starts tonight with an expo against the Habs. I am again looking forward to the season and interested in what this team will look like.

The Ruins will regress unless Krug & Smith are re-signed, and they somehow find right-handed scoring
from the wing; really they need 2 of them.

I think one big key to the season will be managing Chara's minutes ...

He was tanked at the end of last season ... he has to get reduced minutes and against easier opponents an occasional game undressed watching from the box might be a good idea. I'm also going to predict a huge season from the one-eyed Swede. ;)

a healthy Dennis Seidenberg and Adam McQuaid should really help. a lot of people under estimate how much they were missed last year. i hope they dump bartkowski some how to free up some change for krug. i would rather see smith gone if it means they keep what they already have.

Yes to dumping Fartkowski ASAP. But they also need all the scoring they can get, so Reilly Smith
has to be signed. Hard to believe that the Chiapet has painted himself into such a corner that he
can't afford someone as relatively inexpensive as Smith.

they cant sign smith unless they dump more then barkowski. I like smith but I want to keep McQuaid and boychuck a lot more.

They desperately need scoring. They absolutely should not keep all of their Dmen at the expense of
losing Reilly Smith. It's not as if they have any Forward prospects worth a crap in juniors or minors.

I would keep the dmen over smith anyday. its not like smith is some kind of great offensive player. if Seidenberg and McQuaid were healthy last year they beat the canadiens.

If the Chiapet allows Smith to walk, then the Tyler Seguin trade will look much worse than it already does.

that may be true but you cant keep somebody on the team because a trade you made doesnt look so good. they had to make hard choices. they decided to keep there core group together knowing it would hurt roster flexability. they could have let krejci bergeron and rask go. they all signed long term deals.

That contract given to Krejci was ******ed.

Krejci, Bergeron, Lucic, Marchand all should've been signed to contracts for at least $1M less/season
than they were. Plenty of cash then for Krug & Smith.

they were paid less than what they would have recieved on the open market.

real season starts tonight..GO BS
