Bah, this is nothing, but I thought you'd all wanna hear Florio go off...

Jarvis Green inadvertently blows whistle on Patriot games | ProFootballTalk.com

Patriots linebacker Jarvis Green recently had surgery to repair a knee injury. And in discussing the matter at a Friday night charity event, Green might have gotten the team in a little hot water.

"The knee is going good, rehab is going good," Green said, per Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald. "Taking it one day at a time, feeling good. [Surgery] had to be done. I've been playing with it for about four weeks, the injury, and it was getting worse and worse. It was time."

This admission suggests that Green had a knee injury during the team's four prior games. Since the Pats had a Week Eight bye, the four prior games would have been played in Week Four, Week Five, Week Six, and Week Seven.

Watch Goodell suddenly decide that this is terrible and dock us a 2nd round pick...

I think if you look at the sequence of events, it may have been an "injury" that was something like Welker had, but he was playing through it and not making a big deal of it with his trainers.

I really doubt this is anything sinister on the part of the Patriots.

he was not on the report and was active in the games and played. end of story IMO. Florio is being **hole as usual

he says green had surgery in thelast 4 weeks where as green says it was worse in the last 4 weeks. this is the same florio who said moss is dogging it so he can play with favre in minnesota ..:mad:

Florio's still going full ****** for page hits... no surprise.

I stopped reading when he called green a linebacker.

Could you imagine if he ran a 4.5 40 yard dash at his size? Guy would destroy as a linebacker!

I stopped reading when he called green a linebacker.
So did I. Football players are warriors and there is in essence a 100% injury rate in the NFL. Every player has a bump or a scratch of some kind so stories like this and the unstated implications that come with them are pure garbage.

lol, what green called an injury could have jut been an "ache" for the "four weeks"

and EVERY football player has aches.....unless u want injury reports filled by the whole team, only injuries tha tmight affect playing time matter

at the time that injury did not affect playing time

nothing to see here

Wait until ESPN and/or Tom Jackson find out about this one, a shytstorm will ensue...

Too late for Florio perhaps? :p

It's not an INJURY list. ie a list of every and all injuries

It's a probability of playing list. If it is 100 percent that you will play then you need not be on the list.

Anybody that doesn't get this (ESPN Florio etc etc) can take a long walk off a short pier.

Brady is always on the list to tweek other teams and the hierarchy, but also so in the event that there is some week of doubt that he will play it is a good cover up.

Jarvis also likely didn't have an injury at all per se, but rather some cumulative wear and tear damage building like bone chips floating around that won't get worse with playing but also won't get better. Players play through that all the time, it's called pain... If it gets to be enough of a problem and/or they have a window to repair it in season they go for it.

He was listed on the injury report on Friday October 16th and again beginning on Wednesday throughout the following week for (knee) and was probable to play which he did.

This isn't Brett Favre who wasn't ever listed for a torn whatever and later opined that his coach knew that he probably should have been replaced because his play was so poor as a result. That is what got Ratboy and the JETS in trouble.

players don't play with injuries?

didn't peyton play with a wired jaw?

merriman play with a torn knee?

i mean emmit smth played with a dislocated shoulder

this is a stupid article

I know some days news can be slow and writers really have to reach for stories but jeez

It sounds like he was trying to play through an injury but couldn't deal with it anymore. I don't see it as a big deal.

No big deal I had the procedure performed on a Monday Wednesday I was hitting golf balls and Friday teed off in a golf tournament. It was elective surgery. No pain, nothing like that just it would make an annoying pop every once in a while. They made a small incision and scoped it out. Put a band aid on it and sent me on my way.
