Reiss thinking Reggie Bush will be a Patriot

We rally need to stop underselling the loss of Revis. It makes the fan base look like clowns.

Really? Because people think the Pats will be alright it is making the fan base look like clowns?

Then again you are the guy that is stopping short of saying there could be an AFC North situation this year and lolphins, jests, and jills all get into the playoffs with how much you are pimping all 3 on here since FA started.

They're not jealous of the fan base. You can trust me on this one.
not sure I understand your point?

They want what we got. They jealous of us and it slants any commentary they may have.

I think the people overselling his loss look like whiney clowns if you ask me.

We made it to 3 AFCCGs in a row without Revis, including a SB. He's an amazing player, there is no debating that even for a second.. and like I said at the very beginning of the year, he's a mercenary and wanted to go back to the Jets.. he's gone...its time to move on. .

And its still conceivable that you can weaken your secondary but make your overall team stronger by strengthening other areas with multiple players for the money you didn't spend on Revis.. that's why you put a value on players... its the value that you feel they're worth for the skill set they bring vs the risk of their contract compared to what you could do with that money elsewhere once it goes over a certain amount.

BB felt that he went beyond that value, to where that amount of money could be better spent elsewhere to make the team as a whole better.

Revis wanted to be a Jet, Woody wanted him to be a Jet, and now he's a Jet.. so the Pats have moved on and are making moves to improve their roster and try to repeat...

It's perfectly reasonable that there are fans, like me, that don't feel it productive or healthy to just dwell on the fact that Revis wasn't resigned and talk about how we're a doomed franchise now that will never sniff a SB again because of ONE man. That's not the Patriots philosophy or culture.. they couldn't get it done.. they used Revis and Revis used them.. it resulted in a FOURTH super bowl title.. now he's gone so its time to focus our attention forward, not back.

There is a reason that your front windshield of your car is substantially larger than your rear view mirror... because what's infront of you is more important than what is behind you.

Revis is gone and that was a drag, but there is plenty to be excited and happy about with these new additions that the Patriots are signing with that extra money.

Thank you for serving as an example and making my point.

Bill has made a decision to strengthen all around the team, rather than using close to 15% of the cap space on one elite CB who is coming up to 30. Tough decision, but I wouldn't go questioning a man who has made such an impact on our franchise

We can't get a like for like replacement for Revis, as he is the best there is. But we can change the team in other areas, making us beasts.

CB needs to be looked at, but we aren't going to be coming 4th in the AFC East because Revis has gone!

It was a good ride though!

Why do you Think that ? Also our corners ?

I think if you look back at who played on D in the SB you would agree.

By September of 2015 it'll be even better.

They want their teams to be like the Patriots. They don't want to be as ridiculous as the fan base has become.

I'll leave it at that.

If you take a general sampling, every fanbase thinks every other fanbase is ridiculous. I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it.

Chicken and Egg. If they got what we got they would have an equal amount of blind faith and at times seem ridiculous. They jealous of what we have and want to believe Revis ends it all but most here know BB will find a way.

Lol oh OK I'm so sorry, let me speak your language..

"Omg the Pats are so stupid for not signing revis!! They should have given him any amount of money he wanted, he's a HoF talent and now the Patriots are going to suck and not be able to beat anyone anymore without him! !

you could just throw 10 other random clowns out there on the field with Revis and they would He amazing!!! Defense isn't played by 11 players, it's just 1 guy like in the NBA!

Belichick is an IDIOT, why doesnt Kraft hire me to coach and GM this team, I know what I'm doing compared to that neanderthal wearing a hoodie on the sideline every Sunday!

The Patriots will have 500 pts a game scored against them now, we'll never be able to compete with the other AFC teams without Revis at CB!

Man being a fan of this team sucks! they aren't committed to winning and just don't care! "

How's that? Probably not doom and gloom enough for some people to understand.

Have fun drowning in your no Darell Revis sarrows for the rest of the off season, I'll continue to follow the team, be grateful for the unprecedented level of success that I've been priveleged enough to watch and enjoy the moves that they're making to try and get us back to the SB.

I really don't understand the hype around Bush. I would have rather had Helu. If not him, there are some pretty decent options that are available in the draft.
Name recognition.

Revis is a planet player. They are rare, even at the very top of the draft.

Could not agree more. You can't act like your team just landed the best defensive player of all time on his way in (do you remeber this board when the news broke?!) and then downplay the loss when he leaves. Completely absurd.

Thanks for the scientific analysis. We should just concede the AFC East because Revis is gone, got it!

No one is downplaying how good Revis is.. but there are a few acting like he was the sole reason for our success.

They were a SB caliber team before Revis, they'll be a SB caliber team after Revis.

Just because some people don't want to go into melt down mode over losing a guy we had for 1 year, doesn't mean they're downplaying the loss.

If upfront I think that Jones, Ninkovich, and Sheard is better than what we had in 2011. But 2011 Vince was far ahead of anything we have now, even with if we had brought Vince back. But in all, an improved front 4. Then at Linebacker we now have Hightower, Collins, and Mayo. That's also a large improvent over Mayo, Spikes, Ninkovich. Much more speed in this linebacker unit.

Our secondary still has some of the same members. But they are used at stuff they are much better at. If we start at corner I think that Dennard is better than what we had in 2011. Arrington has found his place in the slot where he is much better than the outside spot he had in 2011. Then we have either Ryan or Butler for the second outside corner spot. they are probably better than Antwaun Molden or Sterling Moore in 2011. So upgraded corners. The biggest improvement in the secondary is that we actually have a very, very good deep safety in McCourty, which makes a big difference. If I remember correctly Chung had some nice moments in 2011. So I'll call that even if he can continue to play as the strong, more in the box, type of safety.

So all in all I think this is a much faster and more athletic defense than we had in 2011, with much better players at some key spots. Like Linebackers, safety and end.

So thinking the Pats will be alright and make the playoffs is downplaying losing him? Same coach and QB got a historically bad secondary to within one catch with a severely injured Gronk of winning a SB.

Pats DL for the playoffs that year

Wilfork
Mark Anderson
Kyle Love
Brandon Deaderick
Gerard Warren
Shaun Ellis
Ron Brace

Andre Carter the best DE that year missed the playoffs.

People talk about that secondary but outside of Wilfork that DL was subpar and BB somehow managed to get 10 sack seasons from Carter and Anderson which was a nice story but Andre Carter was at the end of his career and Anderson played hasn't played in the league since mid-2012

That entire defense outside of like 3 players was a turd. What we have now is a huge upgrade from that years and our offense is just as good. We'll be fine, but we do need to upgrade our OL, DT and CB bad.

Name recognition.

I actually think the name recognition works against Bush at times. He never lived up to the hype, at all, but he's actually been a productive back. More productive than anybody else we've been mentioning for the position.

Pats averaged 36 PPG in the playoffs and dropped 30-40 points on some excellent defenses during the regular season. Revis was exceptional for us last season and is one of the best CBs of all time, but the offense put us in a position to win the SB last year, where an undrafted rookie (not all-pro CB Revis) sealed the deal.

The offense looks like it will be even better this year.

Pats will be fine.
