anybody else happy the jets are not going to the playoffs

Except for the Chargers game (currently losing 31-10 w/1 quarter to go), all AFC games have been decided for this week, so that takes out some of the variability. Just play around with Week 17's games. Interestingly, most if not all of next weeks games are divisional.

I'm in the minority with this one. I really wanted to take them out for the 3rd time this year.

I hate the fat trash talking coach and most of their fan-base. They think those 2 meaningless playoff runs give them a right to talk ****. Newsflash...you fell 2 games short.... STOP talking!

Maybe their next coach will build their o and D line depth ....but until that SOJ!

Hmmm...I guess it all depends on how the Texans play it...They can go for the jugular and knock a division rival out..However, they may not want to show their hand because they will have to play the 6th seed regardless which may be Tenn. in two weeks! I don't know..honestly, it may work in the Pats favor if the Jets make it and somehow beat the Texans in the first round. Otherwise, we may be stuck beating Pitts and Baltimore back to back just to get to the SB...

However, I bet losing head-to-head to all those teams at the beginning of the season will kill the Jets.

I doubt the Rats win next week..

both and denver and oakland have as good a chance as any to win which could be trouble for the jets

Also after 2008 it pisses me off to no end seeing all these 8-7 teams in position to make the playoffs. So annoying

bungles / ratbirds game next week should be good. bungles win and they are in, but then ratbirds fall to 5 seed in squelers win. both teams have lots to play for.

Yes, the Jets are done..If you need 4 teams to help you, you are done! At least 1 will win and thus end their season...

So the Jets' needs are:

- beat the Phins in Miami (probably a 50/50 proposition)
- Tenn to lose to Hou (Unlikely - Hou has absolutely nothing to play for)
- Cincy to lose to Balt (better than 30/70 though Balt is a .500 road team)
- Raiders lose to SD or Denver lose to KC (high probability 1 of these happens)

I think it is fair to say the Jets are up against the odds. However, the scenarios above all working in favor of the Jets is not a wild long shot by any means. Personally, I think the unlikeliest scenario is the Jets winning.

I think they will beat Miami since they will prob pack it in anyways, but I doubt they get all the help to get in..That lost to Tebow a few weeks ago is looming large.

(Beating the Jets 2x -AND- they don't make the playoffs)>>(beating them 3x)

I would enjoy a 3rd win over them, but that would also mean they'd have to win at least one playoff game for another showdown.

The jets aren't going anywhere. I'm sick and tired of Rex & his gimmicks. He's probably still going to gaurentee the jets are going to win the SB even if they're eliminated! I couldn't be more happy!

You are so right here......maybe they need to fix the system so that you AT LEAST have to win 10 games. The Pats went what, 11-5 in 2008 and somehow MISS the playoffs.....that is RIDICULOUS!..........F'Goodell.....Merry xmas

Nah. I thought it was awesome when Seattle made the playoffs last year at 7-9. Just makes the NFL more interesting.

I don't see how the Jests make it in....they would be 9-7 IF they beat Miami....and that is a big IF......So, if Denver wins they are eliminated No matter what? What scenario allows these douche bags to back in for another year???????
