Oh-Oh Peyton may not have broken the passing record after all

Please let this happen.

It won't last 3 years and is unimpressive anyway. Might as well be the record for most punting yards in a single season.

its not even Brady's record why do you care lol and bress will throw for 6000 yards next year to get his record back

It's the right thing to do. Facts are facts.

Exactly right.
Personally I don't care what records PM breaks. I just do not feel the anti PM fever others here do. Good for him for whatever record he breaks provided he loses when the Patriots come to town.

This is actually a pretty big deal......not because some record is/was broken, it's because of what it says about the NFL. The NFL must always act machine-like and unbiased when it comes to what happens during the 60 minutes of a game (which includes accurate statistic keeping of what went on during the game). And if they decide to manipulate the stat keeping to make their product more sell-able to the media?? That's a very slippery slope to travel down.

Side note, I do not agree the record will fall so easily unless it happens in the next couple of years. Most passing records are held by pure pocket passers. At this moment in time the existence of pure pocket passers is on the decline. If that ends up being the full time reality, these passing records could stand for decades.

Uh-oh.... spaghettios!

Stats are for losers. Yeh, "Joe Blow has the most Yards while whistling dixie." Can't put em in a trophy case. Lombardi s and rings!! Manning is annoying.

You done mess up, Elias.

Lol, NFL network just reported Elias stats bureau is upholding the record. There goes the integrity of the NFL if there ever really was one...

I believe this will actually damage Manning's reputation. Just do whatever is good for manning and not what's right and fair...

Not surprised at all. Everybody genuflect at the Altar of Manning.

Lol. There is no way that ball was a forward pass. But I say let him have the passing record. Every team knows Peyton is a favored son by the NFL. This is more evidence of that. And it's better motivation to beat the Broncos in the playoffs.

Can't say I'm surprised, but I can't say I care much, either. The yardage record has just become so devalued.

I remember Mercury Morris retroactively getting credit for 1,000 yards rushing. I think there was a lateral he caught for 9 or 10 yard loss that was later deemed a forward pass and he got those yards back. That give both him and Csonka 1,000 yard seasons.

Just giving Saints fans a taste of what Patriot fans have been putting up with for a very, very long time.
