Pre-Draft Depth Chart

Friends,

lets not forget how often we played nickel and dime D last year.
just because we have a lot of Corners doesnt mean we have too many.
i fully expect Browner to play Corner with Revis, and Dennard and Arrington and Ryan filling out the situation and covering any injuries that pop up.

i dont think Browner was brought here to switch to center field (tho i could be proven wrong)

This is a preliminary look at how our depth chart would could look right now. I put Browner at safety but obviously, he could be at cornerback, which we will not find out until camp. We have some holes that need to address – interior offensive line, tight end, depth at defensive end, depth at running back, depth at linebacker, and if Wilfork released, we will have a hole in the defensive line that will need immediate attention. Overall the team is looking very good.

Offense
QB – Brady, Mallett
RB – Ridley, Bolden, Gray
3rd down RB – Vereen
FB – Develin
X-WR – Dobson, LaFell, Slater, Thompkins, Harrison, Orton
Y-WR – Edelman, Amendola, Boyce, Dunn
Y-TE – Gronkowski, Hoomanawanui
F-TE – Williams
LT – Solder, Devey, Mattes
LG – Mankins, Kline
OC – Cave
RG – Connolly, Barker
RT – Vollmer, Cannon

Defense
LDE – Ninkovich, Buchanan
DT – Kelly, Jones (94), Armstead, Vellano
NT – Wilfork, Siliga, Fortson
RDE – Jones (95), Bequette
SOLB – Hightower, White
MLB – Mayo, Beauharnais
WOLB – Collins, Davis (49)
LCB – Revis, Ryan, Green
RCB – Dennard, Arrington
FS – McCourty, Harmon, Wilson (27)
SS –Browner, Wilson (24), Ebner, Davis (36)

Special Teams
K – Gostkowski
P – Allen
LS – Aiken

I'd still like to see them add another pass rusher (Allen) and a RB, but that's a pretty good roster right there. Lots of talent on both sides of the ball.

I don't think Browner will end up at safety, however. It appears early on here that we'll see Revis and Browner at CB (once Browner returns from his suspension, of course), with Dennard and Ryan subbing in and/or covering the 3rd WR that so often is out there. And McCourty and Harmon look like they're going to be the safeties, IMO. I don't see Tavon Wilson or Adrian Wilson beating out either of them.

In the draft I'd like to see a stud TE and a young interior DL that can push the pocket. And maybe a hard-hitting safety as well.

He actually entered the NFL as a safety. He has the ability to play both positions at a high level. As I said in my OP you could list him either place.

He was so good at playing SS that he left to take his superior skills to the CFL.

and McCourty entered as a CB and Edelman as a QB but one wouldn't list either that way on the depth chart. We signed Browner as a CB....the only people who think he is a safety are the talking heads. He made is mark as a CB and he should play as a CB. The only reason anyone is talking as though he is a safety is that he can cover the larger TE (the players you would put a safety on).

And to my knowledge, he's never played safety at a HIGH LEVEL. He played it in the CFL but he made his mark as a CB in the NFL.

Fair enough.

I will join the club. I will stop responding to any of our posts. I will also "ignore" them.

Welcome to the club, its growing quickly. Hoping we can negotiate a group discount at Six Flags.

MG do I ever respond to you with a comment that is a passive aggressive or direct shot at you, I keep it to the facts of the situation I do not try to insult you or make you look stupid, I do not ever act like I am superior to you. I show you respect and keep it to the topic. That is all I am asking you to do, but instead you come back and imply that there is a club of posters who ignore me, which is odd because my posts probably are quoted more than any other poster on this board so apparently it is not that big of club. If you cannot reciprocate with the same level of respect that I show you than it is best that you join that club, because the current interactions we are having are not working for me at all. I would prefer that you put aside your personal jihad you have against me that motivates you to quote everything I say in disagreement and attempt to make me look bad or drop an insult or two in the process, but if you cannot do that then please do ignore more. I have attempted to PM you to figure out exactly what your issue is with me but you do not accept PMs so that is why we are having this conversation in a thread.

This post is exactly what I do not like about your posts, you make comments that are just blatantly rude and intended to belittle or insult, that is not necessary I have never done anything to you. It is very disappointing that a difference in an opinion on a player motivates such anger and hatefulness amongst some of the posters in here that is unnecessary. In a world filled with anti-bullying campaigns a group of adults in a football forum should all conduct ourselves better (I include myself as I have been guilty of crossing the boundaries in the past) than we do.

Mgteich has been on this board probably since the day it started.
In whatever that is, maybe 10 years, I have never seen anyone else offended by his attitude or posting style.
I have seen many people, myself included, disagree, even harshly back and forth with him, but this is the first enemy I have ever seen him make. Just saying.

And that includes Deus!

(I keed... kind of.)

I would not label MG my enemy, I had an issue with how he was speaking to me, and I felt as though he was making an intentional effort to troll my posts because of some unprovoked reason, so I asked him not to do that anymore repeatedly. His response was that he would join the club an implication that there is a club of anti-Brady6 posters.

I am not going to sit here and act like a victim because that would be bull, but at the end of the day I really do not understand the anger towards me on this board from some of you. I know that I am opinionated and outspoken and sometimes posters disagree with my position on a matter. That should not result in anger though, I hardly ever insult posters or take issue with them, and on the few occasions in which I have, I apologized either in the thread or in PM to the poster for my behavior. Most of the dislike for me stems from my dissatisfaction with Danny Amendola in 2013; to me taking personal issue with me because I have reservations about one player on our team with a roster that currently stands at about 65 players is extreme. We are all fans for the fun and love of the game and this team, or at least that is what I think, I cannot see how so often conversations, debates, and interactions result in these hate fueled verbal altercations. There is no reason for it, I am as entitled to my opinion as you are to your opinion, but if you look at my posts of the 7100 or so that I have how many of them are actually me questioning someone else’s opinion? Not many, the majority of my posts unfortunately have to do with me defending my opinion, or even worse defending myself.

Honestly, all I want is to get along with people on here, I do not want to have posters dislike me, and I do not want to dislike posters myself. I am not against altering my behavior but I would need the request and reason for it to be conveyed to me in a way that does not put me immediately on the defensive. I do not pretend to be a perfect member of this forum but I do appreciate the fact that I am a member of it and even though I get into it with posters from time to time I do hold 98% of the members of this board in high regards and recognize the knowledge and information shared on this site is truly special.

I think Belichick will do everything in his power to keep his best DBs on the field at all times, which in my opinion are without question these players –

- Revis
- McCourty
- Browner
- Dennard
- Ryan

I cannot see him putting a player like Dennard who has exceled at the NFL level in his first two NFL season on the bench to play a player like Harmon or Wilson who is a lesser player just because they have the position Safety next to their name.

Browner is here for one primary reason in my opinion and that is to do what Talib did against Jimmy Graham every week against the other team’s top tight end. That position is growing faster than any other on the offensive side of the ball is and if you look at the games against teams with top tight ends and a top wide out we struggled. The reason we struggled is against teams like the Falcons and Browns we had to keep Talib outside on Jones or Gordon so Gonzalez and Cameron had their way with us. Enter Revis and Browner, now you have Revis to cover the top wide receiver and Browner to cover the top tight end. What that means for the scheme I could not tell you, maybe Belichick moves to a one-safety front and goes 1on1 man with the Revis and Dennard on the receivers, Browner on the tight end, and then McCourty as the loan safety playing centerfield.

just remember that Talib is a cornerback.

Well you told me you were putting me on ignore, so I will assume you actually want my opinion.
You incessantly ramble on about the same thing (ie Amendola) and instead of listening to what other people say (frankly I think you are wrong a lot and could learn from having an open mind) you double down by arrogantly arguing more fervently about the same bad idea.
You post WAY too much. And you seem to take everything personal. No one wants to know about your feelings, or what you do for a living or how smart you think you are.
Hey, you can do whatever you want, but you asked, so my honest opinion is that these things cause you to annoy and alienate many posters.
Hope that helped, it was meant in that spirit.

Thank you for the constructive feedback. I will keep these things in mind going forward and attempt to be an easier person to talk too, thanks again!

He was so good at playing SS that he left to take his superior skills to the CFL.

Wrong. He left because he could puff up and still play without repercussions. As soon as that window closed, well...

Important Provisions

• An education program for all players will begin in 2010, with testing starting in January 2011.

Personally I could care less if that's his vice. Alcohol abuse causes more problems IMO.

He was cut in July and and not on any team until September. He didn't leave the NFL voluntarily so spouting that he went to the CFL just to smoke is stupid.
