Do you guys see us picking up a WR this week?

It's amazing Brady was able to win a game with two short slot receivers as his only legit targets.

Re: Winning with this current receiver core is not sustainable

I don't. I think when Gronk returns you'll see the WR position improve. Gronk draws LBs and safeties and this helps out Amendola/Edelman. This trickles down so that Thompson/Dobson/Boyce get weaker CB talent and can be explosive.

Oh, and more practice and time will lead to better knowledge of the playbook.

Re: Winning with this current receiver core is not sustainable

It's week 1, give them time to get settled in to NFL Football!

Gronk is yet to come back too which will make everyone better.

I'm not to worried yet. They will get better each week!

Re: Winning with this current receiver core is not sustainable

So do you want us hold 7 receivers on the 53 man roster or do you want us to cut one of the young guys after only 1 game?

Re: Winning with this current receiver core is not sustainable

You're right. lets give up on all these new receivers without giving them time to develop chemistry with brady.

Re: Winning with this current receiver core is not sustainable

Another way to look at it, if we want to see the glass half full, is if we can win a game when Julian Edleman is in double coverage, it can only go up from here.

Right?

Please calm down and readdress at the bye week if it is still a problem.

Re: Winning with this current receiver core is not sustainable

I think the expectation with having a bunch of young, inexperienced players is that they will improve week by week.

If they don't, though, then yeah: this receiving corps is not going to cut it.

Re: Winning with this current receiver core is not sustainable

Need Gronk back. And the rooks need to get it together by American thanksgiving.

Either way it will be ugly on O for a bit. Really need the D to ball out this year.

Re: Winning with this current receiver core is not sustainable

These guys are gonna need time. You can't give up on them after one game. With that, I hope the Tompkins and Sudfeld hype dies off. They looked horrible today, especially Tompkins. He was Reche Caldwell with a mix of Ocho Cinco like bad.

So what are you saying, Pete, the glass is half empty?

Re: Winning with this current receiver core is not sustainable

Circa 2003 winning style got the fantasy football generation running scared.

Re: Winning with this current receiver core is not sustainable

The rookies played like rookies in week 1. There's a huge surprise. I was more disappointed with the OL more than anything today.

Only on this board...

Woah, Thomkins was not Ocho bad. He had a rough game, but at least he could line up in the right spot. lol

Yup, the rooks where rooks. O line was suspect. But give credit to the Bills. They have a sick front 7.

Re: Winning with this current receiver core is not sustainable

Rather than the WR's, we should be discussing the TEs. Thompkins had four times as many catches as all the TEs together.

Listen I'm the biggest chicken little and I know that rooks need time to adjust.1 st week no game tape on opponent and bills always start fast, new wr core, give them time and we should be fine good learning experience. Ed's amondola and Vereen stepped up that good news
