Note to everybody in this thread:

Although you may believe that you are providing a service by announcing what happens with a Pats' draft pick before it is announced on TV ...

DON'T DO IT!!!

The others in this thread have made it abundantly clear that they would prefer to wait and see and hear for themselves.

In addition there is another thread for discussion on other picks: http://www.patsfans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard/10/750181-offical-nfl-draft-thread.html
If you want to say something like 'hey, look, the Cowboys took that ILB' that has nothing to do with the Pats, then go post it over there.

thanks

I agree with everything but the last. Its nice to call out the draft order, and who is going where, with a brief commentary on the quality of the pick. So far its been brief and has added to things for me.

People don't get that NE doesn't need a power back... BJGE is a powerback.. not like a mendehall but a powerback... North to south runner....

Daniel thomas in a north to south runner... Vereen is a east to west back... thats what NE needs
Vereen looks like a guy who can play all downs.
BB has always preferred to have 2 RBs who split time and a 3rd down back to go with them.
Dillon/Maroney started it and the acquisitions of Morris, Taylor, etc had that in mind IMO.
When all were healthy, he seemed to like the idea best of alternating the top 2 by every few series.
You end up with 2 guys get 150-200 carries. That seems to be the perfect role for Vereen, who can also stay on the field on 3rd down.
He looks to be the fastest, quickest back we have had in a while.

So who's the guy who puts pressure on the QB? Oh, never mind that's not really important anyway. Who's the best available cornerback on the board?

You clearly missed Jermaine Cunningham's sack last season.

Another season of Ninkovich and Tully!!!! brilliant bb

BB has got a lot invested into Ninkovich. He and Cunningham are better with a healthy Warren and Bodden back in the lineup.

Also...I'm pretty darn sure Cunningham'll be a 16-game starter this year, health concerns (cross my fingers) notwithstanding.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure this board has completely forgotten about Cunningham.

IF you are talking about 3 down backs, I believe Maroney was faster. If you are talking about backs in general...

I wish the pats never went 16-0... idiot fans keep comparing every season to that.

Its really a shame

I could see people's frustrations with the Pats not drafting a pass rusher yet. But injuries on the DL, a rookie pass rusher in Cunningham and less than spectacular DB play (McCourty the exception) had alot to do with that.

Ty Warren back, Bodden back, McCourty in his second year, and another stud CB. The pass rush will be better because they will be allowed to blitz a bit more. Cunningham should be better too.

At least I hope.....:)

not sure where the rules come that if your tv is slower than the internet you cant talk about it until someone says so... just sayin. we are on an internet form.

With 4 of the first 60 picks, you would think that might have been the place to take care of that.

seriously, our money needs to go to Pass Rush, Mankins and WR in that order.

Really, faster and quicker than Woodhead?? Really?

yeah that really ended well:bricks:

Well... would you rather be the jets? 1 pick through 66 picks as of now

would you rather have

Solder, Vareen and dowling or Wilkerson?

LOL

You clearly missed Jermaine Cunningham's sack last season.

Sadly it was a fumble. Cunningham has never successfully tackled a qb.

OK, they have forced me to start drinking....

Maybe, like the fat girls in the bar, this draft will look a little better after I have had a few..(or a 12 pack).

I have a feeling this is going to be a great draft. We've got a LT, a tall CB and a RB. My bet is we get two more players and trade a 3rd into next years 2nd, giving us 2 first round picks and 2 second round picks. :D
