I waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant this to be true.

Only if he reoworks contract

So, you don't think that is worth it for an all-pro guard who just recently went to the pro-bowl a couple of months ago?

My first impression was that it is a Jets fan (De Niro?) upset that Mathis got traded to their hated rival, the Pats!

But then I realized that may be an Iggles jersey.

It's an Eagles jersey, from that dumb movie with Bradley Cooper and the chick from Hunger Games.

I thought SLP was pretty good though I agree Hunger Games girl is over exposed and overrated as an actress.

Edit: back on topic and making a guess.

Mathis for our 4th we get back a 6th from Philly. Keep in mind JUST A GUESS.

I just found the movie irritating, with annoying characters I couldn't fully root for. I felt kind of frazzled after watching it, like I had just been babysitting my two young nephews.

Why? He is already under paid for the caliber of guard he is. Connolly cost you 4M last year. This guy cost you 50% more and is 3 times the player Connolly is.
Actually I read where he's only due $5MM for this year. So if you trade for him THAT's your cost. The question is, is he worth one million more that Connolly. If reputation means anything you would think so. PFF had him as the best OG in the league in 2013, and supposedly he was just as good last season....when he was healthy.

He could end up being a Brian Waters kind of pick up. One of those old guys who just keep playing well into their mid 30's. Now the question is can they afford a $5MM cap hit this year.

The Eagles probably want the Patriot's #1 Draft Pick for an all-pro.

LOL not even close as this is only a 1-2 rental max. It be a pick swap probably and at worst we trade them our own 4th though I doubt that.

We're not getting anything for Christmas this year. Stop torturing yourselves.

We're getting value players who attended Rutgers

His salary is 5.5 i think this year

The madness won't stop.

The Eagles are working to trade All-Pro left guard Evan Mathis, a source confirmed.

The news was first reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Mathis, 33, is in the midst of a five-year, $25.5 million contract with the Eagles. He is due to make $5.5 million in base salary in 2015 with a cap hit of $6.5 million. If the Eagles trade him, they would still be on the hook for $2 million.

A darling of the advanced football stats community, Mathis has made the Pro Bowl in consecutive seasons, even despite missing seven games in 2014 with an MCL sprain. He was a first-team All-Pro lineman in 2013.

If you recall, the Eagles permitted Mathis to shop himself last offseason as he sought more money.

This afternoon's development are likely related to the Saints' trade of two-time Pro Bowl guard Ben Grubbs to Kansas City. New Orleans netted a fifth-round pick in the deal. Mathis, who is two years older but has lower base salaries than Grubbs, could have a similar market.

The Patriots have interest in trading for Mathis, according to the Boston Herald.

@eaglescentral: It's not if Evan Mathis is traded. It's when. #Eagles
