This is assinine! I don't like trading Moss and think we should've kept him, but the Pats are still 3-1 and have Brady at QB. Anyone who gives up the season at this point because we no longer have Moss is an ***clown.

I think it was over before they traded away their best offensive weapon and, unless Jim Brown reincarnated is forthcoming, I don't see how that changes with Moss now gone.

Moss has 9 catches for 130 yards and 3 TDs. He does draw coverages away from other receivers, but it isn't like he has been a huge part of the offense. In fact, several CBs have pretty much shut him down. It will definitely make it tougher to win, but the season is definitely not over.

Football season must suck for you if your team goes 3-1 and you're already throwing in the towel.

I got to believe they have a plan for this. Maybe making room for a superstar defenseman. I don't think all is lost here. When I first heard about this I was thinking wtf myself. But the Pats don't make alot of mistakes when it comes to personel. We will be fine have some faith. Remember how many championships did Moss bring us. 0!!!

Do you think Zdeno Chara can be a deep threat?:rolleyes:

This is a very sad day for me.. I loved having Randy here and watching him play. But trading him for a 3rd rounder makes me think something was up. As we all have seen lately how fragile team chemistry can be, especially with all the young guys. Perhaps we were about to see bad Randy and I would rather have no Randy than bad Randy. It's just sad... I was hoping for a great year and an extension for Moss. Maybe I was dreaming.

All that said this season is not over by a longshot

Moss traded, V. Jackson signed, Pats to the Superbowl, Pats win, Moss cry like a baby....end of story. :D

This team won't score more than 10-points next week against the leagues best D. Bad trade. Bad move. Once again they get cheap at the expense of winning.

Pats 41
Miami 14
Moss-zero catches, not even targeted.

Now that I think about it this may be good for TFB in a way. We never had Moss when we won those Super Bowls and Brady's favorite reciever was alway "The open one"

Still.... Wow...

No the difference is that the Pats had top 5 defenses during those superbowl years. The Pats defense this year is terribly suspect. The offense has been the unit keeping our team on the plus side of the win column or did you miss the shootout versus Buffalo where the Pats defense made Ryan Fitzpatrick look like the second coming of Jim Kelly??

No chance!

We still have Brady! That alone means a season isn't over!

A pundit on WEEI is speculating that the Moss trade is a salary dump move by the Krafts, and nothing more.

Doubt it. If that's the case, then the sooner the Krafts relinquish control of this team, the better. No. Something happened behind the scenes that was bad enough to warrant this.

And no, the season isn't over. But it just got a lot more interesting. How these guys respond will give us an idea of just what kind of team we have moving into the future. Are they going to sink into oblivion, or are they going to rise up to the challenge of playing without one of the elite playmakers in the game?

I voted no. I hate the trade. Want to say that first. But, I was very impressed with the younger guys and their interviews after the game Monday. Team game. everyone does their job. If someone isn't buying in, Belichick thinks it's addition by subtraction. I don't feel that way. Maybe he does and he has to convince everyone to buy in.

Doesn't completely suck no.

But I've known for some time now that this team is in rebuild mode and have accepted that this team isn't going to be hoisting the Lombardi this year. Now, with Moss gone, even moreso.

I am still optimistic for the future though.

We used to be able to see who had voted in these polls but it now seems insensitive to any action that would produce that information. I wouldn't be surprised to see that many of the 20% are visiting fans of other teams.

You still can, if the person who creates the poll makes voting public.

This mess totally ruined my day.

While I'm disappointed Moss was traded, the season is far from over. I'm thinking it's better to get something in return for him if the Patriots are truly going in a different direction next season and plan not to sign him.

Good luck in Minnesota Randy with Brett.

I think that when the dust settles, we will all realize that this was a good thing for the Pats! This was starting to turn into a huge distraction for them. Team chemistry goes a long way towards winning! Exciting days are ahead!

Season's not over, but I don't see how this is an upgrade.

This puts the spotlight not only on unproven guys like Tate, Edelman, and Hernandez, but also for the vets to pick it up a little bit more.

The key is O'Brien. How is he going to devise his scheme without the biggest x-factor in Moss?

Much as I hate the trade (especially for the poor compensation) and the fact that this does weaken the offense, the season is far from over. For once there is no dominant team that has a clear route to the SB, all teams have issues. Can the Patriots still get to the off-season, absolutely. Do we need some no-name to step forward and have a break-out season, yes and some are already heading in that direction. But if this removes a negative force from locker room and sidelines maybe its the best that can be achieved.

I didn't expect to be in the SB this season anyway, nor did I expect Randy to be a Patriot next season. So far my expectations are in line with where we are, my hopes and dreams however are somewhat dented. TB/RM combo was magic - sigh

Thanks for reading my mind!

And for most teams rebuild mode constitutes 3 wins TOTAL.

You don't have a damn CLUE how good we have it. Why don't you open your eyes and take a look around the rest of the NFL.
