Molden Was Beat But VY Gave Him a Gift

Man, if Brady hadn't thrown 4 picks int he Buffalo game, the Patriots would be 9-2...

If this, if that, woulda, coulda, shoulda............

We could play that game all day long on any loss. Those picks weren't all Brady's fault either. Some of those were ricochets.

The Pats are still looking fine at 8-3 right now and tied for the lead in the AFC. They just need to keep winning and the rest should take care of itself. Take care of the division first, and then worry about seeding.

I'm not sure why you're trying to take a shot at my other team simply for pointing out that Molden isn't a good player to be out there on a regular basis. Taking a shot at the Texans who have been smothered with injuries in their first season where they finally looked like contenders is pretty low class especially from a fan that experienced something similar with Brady a few years ago. I hated losing Brady myself that year. Molden was a problem on the Texans for years despite high expectations early on. He was a waste man. He most likely won't be starting next season in NE, but he'll be playing a lot for now and that concerns me. He seems to be out of place a lot when I watch him.

Please........."Smothered with injuries"???????

The Patriots don't whine about injuries.

They won a Super Bowl in 2001 with a 3rd string QB and in 2004 with Hank Poteat, Earthwind Moreland, Troy Brown, Raymond Burr and Ethel Merman in their secondary.

They won 3 in a row over NYJ, KC and Philly with Molden, John Quincy Adams, Mary Tyler Moore and James I Had a Brew. Hell, they are playing Julian Edelman on defense.

Man up. NFL teams are 53 deep. No excuses.

You seem to show your ignorance every time you post to where I'm in awe of just how stupid you really are.

None of that even remotely compares to losing your 1st string RB who is arguably the best in the league for a few games, then your #1 WR who is arguably the best WR in the league for like 6 or 7 games, then losing your top DE who is a top 5 DE in the league type of guy for the rest of the season, and all the while being 7-3 you then lose your starting QB, and then after that losing your 2nd string QB on top of that. No one whined about injuries for ****, until even the 2nd string QB went down. The Texans have been the anti complain team as far as that goes, but at some point it's just to much when you're down to the 3rd string QB who is some rookie out there. That's common sense.

Those aren't just injuries. Those are injuries to all of your star players on your team. Your franchise players at that. To suggest what you tried to put up as a comparable example is literally one of the dumbest things you've said yet.

You'd think that as a Patriot fan you'd have understood what that was like when Tom Brady went down and the season was basically over as far as having any SB hopes, but you just spout off nonsense like any typical arrogant fan on the web. You're an embarrassment to the Patriot fan base honestly.

Depends what you mean by "beat".....a perfectly thrown ball may have been a touchdown. Maybe. That's the case a lot of times with perfectly thrown balls no matter how close the coverage. Bottom line is he was close enough to pick off an underthrown ball and Vince Young was throwing, who throws a lot of underthrown balls. DeSean Jackson outruns a lot of QBs arms too, so it can be deceptive.

I'd say the coverage was good and helped make the play.

We could use a hitter like Merman, I'll tell you that. Makes Rodney look like a wuss. The thing about Molden is, the Tex poster is bemoaning an under performing draft pick, but we get to see him as bad compared to street scrubs.

Oh well, hope BB's right and I'm wrong - usually a pretty safe bet.

The fact that he was bad and under performing in Texas is irrelevant. Its how he performs HERE. Its how he accepts THIS coaching. Its how he fits into THIS defensive system.

It would seem that people who are in a lot better situation to judge performance believe that Molden has either performed well enough or has shown that he's improved over time to be worthy of a roster spot.

Why Adams was released over Brown will always remain a mystery for me. But we don't get to look at the coaches tape. We don't know what defense was called. We aren't aware of the on field adjustments that are made to respond to the opponents formations, personnel groups, and motions. And we aren't knowledgeable enough to make judgments on the results

And what does it matter anyway? Issues like this shrink to irrelevance, when faced with REAL questions, like, "why is it we have to add an "e" after the "g" in knowledgeable, and we don't when we spell judgment. Now THAT's a REAL question. :D

2001: Pats lose Bledsoe, Glenn gets kicked off the team and the 3rd string QB gets thrown into the fire at 0-2 with no QB coach (had suddenly passed away 4 weeks earlier). Championship.

2003: Pats lead the NFL in games lost to injury. Championship

2004: Pats again lead the lead in games lost to injury. Championship

2008: The Greatest QB in the NFL goes down for the season in the first 5 minutes of the opening game. 11-5 season. You call that a season that was "basically over as far as having any SB hopes" - - that's horse manure. They went 11-5 and were the hottest team in the NFL down the stretch. Were it not for the quirkiest of tiebreakers, became the second team in the 16 game NFL season history to miss out on the playoffs.

Sack up and quit your whining. Maybe you can get away with that on an Indy or jet board but our team's successful history with injuries makes your crybaby whine ridiculous.

Again, not one of those seasons was anywhere close to the amount of injuries to "significant" players on the Patriots. Not even close. You're ignorance is astounding and you're just a homer who spouts off stuff on the web as some internet tough guy and uber fan. I bet you probably became a Patriots fan after their 2ned SB or something. At the end of the day you're just an embarrassment to the Patriots fan base and out here where I live where there aren't a lot of fellow Patriot fans I hear Patriots get bashed a lot and I have to hear a lot of bad stereotypes because of people like you who don't even deserve to root for a winner.

We only got on this subject because you disagreed with a certain comment, and because of that you decided to take a shot at someone else's team. What are you 12? Stop embarrassing your fan base.

The name calling is gratutitous and does nothing to support the argument you are trying to make.

I didn't need to make a strong argument. I was talking to an uninformed fan boy that feeds himself off of internet wars and taking shots at other teams to get his kicks off on the internet. I came to talk football with fellow Patriot fans since I don't live around many. The thread was about Molden as a player and because I wasn't excited about Molden playing here, my other team was insulted for no reason and then a ton of really ignorant comments were thrown around by the same poster who does this any time someone doesn't agree him. He is an embarrassment to the Patriots fan base and I stand by that statement.

Misssion accomplished! :D

All in all, Mr. Texxx, best of luck to your valiant team which is bravely navigating this "unprecedented" injury storm in the WORST DIVISION IN PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL.

How unfair for your team to be in that AFC South! Those other teams are 9-24!!!!!

Waaaahhhhhhh!

Pats fans don't whine about the injustice of injuries. We've seen teams in 2001, 2003, 2004 and, yes, 2008 overcome things that would cripple all other franchises (including YOUR historically pathetic underachievers).

So, go ahead, keep ignoring the SUBJECT and just go after me personally. By doing that, you show everyone here that you are the definition of "all hat and no cattle".

All hat and no cattle?? Coming from a guy that actually thought there was one season that compared to losing two QB's, a league top RB, and a league top WR??? I've had to inform you about your own statements just so your own BS would be accurate. Lol!

Dude, you can play this little game all you want, but you're just embarrassing yourself by getting upset about Molden and Ocho Cinco being criticized. They're not good players. You can whine any time someone says something that isn't sunshine and lolipops about a Patriots player all you want, but it won't change anything. Going after the Texans just shows that you have no argument to use.

Have you had a LITERATE adult read you this thread????????

Yep, you're a Texan alright! :D :D :D

Except the season wasn't over when Brady got hurt. The team went 11-5 and was unfortunate when they did not make the playoffs. In fact, a strong argument can be made that the only team better in the AFC that year was Pittsburgh and they won SB 43.

Can Dowling even play again this season considering being placed on IR?

Absolutely not. Once placed on IR, you are off the 53 man roster, and done for the entire season.
