On colts.com and coltfreaks it seems there are more anti-Patriots posts than posts about their 14-2 playoff team or Manning getting the MVP.

A few on coltfreaks in particular...call out Brady and call him physically weaker than a woman (The same guy that has played the last few games with a broken ribcage), mad that he won the comeback player of the year award, insist that Cassel is equal or better than Brady. One guy said he hopes Ray Lewis pulls a Bernard Pollard on Brady.

On other teams fanboards, it's nothing like this.

Is this ring envy or something? I mean their team has had the better of the rivalry the past 4 or 5 years and they've handed us a couple heart-breaking losses (06 Championship and the game this year.) You'd think they were the ones who were 10-6 and haven't won a SB in a 5 years.

Colt fans on here. I want to get your take on this as well as that of other Pats fans on here.

Fear - plain and simple. Honest ones admit it. The majority won't.

Interesting.

I admit while I hate certain things about Peyton Manning, I fear him. Even if we were up 35-0 in their dome, I wouldn't put a comeback past him.

I understand Colt fans are going to think Manning's better, but if you look at the Manning bashing on here, it's about his commercials or ugly looks or his playoff failures, nothing about his ability as a pure passer.

So Colt fans can't admit Brady's great and leave it at that because they fear him?

Look, I live in Indianapolis and probably hate the Colts more than the average Pats fan because I hear their crud EVERY day. Just yesterday a friend of mine (a colts fan) said that he hates Tom Brady cause he is scared to death of him every time he touches the ball. I think that they still remember then days when we were the monkey on their back even though they have recently had the upper hand. It's hard for them to forget that. They blame us for a lot of things like; cheating, faking injuries, paying off refs, dirty play, oh and yes, even controlling the weather. Obsessed is what they are - driven by fear. They fear playing us this year in the AFCCG even more than the chargers.

This thread is a little ironic...

What so you mean? Besides, Peyton Manning is such a woman. He throws like a little girl. I hope someone...what are talking about?

Simple cause Colts fans are red necks :singing: and red necks always say the darndest thangs...like "momma always told me I could play some ball..."

hahahahah

Pats 14-3 in the playoff this decade, COlts 7-7. PAts 3 sb rings 4 SB appearances, Colts 1 SB win and appearance.

I give Manning his due. I think he's overexposed and not easy on the eyes and I wouldn't want the ball in his hands with my team's season on the line, but he is the best pure passer in the game and probably the best pure passer of all-time.

So I'm not being hypocritical.

This thread is amausing given how much we have posted about the colts over the years. In the few weeks we will complete the best decade reivalry ever in the nfl. The two teams have won the most games in a decade ever.

We are "obsessed" about the colts as much as colts fans are obsessed about the "patriots".

And this is as it should be, given the rivalry of the last decade. The rivalry should continue as long as Manning and Brady continue to play for our respective teams.

I just read the "MVP" thread and about 70-80 percent was respectful about Manning. A few argued that Rivers deserved the award, but had no problem with Peyton getting it. On Colts boards, 99 percent of the posts are about how Brady is the Trent Dilfer of our generation or that he's no better than Cassel. I understand a lot of that is fear and also envy that Brady to most other people is in the same league or better than Peyton, but it gets old. Grownups that out of envy and bitterness can't admit that someone is great.

With apologies to triggerfish and Dino Six Rings, Steeler fans are more obsessed with the Pats than Colts fans, in my opinion. Check out a Steelers fan forum like steelersfever or steelersnation and you find about one out of every three threads turn into a Pats or Brady bashing even when the original subject had nothing to do with the Pats.

In addition, there's a whole lot of obsession here about both the Colts and the Jets, so I don't think we can point our fingers at others on this subject. Look at the threads and comments here this past week, and more people are talking about Rex Ryan than the upcoming game against the Ravens.

Are Colts fans obsessed with the Pats?

Yes.

Just like Pats fans are obsessed with the Colts, Steeler fans are obsessed with the Pats, Ravens fans are obsessed with the Steelers, etc.

Every fanbase has one or two teams they are obsessed with.

just fan rivalry. We are going and surfing colts boards to find this in the first place so. it goes both ways

I wouldn't call them rednecks. Goobers is more like it.

But seriously, there is a lot of Colts and Jets talk here, and I imagine a lot of Pats talk on Colts and Jets boards. Why not? There is strong competition between Pats-Colts and a long rivalry between Pats-Jets.

What kind of fan is it that wouldn't get aroused talking about a bitter rival?

It's January in Indiana - what else do they have to do.

Think about what they have to look forward to after the Colts get knocked out of the playoffs and how many times the Pats did it to them.

:snob:

Tom Brady = To Colts Fans
Derek Jeter= To Red Sox Fans

You hate him because of his success against you, but admire the heck out of him because of his success against you.

Follow?:p
