The Patriots offense, coaching staff, and special teams lost this game...not the refs.
As bad as the Pats were, they won that game if it wasn't for nothing short of a blown call by some scab who should be in charge of some flag football game not an NFL game.
I'm not going there. The Cardinals played with more heart than the Patriots for most of the games. They deserved the win. I do wish someone would explain what grounding is to these new refs, though.
The refs were letting the players play for the entire game.
Then Woodhead scores a touchdown that wouldve sealed the game in the final minute. Suddenly the ref becomes active and calls a holding on Gronkowski for something that should have never been called. You know holding happens on EVERY play, so why choose the most important play of the game to call it? And on top of that, the replay showed Gronk didn't even hold!
It's mind baffling and pathetic. Weather its personal bias or the fix was in, there is NO DOUBT that referee didn't want the Patriots to win the game.
Now everyone will say "its our own fault, the game never should've been that close anyways. We're lucky we even got that fumble recovery" Yadda yadda yadda..... whatever. We should've won fair and square. The Patriots were robbed.
Time for NFL to bring the real refs back. These replacements are costing teams games, costing playoff standings, etc.... Its a disgrace to the NFL.
By the way, while the run was called back, Danny Woodhead gave a hearty "screw you" to those who were all for running him out of town.
Bull****. We lost because the referee took a Touchdown away from us in the last minute that would've given us the Win.
im more worried about the hernandez injury than the loss.
i don't think hernandez would have made a difference in the quality of how the offense played today. brady was awful.
It wasn't a bad call and it certainly wasn't some ref who "wanted" the Patriots to lose.
The Patriots clearly lost this game all on their own.
I agree but coaches better get on themselves because they were a big part of this one today.
Really. From Brady's first pass of the game for an interception, to the shanked kick, they just didn't have it today.
As he has done so many times, called the most pitiful offensive plays for most of the game. Even with the loss of Hernandez, there still was enough talent to win the game if the play calling wasn't at high school level.
McDainiels, obviously, doesn't understand that if something is not working, to continue doing it and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity.
Getting into position for FOUR field goals only, without getting it into the end zone has to be the fault of the offensive coordinator, for the most part.
Belichick needs to ream him a new you know what. And, for that matter, BB should have been all over him to begin with for the pee poor game he was calling. NO EXCUSES.
Actually I saw Danny Woodhead make a beautiful game winning touchdown run behind some solid blocking.
Looks like they wanted to win to me. The refs took it away though.
