A lot of pressure will be on this man next Saturday. If Solder has one of his bad games, it could completely ruin the whole game for us offensively.

Your 6 foot 8, Nate. No getting pushed over on your back d%#*!@t.

What worries me most is that he's coming off an injury

Otherwise, a fully healthy Nate Solder isn't as bad as Kelvin Beachum (Steelers LT)

Depends on the day. Well if anything it's a good thing he got a week of rest.

Suggs is probably chomping at the bit on going against Solder.

It's unclear to me Solders bad performances were due to physical issues or mental ones.

It's due to him not being that good of a LT. That said, he's the best option we have. Have Gronk/Wright/Hooman chip Suggs at the LOS to give Solder some help and hope he's healthy.

Nate's got his work cut out for him, and Suggs has an obsession with Brady that borders on demented. He'd better eat his Wheaties this week. Maybe even some Gronk flakes, just to be sure.

If Solder shows up Saturday and punches Suggs in the mouth for 60 minutes, pay that man his money.

In Solder we must trust. Like Dennis Quaid said in Major League 2, "he's lying in the weeds"... just ready to break out.

Fixed that for you.

The guy is so hot and cold. He has got to man up and get back to mid season form. We know he can do it, but will he? With a good O line, this team can rule the world. The Ratbirds are salivating over TB like a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. They will make up for the mediocre secondary by getting to the QB. Give TB time and he'll carve them up like that turkey. The Oline should be getting healthier at the right time. That really is the key IMO. Watch the PI's on the Flunco bombs, protect Tom and everthing else should fall into place

In 2011 and 2012 and roughly over 2,000 snaps, Solder allowed 8 sacks total.

Last year he allowed 12 in 1100 or so snaps.

Its not like his performance this year is a surprise. He's erratic.

Pats need to think long and hard about Soler being the answer long term here.

Have Gronk/Wright/Hooman chip Suggs at the LOS to give Solder some help and hope he's healthy.

My concern about leaving Gronk in to chip is that can potentially disrupt the timing of the offense and limit his ability to make plays downfield. I'd rather have Develin, Blount, Maneri or another OT help w/ Suggs.

I think Vollmer can handle Elvis 1:1

Solder was a solid left tackle so it's not like he can't play the position. Either it's no Mankins next to him, a nagging injury, or no Dante to help him fix something he is doing wrong.

All three are fixable. Having Connolly healthy is one. The extra time off to heal will help. If it's coaching, let's hope Bill notices and helps fix it. Having the RB chip as he goes short may help also.

BRADY against Flacco should be a no brainer but the D definitely needs to pressure Joe or he will either fling it long for a PI call ( 50/50) or run with it.

Beachum is small for a LT. Solder has 5 inches and 20 pounds on him. Suggs will have a harder time bull rushing that.

Solder has two weaknesses as an LT. Since college, he has been susceptible to the quick outside rush, though Dante and Dave have helped him improve that considerably. He also rides high on occasion which makes it easier for the DE/LB to execute a chop or under move. That's how he got a sack in the game last year, IIRC.

Cameron Fleming will probably be in there to help out.

Key is to see the blitz coming. BenR did not in yesterday's game. TomB needs to adjust the plays on the fly.
Quick bubble-screens should offset some of the blitzes..

IMO

True and for the life of me, I didn't understand when the Steelers had Heather Miller try to take Suggs on 1:1. I wouldn't trust Gronk to get the best of that matchup either, but Gronk would be much better suited to slowing him down than Miller.

Chip him, frustrate him, make him do stupid things.

I spend many a Sunday afternoon yelling at Solder through the tv. VERY INCONSISTENT.
He is the epitome of the game against the Ravens.... if our OL handles their DL WE WIN... if it doesn't could be a long evening. Solder DO YOUR JOB!!! IMO a healthy Connolly next to him sat helps a great deal...
I live down here deep in Ravens territory and the Steeler game wasn't even final and my phone blowing up with Ravens comments. Told my family going to be a LONG week. I am still bitter over the victory lap 5-6 years back, that Harbaugh and team took in our house. I don't want a refs call, a dropped pass, a missed chip shot fg. I WANT REDEMPTION
