Reiss: Outburst was with O'Brien, not Belichick

Last time I checked Bill O'brien was the OC of the #1 offense in the NFL

I actually thought Bill O'Brien called a good game Monday night. It was a nice mix of run and pass and kept the Dolphins D guessing. I would have liked to see a play action thrown in here and there, but overall it was a very well called game.

Hey Billy thats because Moss was part of the offense. He was a decoy. This guy's playbook is awful! Its so simplistic.

With Favre as QB, I'm pretty sure you will see a boatload on INT's as he needs to keep Randy happy. Plus - that play action sure is easy to sell when you have someone like Adrian Peterson in your backfield.
Already readying the rationalizations I see

Did you just offer Childress as an example counter-point to a coaching doofus.

This has got to be the post of the day.

Seriously, thank you.
Play caller not coaching. Childress can't coach a lick.

So...during or after every big Patriots win this season our premier WR who had asked to be traded has some sort of an unsettling outburst, effectively pissing in the party punch bowl? Were I BB I would like to think I had the sack to take action as he did.

If this is true, and I have to assume that it is, the situation was indeed sufficiently toxic that a trade was an absloute necessity.

Outbursts during a game over play-calling and "getting my touches" can't be put up with, period.

I liked the game called by O'Brien on Monday, it had a nice balance and no force it to Moss every time. Maybe that is why the O has been so pass oriented previously, to keep Moss happy. I am sure Moss wanted nice stats in his contract year.

Maybe you should draw up some plays and submit them to Bill or even enlighten us here with them great one.

I thought everyone would just criticize BB for trading Moss all year, but now people will judge O'Brien's play calling too. Nothing good really came of this trade, but if Moss truly acted unprofessional like that then it had to be done. In fact it makes the 3rd round pick even more appealing.

I don't quite get it... I hated the trade until I heard this, but insubordination like this changes everything for me. Others say no?

O'Brien is a doofus. Moss is the only player on the team with any guts to call him out for what he is.

Watch and see how Childress uses Moss from here on out.

You mean watch and see how Favre uses Moss. Childress is a moron and Favre does what he wants anyway. With Favre finally getting his dream of playing with Moss, I see him throwing to him 50 times a game!

Maybe he needed to go but the guy wanted an extension. We didnt give it to him.I think he felt underappreciated.

I feel under-appreciated and underpaid but I don't go screaming to my manager about it or moping around

There's a right way and a wrong way

So it's O'Brien's fault Moss wasn't getting any separation from Vontae Davis? Good to know.

Just watched a bunch of clips pinpointing Moss vs Davis and he was getting wide open on some of these plays. Cant believe they didnt throw him more passes.

While O'Brien is a doofus, claiming that Moss is the only player with "guts" on the team is pretty stupid.

People also need to remember that the game plan is set by BB, Brady, and others. Not just O'Brien. And it's executed by Brady and the offense. Brady is the common denominator here. As I said earlier, Brady makes his pre-snap reads and goes through his progressions.. If he sees that Moss is going to be doubled, I'm sure that, mentally, he moves Moss down in his list of progressions. Randy has been around long enough to know that.

As for how Childress uses Moss from here on out, who cares. The Vikings are not the Patriots. The teams have no similarities in their games and the strengths of the offenses are different. No to mention that Brett Favre has thrown more Ints than TDs..

Perhaps Moss got into a shouting match with O'Brien at halftime and then got into another shouting match with Belichick yesterday (possibly because of the incident at halftime). According to Florio, Moss and Belichick have had problems all season.

According to Florio, Moss was traded before TC ended on the 2008 season.

I don't believe that Moss had a "shouting match" with Moss yesterday.

Exactly.. That was a TD if Brady's throw was on the mark.

Moss had both hands on that ball, it should have been caught. I think Moss wasn't really playing with his full attention on what was happening on the field. Remember this was one of the last plays of the half, right before him and Bill OB reportedly got in a verbal dispute in the locker room.

Better than what you've been posting. Maybe you could actually use some facts instead of fantasy every now and then.

We won our 3 superbowls with a "dink and dunk" offense. We lost our superbowl with the "longball" offense.
