Jason Whitlock. Another arrogant douchebag who'll get all defensive when reality hits him.

"7. Besides the New Orleans Saints, which 2-0 squad is the league's biggest fraud? The New England Patriots, of course.

One-possession victories over the Bills and the Jets do little to instill confidence. The Pats are headed to 2-2. They'll lose to a mediocre Denver squad this weekend and then they'll get spanked by Cincinnati and Bill Belichick will begin to miss all of the veterans he has let go."

I love how these idiots keep bringing up "one possession victories" as if the Pats were killing everyone in the last 5 years. I distinctly remember a 9-3 game against Cleveland, OT in Houston, among others and those seasons turned out pretty good I'd say.

He always rips the Pats for no apparent reason. I don't know why he has a bias. I always respond.

His e-mail is at the bottom of his column.

Given our record in recent years, maybe we should have a motto like, "just one possesion baby". I think Al would really appreciate that one.

I spent some time in KC. listened to whitlock on his local radio show there a couple of years ago before he went national. Whitlock is a pretty knowledgeable guy about the Chiefs and usually a common sense guy about football in general.

Sounds like he is just taking the party line held by most press idiots. maybe sucking up to that national audience at Pats expense ?? whatever, I still think he is ok commentator - even if I disagree with him.

If you don't mind, I'll take it a step further:

Jason Whitlock is a regular columnist for The Kansas City Star. He can be reached by e-mail at [email protected].

i understand that this email may be public, but what is the purpose of posting it here? so people on this board can harass him? thats not what this board is about.

How many points does one have to win by in the NFL??????

My understanding of the rules is a team only has to win by "1" point.

Lets see we beat Buffalo by 200 per cent of the minimum score required to win and we beat the Jets by by 700 per cent of the minimum score needed to win.

This approach to the games sounds just about as realistic as this dude's take on the games.

Oh by the way this guy should report after he sees the game rather then after he reads some other dudes report on the game.

This ain't a phone #. It's an email I got right off ESPN.com

I don't encourage harrassment. That would be bad.

But sharing differences in opinion I think is OK.

Who are you trying to kid? There is only one reason to post this email--so he can get floods of emails from Pats fans. That is harassment. If someone wanted to email him you said earlier that his email was on the site. You could have left it at that. We do not have a great relationship with ESPN (Insider), and stuff like this doesn't help. You cannot give one good reason why his email needs to be posted. You just want him to be flooded.

I'll tell you exactly why I posted it, and I promise you it had little to do with harrassment.

It's an issue of accountability.

So many so called journalist these days spout out a bunch of un-informed garbage. I would bet the kid's college fund that this guy's analysis of the game were relegated to watching ESPN NFL Countdown's highlight's

These guys can say whatever they want on the ultimate soapbox and get paid well to do so. So who holds them accountable?

The teams won't because they'll be subject to more criticism and their colleagues won't because of obvious reasons.

So who can hold them acountable? The fans themselves. If they want those emails posted for responses, what's wrong with giving folks the ability to do so?

Why is it you think he cares about your opinion? He doesnt care one bit. You nor any Pats fan can hold him accountable. You just want revenge against a foolish article, so flood his email with hate mail. thats all. let ian decide. i reported it. it is innapropriate.

He may not care but the email is posted over at ESPN precisely so people can give feedback.

Whitlock was the moron who heckled Pats fans, calling Bledsoe "gay", during the 40-10 spanking of the Chiefs in '98. He wrote a pseudo-apology for ESPN's Page 2 a couple of years later, recounting the time some anonymous reporter crossed a line during that game and didn't reveal who he was writing about until the final line. I didn't get all riled up when he did that nor demand an apology nor really care much when he wrote his contrition. The whole thing just reminded me that there are a lot of juvenile clowns for sports reporters and they are not to be taken seriously. His latest comment is further proof of that.

Regards,
Chris

So if your so sure he's not gonna care about my or anyone elses opinion, why this overwhelming sense of self-righteousness on your part to prevent folks from challenging his column?

The problem I'm having is that you've ordained yourself this oasis of goodness, and that everyone's going to send him "hate" mail. I just sent him an email, and challenged him on the facts.

It's not in my nature to show hatred toward someone over football and I give my folks on here more credit than you do, that such activity would occur.

His analysis is flawed for 2 reasons - 1) we knelt on the ball inside the 20 in the Buffalo game with over a minute to go; theorhetically we would have added 3 more and possibly 7 more; 2) the offense got us ahead 24-0 against the Jets and the defense relaxed, once on a fluke play where the guy should have been down, but by fluke he kept his knee 1/2 inch from the ground. Are the Eagles a fraud because not only did they let the Giants back into the game, they actually lost? Except for Willie, who hasn't exactly been tearing it up in Cleveland, what veterans did we lose on defense? What a load of BS. Did anyone e-mail this to Rodney?

Slagathor, just take the link to this article to the ColdHardFootballFacts and I promise you they will make mince meat of him. That is, if they haven't already.

yes i agree that feedback is a good thing, but taking the email from that page and posting it in a place where all the readers will hate his opinion for the purpose getting those readers to respond is harassment. just like you say, "posted on ESPN" not pats.com. there is no need for it here. if a reader feels like responding to the espn article, then great. don't rally the writers enemies at another site and launch an attack.

now you are just being a butthead. there is no need to trash me. good for you to challenge him. you dont need to try to get the world to disagree with him. there is no need to post his email here. you have not come up with one good reason why it needs to be here. there is no reason to make this personal and start name calling.

Dig.

My intention was not to name call, and If I offended you I apologize.

But IMHO you slightly overreacted. I maybe wrong, it wouldn't be the first time, but that's what I think.
