Miguel speaks of $5M savings.

I think hes making it up as he goes along. I think he means 'unwashed masses' which still wouldn't make any sense.

Make it up? I didn't mean 'unwashed masses'. Don't put words in my mouth, I'm more than able to speak for myself and better than most in this fractious group.

Miguel is probably right, but he is guessing at this point. It is an educated guess with the information he has, but even he admits he won't know for sure until we see the deal.

Sure, but I have not seen this much detail elsewhere.

What I object too is the notion promoted by some here (before this deal) that we should view him through some filmy romantic gauze .

Well, I for one admit to suffering from the "filmy romantic gauze" malady, but when i take off my rose colored glasses it goes away.

Maybe i should rethink my future career writing romantic football novels?

Typical.

Kyle Love was released after he got his diabetes diagnosis. All around health, and propensity for suffering from illnesses that run in the family have to be a concern of the Pats - they demonstrated it.

Rumors are strong that they washed their hands of Brandon Lloyd due to his being bipolar.

None of this, and let me repeat.........

NONE OF THIS has a damned thing to do with Vince Wilfork. The reason your posts don't make sense is because you're losing your mind on something that's completely irrelevant to the Wilfork situation being discussed. Vince Wilfork is not his mother. Vince Wilfork is not his father . Vince Wilfork is not his brother. Vince Wilfork is not Brandon Lloyd. From all that's been reported, Vince's issue was that of an older player with a high salary coming off of a serious injury, not that of a player being diagnosed as bipolar or dead of diabetes-related issues.

I'm sorry that you couldn't accept that, and got your panties all wadded up in a bunch, but it is what it is.

Please child.

The question was do the Pats look at issues off the field. They do. Those are called examples. Look it up.

You were talking nonsense. You continue to talk nonsense. Unless you've got a medical report that Wilfork is in significant health decline due to diabetes, or has suddenly become bipolar, you're just talking out of your ass.

Someone give BB a MBA degree with honors please.

From a cap casualty team to a B+ free agency and still 9mi under the cap team.

Miguel -- so this means $3 million will get rolled over into 2015 as NLTBE, right?

And it leaves $11.6 million to be paid in 2015 and 2016, if I'm reading it correctly.

So that would mean total cap hit in 2015 and 2016 combined of 16.6 million, with a $2 million dead money hit if cut in 2015 and a $1 million dead money hit in 2016 if cut.

I assume it will be structured so that salary/incentives for 2014 is like $4 million (to accomodate the extra cap hit from the rolled in $3 million) and then like $7 million in 2015. Sound about right?

No. It just means that I expect his playing time incentives to be NLTBE in 2014. Before the 2015 League Year the NFL and the NFLPA will review his playing time and decide if the incentives will be considered LTBE or NLTBE in 2015.

Example,

I am JUST providing an example. Have no idea of the real numbers

20 percent -- $500,000
30 percent -- $750,000
40 percent -- $1,000,000
50 percent -- $1,500,000
60 percent -- $2,000,000
70 percent -- $2,500,000
80 percent -- $3,000,000

Vincent then plays in 75% of the defensive snaps in 2014. The reached NLTBE incentive would then be included in the year-end adjustment calculation that determines each team's adjusted cap number. Not only that if the playing-time incentive carries over each year, his 2015 cap number would go by $2.5million since the 70% playing time threshold would then be considere Likely to be Earned.

The NLTBE incentives that get expensed in 2015 depend on how much cash he gets ie how much incentives he earns in 2014 vs how much hits the cap in 2014. If he earns the whole 4.4M in incentives (3M incentives and 1.4M for 46 man roster incentives) and they only are taking a cap hit for .35M of that (which is what is projected on that sheet), then that 4.05M would get put into next year.

In addition it looks like the SB was 1.5M so that's 1M spread out over 2015 and 2016.

So if cut after this year, it'd be 1M (SB) and whatever NLTBE stuff he earned and was not expensed in 2014.

That's my take.

Not sure about the salaries in 2015 and 2016.

I'm no cap expert, but that weight bonus is so NLTBE. :pigsfly:

I wonder what the actual number for the weight bonus is.365 +or- 5?

Spiral beat me to it
