By the way, while the run was called back, Danny Woodhead gave a hearty "screw you" to those who were all for running him out of town.

Re: A Ref did NOT want us to win that game.

Ridiculious sentiment.

The Patriots offense, coaching staff, and special teams lost this game...not the refs.

Really. From Brady's first pass of the game for an interception, to the shanked kick, they just didn't have it today.

Re: A Ref did NOT want us to win that game.

As bad as the Pats were, they won that game if it wasn't for nothing short of a blown call by some scab who should be in charge of some flag football game not an NFL game.

It wasn't a bad call and it certainly wasn't some ref who "wanted" the Patriots to lose.

The Patriots clearly lost this game all on their own.

Re: Everyone needs to calm down

If I am correct...
the offense played horrible our last game last year as well.
Starting to be a habit.

Re: A Ref did NOT want us to win that game.

I'm not going there. The Cardinals played with more heart than the Patriots for most of the games. They deserved the win. I do wish someone would explain what grounding is to these new refs, though.

How exactly are you measuring who played with more heart?

Re: A Ref did NOT want us to win that game.

The refs were letting the players play for the entire game.

Then Woodhead scores a touchdown that wouldve sealed the game in the final minute. Suddenly the ref becomes active and calls a holding on Gronkowski for something that should have never been called. You know holding happens on EVERY play, so why choose the most important play of the game to call it? And on top of that, the replay showed Gronk didn't even hold!

It's mind baffling and pathetic. Weather its personal bias or the fix was in, there is NO DOUBT that referee didn't want the Patriots to win the game.

Now everyone will say "its our own fault, the game never should've been that close anyways. We're lucky we even got that fumble recovery" Yadda yadda yadda..... whatever. We should've won fair and square. The Patriots were robbed.

Time for NFL to bring the real refs back. These replacements are costing teams games, costing playoff standings, etc.... Its a disgrace to the NFL.

I'm sure Ravens fans would disagree with you, that is exactly what happened to the Ravens in the 2007 season, the Pats had no business winning that game too, but the refs almost bailed them out, even though the REFS MADE THE RIGHT CALL, JUST LIKE THEY DID TODAY.

By the way, while the run was called back, Danny Woodhead gave a hearty "screw you" to those who were all for running him out of town.

We still want him out of town.......it's just that his value went up after the first quarter.

Bull****. We lost because the referee took a Touchdown away from us in the last minute that would've given us the Win.

Yes, that holding call was HORRIBLE, and the ref blew it. But we shouldn't have been in that position. If we had a decent punt protection or had any sort of rhythm on offense, we would have been fine. It's frustrating that a ref cost us the game, but this team cost us the game as well

Re: Everyone needs to calm down

im more worried about the hernandez injury than the loss.

i don't think hernandez would have made a difference in the quality of how the offense played today. brady was awful.

Same here. We were 5-3 at one point last year and ended up with a 1 seed.

If this team gets rolling, it's got a favorable schedule and a loss in week 2 practically might not matter. Health is most important right now IMO.

You don't think the holding call was a bad call? Really???????

Re: Josh McDaniels Was pitiful..... He cost us the game

Stop it. Ghost cost us the game, although he had plenty of help. I won't trust him again until he wins a game just like he lost this one. It can
n't be dressed up. He choked.

Re: Everyone needs to calm down

I almost never bash the coaching, as usually it is the players' fault, but Josh McD called one of the worst games I've seen in years for this team. He is so bent on making Lloyd the centerpiece of the offense. Not sure why Gronk and Welker are only potential targets about 20% of the time. Only when they went into desperation mode did they move away from the experiment gone wrong.

I agree but coaches better get on themselves because they were a big part of this one today.

everyone is accountable for today. hopefully they'll work real hard at practice this week, both coaches and players, and have a great game against baltimore. this is too good a team.

Re: Everyone needs to calm down

I am disappointed with the loss. But I saw some positive things especially in the running game and the defense. It was a non-conference opponent which minimizes the sting a bit.

It is one loss. If this is a trend, then I will get upset. I predicted this team to be 12-4. So I expected them to have some losses. The Cards' defense is a lot better than I gave them credit for.

Yeah...I think I said exactly the same thing.

Re: Josh McDaniels Was pitiful..... He cost us the game

As he has done so many times, called the most pitiful offensive plays for most of the game. Even with the loss of Hernandez, there still was enough talent to win the game if the play calling wasn't at high school level.

McDainiels, obviously, doesn't understand that if something is not working, to continue doing it and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity.

Getting into position for FOUR field goals only, without getting it into the end zone has to be the fault of the offensive coordinator, for the most part.

Belichick needs to ream him a new you know what. And, for that matter, BB should have been all over him to begin with for the pee poor game he was calling. NO EXCUSES.

Think first. THEN post.

Well all I can say is I hope that this Game was the annual stinker game and the Offense will be able to put the mistakes made in this game behind them.

Arizona put up a really good game and a good win for them.

Re: A Ref did NOT want us to win that game.

Actually I saw Danny Woodhead make a beautiful game winning touchdown run behind some solid blocking.

Looks like they wanted to win to me. The refs took it away though.

it was an iffy call, however there was no reason for gronk to put his hands on kerry rhodes......totally unnecessary as he didn't know where woodhead was....stupid mistake to block with his hands,15 yds downfield:bricks:

Re: Josh McDaniels Was pitiful..... He cost us the game

McDaniels didn't cost the Pats the game. The Pats lack of proper execution cost the Pats the game. I will say, though, that it didn't help that I counted at least 3 face mask calls committed by the Cards that went uncalled and, of course, numerous holdings.. But that is the same regardless of who the refs are..

Donald Thomas did not have a good game for most of the game. Mankins had a couple of plays where Calais Campbell beat him.

Credit needs to be given to the Cards defense. They played one helluva game.

Re: Everyone needs to calm down

Losing at home to the Cardinals? How do you expect them to win games such as @Ravens, Broncos, Jets twice, Texans, and 49ers? They will lose the Ravens and 49ers games. The others, yeah, they're up in the air, but I would not favor the Patriots in any of them until they can prove that they remember how to play offense.
