Elephant in the Room -- Tom Brady's Mental block in big games

Maybe not, but its understandable. Considering the performace of the WR's,gronk is out, and ravens defense VS NE's defense that day.

People think that Brees is losing games by interceptions, and that the offense can not play of turf, both completely false, but you would think it if you didnt dig deeper, and just looked at wins and losses.

Truth is we had 2 WR's in the top 10, and Graham was #1 in dropped balls this year in the NFL. That put Brees in 3rd and 7, or 3rd and 12, depending on the bad run play. Which forced him to thread the needle to guys that were actually catching that day, and force interceptions. Looks like Brees was blowing it on paper, but if you watch the game, he was trying to save it, and had to push it.
Im glad he does that.

Saints offence on turf is simple. Look at the points, and you see we should have won, but the defense cant play out of the dome. Thats the problem. When did SF or seahawks ever put up 36 pts in a game, lol.

The thread is that Brady chokes, and that just means that the OP didnt feel like digging deeper. Bradys going to lose playoff games, but calling him a choker is pretty crazy.

Brady has won the SBs with deion branch, bethel johnson, troy brown, etc. there is no reason why he could have performed better with welker, lloyd and Ahern. We were all praisng brady for winning with crummy receivers in the pat, now gronk goes down and peopke have a thousand excuses for why they lost. It's either brady or the coaching that's the problem.

This is selective memory. Those superbowl teams didn't routinely put up many points and also had plenty of special teams and defensive assistance. You want to know why those 2001- 2004 teams were so successful? They won the turnover battles 6 - 25. That was in 9 games. In the 15 playoff games since they are 28 - 20. The defense has failed to get a single turnover in their last three playoff loses. THAT was their formula to winning superbowls.

That was on BB, not Brady. It might serve you to take in the post-game press conferences.

Please HOF GOAT QB should know to call timeout there. He should have been calling it as he was sliding down. Who gives a crap about some press conference. Hey look, I love Brady and hope he's the QB for 10 more years. I just think, probably because he has no faith in the defense and/or the offenseive line, he hasn't been himself in too many of these recent games. I mean, how come I don't get this sense when he plays these teams in the regular season? Do the Ravens and the Giants (and even the f--ing Jets for Christ's sake) become super teams in the post season?

Because, numbskull, BB EXPLAINED in his post-game press conference what he instructed Brady to do in that sequence of plays. Sorry if facts get in the way of your gleeful dumping on Brady.

Oh, so prior to his scramble, BB said if you happen to scramble and get tackeld with 20 seconds left. Try to get your slow ass up and gather everyone together and spike it. NOT BUYING IT. As I said, BRADY should have been calling for a timeout AS HE WAS SLIDING. He should have had his head out of his ass and understood the situation. You're kiliing me. Sh-t even if BB had given him general directions, Brady as the Field General should have understood that the facts at hand necessitated him immediately calling a timeout after that awful scramble.

And stop calling BB a numbskull. I understand you're trying to cover for Brady here, but he deserves more respect than that.

Your mother wears combat boots - and Tunescribe, rlcarr and pherein F--k you too
"Your mother wears combat boots..."???? LMFAO! Holy $h** I haven't heard that since I played Little League baseball and that was just before the Cuban Missle Crisis!!

You are one cawky twit. Since you're obviously too lazy to be informed, I'll do you the favor -- straight from BB's post-game press conference:

On what happened on the last drive in the first half and the fact by the time they got back to the line of scrimmage they only had four seconds left:

“Because if we had snapped the ball and run the play I think if we hadn’t scored, we wouldn’t of had time to get another play off. So we wanted to take the three points.”

On if there was any thought of calling in the immediate timeout after Tom Brady slid:

“Well, not really because I thought we could get up there and, whatever, we wanted to try and get up there and clock it and have time to run a play and have the timeout to kick the field goal. So no, not really. I guess if we had known that it would’ve taken as long as it did to get the football finally clocked, but then we didn’t get a great look on the play. Tom actually called timeout at the same time I did, so we just didn’t have it.”

And stop calling BB a numbskull. I understand you're trying to cover for Brady here, but he deserves more respect than that.

You misread. I was calling YOU a numbskull. You numbskull.

************. Here I'll say it more slowly: Even - if - BB - had - given - him - general - directions, - Brady as the Field General - should - have - understood -that - the -facts - at - hand - necessitated - him - immediately - calling - a - timeout - AS HE WAS SLIDING HE SHOULD HAVE UNDERSTOOD THIS. Do you not understand this error cost the team two chances to get it into the endzone? Even if you don't, Brady should have. And stop with the BB absolved Brady, did you expect anything else? Hell, even in his answer there is a clue that Brady at least shared responsibility. "we didn't get a great look on the play" well Brady did, he was on the f---ing field and should have been aware of the situation.

If BB's own words pertaining SPECIFICALLY to these events don't explain things for you satisfactorily, nothing will. He's the head coach. Your gripe is with BB -- not me, Brady, Bob Kraft or Santa Claus.

Nice try lawyer, but you left out, "but then we didn’t get a great look on the play." Now in light of that omission re-read my post.

I agree. TFB has close to carte blanche to over-ride a call where the context has changed enough to warrant the deviation.

It is indisputable that were he to call TO upon sliding, the Pats could have had time for a play into the EZ before settling for the FG. Watching this sequence was like a slow motion train wreck.

BB needs to look at clock management for 2013. A skill the early Pats with TB possessed but has deteriorated. Look at the fiasco before the half in Seattle.

Good job, way not to address my point. Do yourself a favor and drop it. It's OK.

I read your post. Your argument is just a poor one. BB had plenty of time to call the T.O. before he did. He could have stopped the bleeding any number of seconds before he did, once he got that great look.

Brady's just not that good anymore, he'll be lucky to win 8 games next season because he's not going to have a cupcake schedule he's used to having every year!!
