I've always said since '07 that Welker is the #2 most important person on this team. If it came down to re-signing him or Moss, I take Welker without even needing to think about it.
I also say if he plays vs. the Jets we're 6-1 right now.

Edelman has a great deal of potential, and I'm VERY excited to see what the offense is like with an experienced him, Welker and Moss all on the field at once, but right now there's still a pretty massive gap between him and Welker.
I do think he's better at returning punts though. Once Edelman and Tate get comfortable as PR and KR our return game could be very dangerous.

I don't think he is trying to say that there isn't a huge gap I think he is saying that game was a few missed plays to Edelman away from being a win and one of them may have been completed had Edelman got some reps in the Bills game instead of Gallonay.
