They need to have that hunger again. Can't get content. As soon as ota's start you gotta forget this season and work on the next one.

I'm calling it now Super Bowl 50 Patriots Vs Packers, maybe Patriots vs 49ers
Scratch off the 49ers with the Superbowl being in San Francisco next year! They'll have to beat all odds just make it there! I like a New England vs GB or Dallas SB next year!

Imagine the hate and vitriol spewed in the Pat's direction if they're in next year.:D:)

In order:

OL - Every game with Kline out there is a tremendous risk (He did well against Ravens and Colts though).

DL - I will be fine if Ayers and Branch are resigned (Ayers' situation is harder). We can only hope Easly improves, but I still see a necessity for another player there, specially considering Wilfork's age.

RB - Only Blount, Gray and the rookie that was taken from Carolina are under contract. Although we were able to win it all without running plays all that much, I don't think we would have won without Vareen.

LB depth - Mayo is a puzzling piece of Patriots offseason. Should we keep him and his big salary, even though our team didn't miss him? Still, I am not confident with any player that is behind Collins and Hightower in the roster.

Safety - We only need to resign McCourty to be fine. Still, if that doesn't happen, i would be very afraid of having only Chung, T. Wilson and Harmon.

WR - Amendola got his s*** together and was trully clutch in the play offs. He is expensive though. Even if we were to retain him, I feel like there's room for improvement at this position (Edelman is the only one who would be borderline impossible to improve). If Dobson can get rid of whatever thing that has possessed him this season, I would already be very satisfied.

I think a lot of weight has come off Brady and Belichick with number 4.

I agree -- I feel like since 2007 Brady has at times looked visibly stressed in tight games cause the pressure to win it all was so much; especially in last couple of years.

The KC blowout changed something in Brady -- he started running a lot more after that game than he has in the past 4 years -- like after that game he just said "f it, i'm going to have fun"
I think pressure to win again is off Brady, and that will only help them win again in the next year or two.

I'm expecting them to be back in the SB next year, but if they don't make the playoffs I still won't be disappointed cause #4 is a great cap on an era

I know I might be getting ahead of myself but I just can't help to think that we might actually pull it off, assuming that Revis & McCourty comes back...but with Mayo & Easley coming back next season, along with our fierce defense, we could really be unstoppable!! With the draft to continue to add on as well!! Which brings me to my next point...I think we need and can afford to make a big splash in this upcoming draft...I'm talking, a lights out/big play receiver

A mauling LG, Pot-Roast in FA and Todd Gurley to partner(replace) Blount and everything else would be gravy.

My thoughts in bold, including a reminder that J. R. Redmond was crucial to the Pats' first Super Bowl victory.

In order:

OL - Every game with Kline out there is a tremendous risk (He did well against Ravens and Colts though). Upgrade to the interior OL is absolutely needed. Hopefully we get lucky and an immediate starter falls in via the draft, Stork keeps developing, and Connolly can be affordably kept.

DL - I will be fine if Ayers and Branch are resigned (Ayers' situation is harder). We can only hope Easly improves, but I still see a necessity for another player there, specially considering Wilfork's age. I'm fine standing pat at DT if Branch re-signs. I agree that Ayers is less likely to be affordable, and that we're dangerously short on edge rushers without him. That's how he came to be on the team in the first place.

RB - Only Blount, Gray and the rookie that was taken from Carolina are under contract. And Bolden. Although we were able to win it all without running plays all that much, I don't think we would have won without Vereen. The Redmond/Faulk/Woodhead/Vereen position is pretty crucial on the Pats.

LB depth - Mayo is a puzzling piece of Patriots offseason. Should we keep him and his big salary, even though our team didn't miss him? Still, I am not confident with any player that is behind Collins and Hightower in the roster. Mayo is quite valuable, although I recall that some years he used to come off the field in sub.

Safety - We only need to resign McCourty to be fine. Still, if that doesn't happen, i would be very afraid of having only Chung, T. Wilson and Harmon. McCourty to Harmon would be a major downgrade.

I think Amendola can make more money elsewhere, more's the pity.

Personally I'd like to see specific emphasis put on the personnel and playbook to provide a consistent running game that is a threat to anyone's defense, not just the sometimes good sometimes completely lacking running game we have now. We need to get away from the pass heavy offense now that Brady is in the twilight of his playing career and get ready to transition. I don't know if there is a Corey Dillon type deal out there for us, but that type of offense that we had with him is what I'm thinking of. Brady would be exceptionally effective if the main threat was the running game (thinking of Elway with T. Davis).

That and keep Revis, Browner, McCourty and actually go out and get another lockdown corner to play slot since our 4th DB (Arrington) almost cost us the SB.

Arrington is an enigma. He's an excellent slot CB and terrible on the outside. So this former league leader in INTs isn't even a full #3 CB.

Why would we need another corner? If you have Revis and Browner and Butler and Dennard you dont waste resources going out and getting some "lockdown corner" especially when you still have Ryan cheap and this other very solid corner named Arrington.

We have plenty of other positions of need.

If Dobson and Easley play to their potential in 2015, why not? Adding two dynamic, potentially explosive playmakers on both sides of the ball is a mouth watering proposition... and for no new costs!

I don't want to get ahead of myself as these past 10 years have been a long road travelled but the Patriots are in decent salary cap shape, have a plethora of draft picks and an incredibly young and talented roster. When you combine that with an apparently much improved McDaniels and Patricia beginning to come into his own, there is reason for great optimism.

Selfishly, I'd like to see Brady retire with 6+ rings for the Patriots. He's a phenomenal Quarterback who deserves to own unbreakable records.

Arrington has played well in the past, but was exposed on the biggest stage when it counted most. If we have the players to lock down the back side of the Defense, we will get coverage sacks and can concentrate on stopping the run.

No, not a #3 IMHO. I would keep him for specific slot duties when we play teams that have Welker type receivers, but no way on big physical types.

1) Gotta keep Gronk healthy
2) They need to get better at run blocking againt stout DL's but I don't see them addressing this with any new players. They'll try to fix the issues with the guys they drafted last year.
3) Keep Vereen. While he isn't great it will take forever to get another back to learn this system. and obv Revis/Mccourty/Gost
4) Draft a Gronk knock off
5) Dobson should be able to contribute next year so that will give them some nice WR depth.

Super Bowl 50 is like 25 miles from Brady's hometown of SanMateo. Gotta think he'll be fired up, and the team will respond.

We need a pass rush i love him to death im a tired Hard Miami fan to but my boy Vince has to go

Does Anyone Else Have this Feeling : San Fran Early Feb 2016

I just have this great feeling that this team is just going to get better next year. The pressure is off and they haven't even gone "all in" yet.

I really feel like they are going to San fran next February...

1) Gotta keep Gronk healthy

Patriots fans have said over and over that a healthy Gronk would've been the key to so many different playoff fates. It was great having him in full gear once the season really rounded the first bend. I think about healthy Gronk and am a bit conflicted - were we just really lucky to finally have things fall into place with him for all 3 playoff games, or were we really unlucky all those other years with his ankle, arm, back and knee?

A couple other random thoughts on thematic type questions that will be at least partially determinative of the Patriot's chances of a repeat.

1) How well will the team recover from the Superbowl hangover? Will they be able to maintain the fire consistently enough? Signs have all pointed to yes, but you can never be sure if suddenly the team will stop taking the coaching (like the 2009 Patriots). Actually, looking at that team, which went 10-6 and got crushed at home by the Ravens. That team lost Josh McDaniels to Denver, saw Mike Vrabel and Richard Seymour traded, Larry Izzo sign elsewhere and Rodney and Tedy retire. That's a lot of locker room leadership to lose. Hopefully this year's team doesn't experience anything similar.

2) This year's team had a galvanizing moment which helped maintain their edge and demonstrate to each other the mental toughness and desire to compete even when things went sideways. Will next year's team feel the same need to prove themselves, will their new Superbowl Rings change their outlook with respect to doing the little things?

3) Vince was pretty incredible. The guy played probably 70+% of the defensive snaps the year after he tore his Achilles'. If he goes down again, or isn't the rock of a player we've depended on, the defensive line will likely need a major scheme adjustment. Just look at those articles from a few years ago describing the flexibility Vince's gap control versatility gives to the line. Obviously, tackles like VW don't grown on trees - so it's hard to flat out assume VW's role can easily be replaced or subdivided without an adjustment period, if not a drop off.

Also, Ninko has played basically every snap for 2(?) years in a row. The outlook of the DL will change drastically if a few injuries occur on players who are 30+ (but nonetheless have been very durable, generally).

4) It will be very interesting to see the landscape of the AFC unfold. As Deus Irae mentioned, Denver is either still a front tier franchise, or slow in recognizing their need to rebuild. The Ravens, pretty much by definition, will always be a playoff threat to NE. The Steelers offense will be impressive as long as Bell, Brown and (in my view) Bryant are out there and Roethlisberger is playing competently - who knows what will change with the departure of Lebeau from their defense. Will the Colts threaten, as the media assumes will happen, given the brightness of Andrew Luck's future? Will some other team surprise the AFC by taking a step forward?

Pats-Seahawks re-match in SB 50, final score 28-24 Pats repeat, literally.
