Many think Welker will be cut due to his $8 million cap #. Obviously he would have to mend some fences with Belichick, Kraft, etc. but if he did would you have him back on a 1-2 year deal?

My answer is an astounding no; I don’t believe in going backwards…

That mini-horse has left the barn. At this stage I think his health is marginal. And I think he's 50-50 to be back with Denver.

I'd have nothing against it, except i think he's toast.

My answer to that question? F THAT!

Little judas can enjoy noodle arm as they ride out into the sunset together in humiliation and concussion.

Why would we? We just proved that slot WRs thrive in this system. NOBODY thought JE was capable of these numbers going in.

NE offense really features the slot and TE.

Personally unless Edelman signs for cheap, I think we plug Amendola into that spot and go for more size at WR via FA.

If the Pats can't sign anyone demonstrably better...yes.

I don't care if that little ***** morphs into Calvin Johnson I don't want that traitor back!!

Yes but, not for much money. Like 3 mill at most probably. So yeah, probably not.

No, Welker should retire. He has taken way too many brain shots and he is going to have a sh.tty life if he keeps taking them. The Patriots already have 2 guys to replace him and imo re-signing Edelman is their free agent priority. I love Welker as a player and I wanted them to keep him when he was a free agent, however those who saw the end of his career as much closer than i did were right and not only will belichick not even consider bringing him back but he shouldn't. They should double dip at TE, resign edelman, and draft a good WR to join the young group, then they can focus on defense in free agency. they have a lot of work to do to be good enough to win a Lombardi but Welker shouldn't even figure into that discussion.

In all honesty i don't really believe that was the real point of this thread but we will see?

Of course. You'd have to be a fool (or a coach who's been burning bridges) not to.

Only if he agreed to a split salary in the case he goes on IR. He's likely one concussion away from being put on IR at any given time.

Before the AFCC, I might've said Yes. But as of now, The Receiver is dead to me.

no f...ing way, look at his eyes on the field, he looks lost, he's already in brain damage.

I don't think he has much left. But that (WW return) ship has sailed. Then the ship was nuked in the middle of the ocean.

And the likelihood of that taking place is 100% imo. You simply cannot play where Welker plays and the way he plays without taking massive head shots from LB's and safeties crossing the middle of the field. Playing outside is a different story as they are taking some shots from safeties and corners but nothing like the kinds of hits the slot guys are taking going inside all game long week after week. I am as big a Welker fan as they get but the 2nd half of this season convinced me that his career should end now, before he does any more damage to his brain. Great player, great career, time to call it a career.

at this point though, its would you rather have Edelman or Welker? I would take edelman. younger, less hits taken and has proven he can produce well in the slot.

I think Welker is going to retire. But if he doesn't, I don't see him coming back. I think there is too much hate on both sides to make that happen.

Welker is going to be 33 in a few months, has concussion issues, and clearly is slowing down. I would take him back for a low contract, but he isn't a guy you build your offense around anymore. He is more of a complimentary player.

He looked like a Bobble-Head doll on the field. He had a good game but should retire before he turns in to a blithering idiot.

Why bring him back when those monies can be used to sign Edelperson?
