroney has looked pretty good this season. I haven't been frustrated with him at all. Hope he gets back in there and soon.

Exactly. A bruise has internal bleeding. By stoping play, the bleeding is minimized and it should heal faster. We have many backs. Let's keep them healthy; it's a 16 game season.

I'm glad someone said it, I haven't either. I saw one or two times where he was tip-tappin' behind the line, but other than that he seems to be pretty straight ahead. I understand why some people are frustrated, but let's temper that frustration. Belichick has kept him around for a reason.

I think maroney needs more carries sadly we cannot do that . He is having issues. Everyone wanted him to run straight and not wait .Now he does that but lost all the ability to cutback or wait another hole due to this.In the first year he played the same the style and was more flashy as he waited for blocks to open .

Now he runs with more purpose and does not wait enough.Maybe he will go to another system and flourish.

Boy, no matter what he does the kid can't win with some fans. That said, it IS incumbent on LoMo's career to contribute definitively this season.

He's looked great this season. Only carries he hasn't has been when he's met by three defenders right when he gets the handoff. I just wish they would throw more swing passes to him to utilize him in space. It seems whenever he catches a dump off pass good things happen.

I am a big fan of maroney. I love the way he runs. I think the fault was people expected another dillion when he was never that kind of player. He is a cut back runner more closer to Taylor. It was futile to take him and change him into dillon and then back. What they should have drafted was a 230-240 lb big back and ask him to be dillion than a speed cutback guy .

There is another option: If he can become a very good pass blocker, he could fight for Faulk's role in the future. We know we can make moves in space as a receiver once he has the ball, and has pretty good hands. Faulk isn't on the team because of his first and second down running ability.

He kept him around to save face. I mean, who wants to admit that their first round pick was a bust...especially when you could have take a better, less injury prone back like Addai.

Sorry, does not compute.

1. Addai less injury prone? He's had his share of nicks.
2. BB "save face"? I can't think of anyone more willing to cut his losses if he doesn't think a player will cut it. Chad Jackson, anyone.

Maroney may not have been all that we had hoped. But he still can contribute solidly at times, and he has the talent to do much more if we use him effectively.

Addai is not a very good running back. And I'm pretty sure BB doesn't keep players around "to save face."

The sheer idiocy you read here sometimes beggars belief.

I figured that Maroney stepped off to get his quad checked out and Taylor caught fire. Stay with what works... and Taylor was workin'.

Are you friends with BB? Do you do a weekly interview with him? Do you have ESP? Then you don't know for sure.

The sheer ******edness you read here sometimes begets belief.
