Cris Carter goes after Jerry Rice

Cris carter better hope nobody drags any sort of skeleton out of his closet with the way hes acting.
He has a whole haunted house in there.

I must have missed a memo somewhere. Who the hell made this "lord of NO rings" (Chris Carter) the morality police of the NFL as of late? Someone ought to explain to him about "casting stones" when you yourself live in a glass house.

Moss was certainly more physically gifted and explosive than Rice

Okay, sure, whatever. But that doesn't mean Moss was better except on the track.

Also, any chance you could trim down that signature? Your posts take up an entire screen and it's massively obnoxious.

Moss was more explosive on the field and more gifted physically on the field. What does the track have to do with anything? Do you deny this?

What is obnoxious, is your inability to see reality in Moss's physical talent. Forget legacys and longevity. Here are some facts

1. Moss had inferior QBs throwing to him
2. Moss had less talent around him for a lot of his career.
3. Moss diddnt have to cheat.

Actually even more obnoxious is your pimping of the 2014 pats team as they were some elite assassination squad, juggernaut, and the 2007 was not in their league.

How about the Broncos and their silicone...

These guys had better start realizing that they just need to keep their mouths shut but they're so dumb, they're going to get caught up in their own little hypocritical nonsense.

You know, in a way it is good, because it is looking like more and more "dirty laundry" with the rest of the NFL is starting to come to light and getting revealed. I guess if we can take a "silver lining" in all we have had to deal with since Camera-Gate, and this last conjured up "scandal" (Deflate Gate), is now the other teams whose fans were quick to judge the Pats, now have to look in the mirrors of their own teams and answer for transgressions 100X worse than anything the Pats have been hammered for.

Prior to Carter's senior season, he secretly signed with notorious sports agent Norby Walters. When the contract was discovered, Carter was ruled ineligible. The absence of Carter in the 1987 offense contributed to a disappointing 6–4–1 season and the firing of Coach Bruce.

Carter had a falling out with coach Buddy Ryan and was a surprise cut following the pre-season. Carter later admitted that Ryan released him because of alcohol and drug abuse, including large amounts of ecstasy, cocaine and marijuana

Carter was one of fifteen finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2008, but was not elected in a surprise to some commentators. Carter was once again excluded in 2009 and again in 2010 as receivers Jerry Rice and Tim Brown became eligible for the first time, though Brown did not make it

Cris's son, Duron Carter was declared academically ineligible for Ohio State’s appearance in the Rose Bowl game following the 2009 regular season, an issue that also kept him out of spring practice in 2010. He left the Buckeyes in June of that year and enrolled at a junior college in Kansas.

After transferring to Alabama in April 2011 from the JUCO ranks, eligibility issues again involving academics kept him from practicing with the Tide until late August. It was announced in late September 2011 that Carter would not play that season and would instead take a redshirt. He was suspended for spring practice that year, which prompted him to take his leave of Tuscaloosa and officially transfer to FAU.

also, turns out carter is an ordained minister, which I didn't know --- no wonder he's our moral compass

Physical talent is well and great, and I'm not denying Moss's greatness (though I think Rice made Montana and Young more than anyone gives him credit for, and Moss played with two HOF QBs and Culpepper was no slouch pre-injury). But Rice was a better football player, full stop. That doesn't mean Moss can't be number two - in fact, I believe I said in this very thread that he is the second greatest wide receiver to ever play. But he was not Jerry Rice, regardless of relative "explosiveness" and "physical talent." If physical talent was everything, Wes Welker would be a nobody and Chad Jackson would have been an all-time great.

Also it seems you have mistaken me for someone else. I said literally exactly the opposite regarding the 2014 and 2007 squads, and I'm all for disregarding "Super Bowls" as any sort of determinant in discussing a player's greatness.

Even assuming Gronk counts and that he's equal to Moss (very debatable, though that's a credit to Gronk)...

1) Gronk = Moss
2) Edelman < Welker
3) Vereen < Faulk
4) Amendola < Gaffney
5) Wright < Watson
6) Dobson/Tyms < Stallworth
7) Hoomanwanui < Brady

The 2014 corps was pretty much inferior in every imaginable way. Which, again, isn't really a big deal. 2007 was among the greatest receiving corps ever assembled (its top rivals probably being Rice/Craig/Taylor or whoever just because Rice was so incredible, and Harrison/Wayne/Clark).

If you're basing it on whether a team wins a Super Bowl, well, they win in 2007 if Asante Samuel holds onto the football and lose in 2014 if Malcolm Butler drops the football. Neither of which had anything to do with the offense.

And please, for the love of God, change your signature.

I think the secret radios in the helmets is a lot worse than that ---- even bradshaw's steelers sprayed themselves with that stuff.

I will agree because longevity counts IMO. I always had rice as #1 because he had an unbreakable record kinda like Cy Young. So I dont have a lot of dog in this fight.

Dont know why I confused you in that other abortion toipc. I think its a big circus at this point.

I will compact my sig. Its a little much.

I love Randy Moss, he's probably my favorite football player of all time. And it's not like Moss had no one throwing to him - aside from Moon and Cunningham, Daunte Culpepper was a rising star who was in the discussing as one of the best in the league until he tore every ligament in his knee and had recovery totally mismanaged.

But Moss was no Jerry Rice. The only people who would think Moss was better than Rice had to have been born after 1990, and only got to see aging (if still somehow really good) Rice. Rice is the greatest football player who ever played.

Once again, this is a thoroughly dishonest argument.

How so? Sure, he did not play with Joe Montana and Steve Young, but he did play with Tom Brady (it was only one HOF QB, I had the Vikings QB timeline screwed up and was replacing Randall Cunningham with Warren Moon in my head). But Culpepper, the QB for a large portion of his career, was great even when Moss was hurt.

Your notion of "great" likely differs significantly from the rest of humanity in this instance.

When all is said and done, it comes down to this..........

Rice has the stats, records, and rings (and playing well in those big games).

Randy Moss may not have a ring or the career stats of Rice, but he certainly wins in the 'eye test'. Moss's athleticism was out of this world, and hsi acrobatic catches were just pure amazement.

Rice, to his credit, had to work hard for his stats. Moss, while he did work hard, it's clear that he could accomplish a lot with natural ability alone. Thtat's not knocking either guy.

isn't this thread supposed to be what a douchebag carter is?

Moss had Brady for one healthy season.

More importantly, when was Culpepper "great when Moss was hurt?" Moss missed a grand total of three games in Minny. Look at Culpepper's numbers for the majority of his time with Moss. He had two great seasons, one decent one, and three awful ones (which describes his entire post-Moss career). Your recollection of Culpepper's play is really flawed.

Moss was injured for most of the 2004 season, regardless of how much he dressed. He only caught 49 balls, yet this was Culpepper's best season as a pro. He was arguably the best quarterback in the league that season, and it was Moss's worst season.

To put Culpepper's post-Minnesota career floundering on losing Moss is totally unfair. He tore every ligament in his knee and the recovery was totally botched.

Exactly.

Focus people focus.

Isn't Chris Carter the douchebag who paid teammates to injure opposing players because he was too chickens.t to do it himself?

What kind of little b.tch does that?

He should be in the Coward Hall of Fame.

I wonder what Fifi Rice thinks of that?
Maybe I should tweet him and find out?

Good bless social media, I can no longer imagine life without the ability to provoke catfights between public figures.
