I said Dobson would have a big jump this year, don't think I could be more wrong.

I said DeGuglielmo should be nowhere near our OL. He really turned it around.

I thought Chung and Tavon Wilso would be either released or "ir'd" due to not doing enough. Wilson really stepped up at the end of the season in some kind of hybrid role.

I said they'd win 13 regular season games. I was wrong.

Amendola would increase his production numbers from last year

Dennard would start the first 4 games, and then be used situationally with Browner

Cannon would be capable at guard (although I was talking about right guard, not left, it's close enough)

I said Marcus Cannon was better printer than OG, i was right

1. Dobson would make the second year leap.

2. LaFell wouldn't contribute much to the offense. James Jones would have been a better pick-up.

3. Amendola would see a substantial production increase from last year to this year.

More when I think of it.

I try not to make predictions. I think the only one I made was that the Pats wouldn't lose another game for the rest of the year after the Denver game. I thought they'd finish 14-2 but I knew they'd be the #1 seed regardless as I had Denver losing at least one more.

Lets see...

1. I thought Mallett would beat out Garropollo, not believing my eyes in preseason game after preseason game.
2. I thought Dante couldn't be replaced by DeGuglielmo, but he put out the dumpster fire at OL and even handled the Mankins trade effectively.
3. I thought James White would get some PT.
4. When Wright came I thought we'd see a lot more 221.
5. Did not see Chung as the second safety.
6. Thought Patricia sucked hard core. Also thought the D additions were cosmetic only, because Revis was Asomugha redux and Browner was Big Bang Clock redux. And, thought the D was going to eat it hard when Mayo went down.

This is why I'm not in the FO yet.

I thought Connally would be renegotiated or cut. I thought that Gronk would be less effective b/c of his knee. I didn't think Wilfork would play nearly as well as he has. I thought that there was a hole in the secondary at safety. I thought that McCourty would get paid. I thought that they'd take a step back to 11-5 or 10-6 and be hard-pressed to stay in front of Miami and/or Buffalo. Glad to have been wrong on all of these.

I thought Wendell would be cut in TC/preseason, Dobson would be a significant player in this year's offense, Cannon was the RG of the future, and Hightower was miscast as a MLB, so... yeah.

I didn't have too many outlandish thoughts that were wrong this year. Only 3 really. Wasn't a big James White fan but thought he would get a significant amount of carries and I thought Chung would be a scrub/hurt. I didn't know Amendola would regress as a wr like this.

More Mea Culpas:

  • I thought Dobson would be a 1,000 yard receiver
  • I thought Easley would have 5 sacks
  • I thought Amendola and Edelman would have swapped roles in the offense and Amendola would be the go to guy although I didn't think either would be more than a 800 yard receiver
BTW, I made a lot of preseason predictions (many I nailed). So even though I got a lot wrong, it isn't as bad as it looks since we are only calling out what we got wrong.

That makes you the Captain Carl Yastrzemski of Wrong Predictions. You had so many at bats that your total is high.

I was right about the AFC South again being the worst division in the NFL, but didn't expect the AFC North to be as good as it was.

IMHO, the AFCN really isn't that good at all. Their records are skewed because they were matched up with themselves, the AFCS and the true worst division in the NFL, the NFCS. I call that a dream schedule and is the reason that 3 teams made the playoffs.

I thought Dobson was going to be our #1 receiver and be the receiver we have been dreaming of. Maybe next year.

I thought Thompkins would make the roster and be pretty good. He left me with good memories with that catch in the Saints game.

I thought Amendola would recover from the injury from last year and be way better than Wes Welker. Though, he has contributed greatly in some areas late in the season.

I thought the Pats would make it to the Super Bowl and Brady gets his 4th ring. <----this one is still ongoing.

I picked the Saints to win the NFC.

My AFC picks, in order, were, HOWEVER:

1)NE
2)DEN
3) IND
4) CIN
5) PITT
6) SD

so I only shuffled 3-5 and missed BAL for SD

I said Dobson would have a very good year and Chung wouldn't even make the team

hightower better than i thought.......browner slightly better

1. Thought Brandon LaFell wasn't going to make a real impact on offense. Very happy to be dead wrong.

2. Had doubts that the Pats would beat the Bengals. I still saw a record resembling 10-6/12-4 but I thought we were gonna struggle against that front 7. From the minute Ridley scored the opening TD, I thought this game would finally ignite our season.

HM: Believed this was Dobson's break out year.

That makes you the Captain Carl Yastrzemski of Wrong Predictions. You had so many at bats that your total is high.

Actually, I would argue the other way. I think with making so many predictions, I have an unusually high number wrong. The more predictions you make the more guessing you make which means you get a higher percentage wrong. If I just stuck with the predictions that I felt really good about, my batting average would be exponentially higher.

I thought Dobson would be very good and make LaFell superfluous

Wow, nice troll post. You do understand what yesterday's game was all about?

Maybe we should then replace that bum Brady, huh? 8 for 16 won't do it in the big leagues, eh?

BTW, sorry your guy Rex got canned.

Sign Revis is priority # 1.
