Stopping Jets offense

Thats the same with Red Sox and Yanks....however Yanks are Yanks...and Red Sox are the Mets...LOL

I guess I'll have some fun with you before you get banned.

You are an idiot and delusional. The Jets are not getting any better. They went all in for this year. A lot of your players have contract expiring after this year.

On the other hand, we have a very young defense, and we're 9-2, and we have essentially 3 1st round pick coming for next season (because our 2nd round will be very high).

We're only going to get better. You are not.

You wanna talk bout how bad Sanchez is...and I just wanna talk team vs. team....lets talk how your secondary will stop Holmes, Edwards and Keller...or how the jets have won 2 of last 3...

Or how the Jets are squeaking by every single team that they are heavily favored against. Or how both your running backs have looked increasingly average in recent weeks. Or how your QB can't complete 55% of his passes and is the most feast or famine player in the league. Or how the secondary has seemed pretty exploitable against competent passing offenses.

Or maybe how the Jets ******* suck and haven't been to a SuperBowl in 40 years and their fans still feel entitled enough to come to another team's messageboard to talk crap.

You would really take Jason Campbell and Colt McCoy over Sanchez to start a franchise with?

Jason Campbell hasn't played bad football in Oakland. Neither is Colt McCoy in Cleveland. Neither of those guys have the offensive talent around them that Sanchez does. Both guys can lead their team to put points on the board while Sanchez struggles to do so. The way I see it, nobody is doing less with more in this league than Sanchez. Aside from Rivers, nobody is doing more with less than Brady is.

Well this has really denigrated since I left. I don't see how you Jets fan come to a Patriots board and tell us to stop posting about Sanchez when the thread is about stopping the Jets offense. Sanchez is the Jets' quarterback and is pertinent to the discussion. If you don't like that the general consensus on PatsFans.com about Sanchez is that he is overhyped and overrated, don't post here.

Jason Campbell has had a substellar career and has certainly allready peaked. After this season he may never start in the nfl ever again.

Colt McCoy has made 5 starts.

I just don't see how you can take those guys over Sanchez who has shown promise, and is putting up significantly better stats than last year.

Sanchez is on pace for putting up extremely simillar yardage and td totals to Ryan and Flacco in their second years. Would you take Campbell and McCoy over them too?

And this idea that Sanchez can not lead the jets to points is absolutely ridiculous. He has 16 TD's through 11 games. Jason Campbells career high was 20.

Sanchez performs well on his 1st read of a D. If forced out of the pocket he rolls right well and can improvise and throw on the run. His notable weaknesses include throwing to the left (he can do it but is less successful there) and worst of all reads beyond the initial take on the D. A defense that can disguise itself enough to fool a 1st look should have some success and force mistakes. The young inexperienced Pats D in game one was not capable of many different looks and disguises. The learning and maturing Pats D that defeated Peyton Manning, the master of reading defenses, will be a formidable obstacle to The Sanchise.

Besides the WR threats, this D must also deal with his 2 security blankets, Lady T out of the backfield and Keller over the middle. Keller is by far the greater challenge for the Pats.

The Jets won the last 2 games.... how many times have they won the division?

I said 2 out of last 3....

Just wait for Monday, dude. Sit back, relax, and enjoy as the Patriots' outer adult disciplines the Jets' inner child.

I love the jets so much...they have been great that last decade and won almost every division champ.....man no way the pats can compare..the pats haven won a SB since 1969!

same way they stopped the Moss, Harvin, AP, Shianco. Don't act like you have some unstoppable offensive juggernaut.
edit: don't take that literally just know that our defense can step it up and make you one dimensional.

Colt McCoy just doesn't have the physical tools and has only played in a handful of games.

It is hard to assess him on such a short nfl resume.

As well could be said for Sanchez. Don't annoint him the king yet, he has far too many interviews to do.

Let's see the Jets score 24.0 ppg, good for 12th in the NFL.
Meanwhile the Pats score 30.4 ppg, good for 1st in the entire NFL.
So is the Jets offense some kind of unstoppable machine? Nope it averages about a TD less per game than the Pats offense. I think the Jets should be more concerned about stopping Tom Brady and the Pats who just put up 45 large on the Lions.

Is this gonna be a close game? Yup these games typically are, but should the Pats be favored to win? Absolutely, unless you live in New York or work for ESPN. ^_^

does anyone wanna talk actual football in here?
Most of the people here actually do; it's just this thread got very sidetracked.

How about this: help us understand the Jets better. Tell us three reasons why the Jets should be concerned and why they could lose next week. And three reasons why they could win. Not something superficial like 'Jets are better at every position', but something concrete.

I'll give you a (not so great) example off the top of my head:
"Pats should be concerned because they have trouble stopping opponents on third down. Detroit's Brandon Pettigrew had five receptions for 67 yards Thursday and last Sunday Jacob Tamme had 7 catches for 60 yards. The Pats need to do a better job of defending the opposing tight end against Dustin Keller or the Jets will make enough crucial third down conversions to win the game."

I'm serious, I do want to see some pre-game analysis. We've had great conversations with fans from Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and other teams before games this year. Give both positives and negatives and folks will respond.

We must have some success at running the ball and keep Brady and the offense off the field as much as possible. We will not win a shootout. Also your TE's and the underneath routes scare me a bit.It hasn't been the big pass plays that kill us just the underneath crossing routes and if a team has some speed at TE then it could be a problem. But it will be very interesting Mon..

I'll admit I'm a Jets fan...but respect Brady and Belichick a ton...they are fantastic...I honestly think the Pats will beat the Jets Monday....but the fun is just waiting for it...knowing its probably biggest game of year in AFC maybe NFL...until the playoffs...

As for Jets O Line...Mangold, Brick are pro bowlers...

Woody was

and Brandon Moore is a stud and will make pro bowl this year...

*ROFLMAO*

If we are going to count like that, then the Pats have 3 Pro-Bowlers in Light, Mankins and Koppen. Not that the Pro-Bowl is anything other than a popularity contest.

Brandon Moore is a scrub. He's not a Pro-Bowler.

In Foxboro to I might add.

If i was starting a franchise these would be my top 15 qb's to take:

1. Peyton Manning
2. Tom Brady
3. Drew Brees
4. Phillip Rivers
5. Aaron Rodgers
6. Michael Vick
7. Ben Roethlisberger
8. Matt Ryan
9. Eli Manning
10. Tony Romo
11. Sam Bradford
12. Joe Flacco
13. Mark Sanchez
14. Josh Freeman
15. Kevin Kolb

Matt Stafford, Josh Freeman, and Kevin Kolb are all better than Sanchez. I'd also add Matt Cassel and Kyle Orton to that list.
