Belichick Derangement Syndrome (BDS)

Entire league has BDS and there's no cure in sight.
These billionaire owners are more petty than the middle school crowd.
Let the ass kickings continue for 2015/16!
what would be great is if we played medicore for the first part of the season and maybe even throw in a bad game (preferably on a Sunday night) then when people start to overlook us, we'll pick it up, win the division, first-round bye, Super Bowl and VICTORY!

**** that, 19-0 son.

BB gets free rent in the brain of the other 31 coaches/GM.. perhaps "BB envy" is a more appropo term or diagnosis..

Meanwhile in the inner bowels of Gillette, Ernie Adams and his crack team of nerds are pouring over the rule book to see what else they can exploit..

I'm pretty sure that Tom Coughlin has a free penthouse suite inside BB's head, and not the other way around.

Penthouse? That's pretty rich real estate.

Maybe a ground floor with security bars, but I doubt BB gives it much thought outside of how to beat him for one game.

Coughlin's probably got the entire top mental floor, all to himself. If we're going to be ridiculous about BB, let's at least recognize the reality of Coughlin.

It's almost surreal to think that, based on three plays the Patriots ran against the Ravens in January, the league changed the rules in March. It's even harder to believe when you consider high school teams run these plays. It was never an issue before in the NFL and no one complained when the Lions or Bengals ran similar plays this year, but when New England used it in a playoff game, something had to change.
Dontcha just love it though?
Not since Bill Walsh and Paul Brown before him has a single HC changed how the game is coached in the NFL as much as BB. With all due respect to the guy whose name is on the trophy, Brown and Walsh and Belichick are the great innovators while there was probably no one better at execution and motivation than Lombardi.

Such a wonderfully apt observation from Mike Freeman in his article.

The rules were intended to create a coaching curve.

Aren't they just though?

BB's nature is far too adaptive for that. That said, for someone who dwarf's BB's abilities as a GM, he's sure got a lot of real estate in your head. :)

Do you have any other insights into what BB is thinking or mental state? Specifically with the upcoming draft?

The reality of Coughlin is that he's had tremendous success in the SB vs the Patriots and I give Coughlin credit for getting his players to peak right at the end of the season/post-season (and for keeping his team/reputation "mostly" clean in a NY media area). Heck the 2 SB wins might even get him some nods for HoF mentions and could even push him into it. But, I'm going to disagree with you (my opinion as we have no facts to go on here).
