I personally thought Warren was getting tossed around like a rag doll late last year. Thought he was awful.

agreed and thought he looked terrible in the last pre season game - superbad

Against the run he was. Against the pass, he was at least decent. He's not a starter for us, and never has been. But as an interior rusher in subpackages, he's a good bargain.

1) I guess Warren is inactive for the Miami game. Perhaps Warren will be back after that game.

2) I expect that Tarp will be active and have another injury. In any case, I don't understand what Belichick sees in Tarp. If we want to have a developmental OL on the 53, then our man is Edds.

3) Maybe Warren was in camp as insurance in case on of the FOUR acquistions didn't work out. We added Ellis, Haynsworth, Carter and Anderson. Perhaps Warren simply wasn't needed. Just maybe, we have enough defensive linemen without him on the 53-man roster.

4) Pryor is signed though 2012 and provides position flexibility. He is a perfect patriot, and has done very well. I was not surprise to see Pryor stay over Warren.

BOTTOM LINE
Warren is at the bottom of our DL depth chart.

The Tarp situation is not particulary relevant to Warren, although I would have preferred to see Tarp cut. Tarp has a special teams position instead of a 5th safety. If we sign a safety, Tarp or Ihedigbo should go (Belichick chosing between the special teamers). He could cut White, but White is needed for every game as one of our top special teamers.

Rumors from sources are hinting that those close to high level brass in the Patriots are telling some that the move to release Warren is to sign coveted free agent Adam Seward.

End Scene.

I hate him but it's got nothing to do with anything he's done during his time here. Hope he's back, although the Thursday teams will have a negotiating advantage.

I just wet myself

Put me in the shadow roster camp should we be struck by the DL injury plague, Wright get a concussion or Hanesworth revert to recent form. For all the right reasons, I hope to say farewell to Mr Warren.

I heared it was to make room for Moss.

Well we've got Spikes, Mayo, Fletcher, Nink, and Guyton as our primary linebackers with White not really counting as a contributor on defense. Having Tarpinian available makes sense since we only have five guys. With Edds being added, they may more closely evaluate him in the coming week to determine whether or not they want to keep him or cut him. If they do want to keep him, then they will have to decide whether they might as well add Tarpinian to IR. If so, then they could bring back Warren.

Warren will be back, Belichik apparently alluded to it this morning.

The guy was out all preseason with an injury, he didn't even practice.
If you're referring to Tarpinian, that's not true. He played in the first pre-season game, taking over at line-backer for Fletcher. I remember because I was surprised that, like Fletcher, he had the green dot on his helmet which I believe means he was receiving and calling the defensive signals. That struck me as highly unusual for a rookie playing in his first game, particularly an un-drafted free agent. Anyway, it was either during that game or right after it when he was hurt. I believe Ferentz (sp) was his college coach and he (Ferentz) has a history with BB.

Adam Seward jokes? That was old 3 years ago..

David Patten not making the team jokes were 3 years ago.

Seward is eclipsing...I know...

Is Matt Roth the new Seward?

So can the 1980s Celtics play football?

Didn't Butler pave the way for Da Gronk? I think we used this spot for Edds.

Edds is some silly pysch-out signing (Miami). Warren should be back after Monday Night...unless some team comes alond and gives him an offer that blows him away.
