"With the 32'd Pick of the First Round, the New England Patriots select..."

On offense I think it will be Jake Fisher or on defense I think it will be Eric Kendricks. I hope I am wrong though.

Aj Cann is the pick for me. Reliable, steady, coachable, athletic, four year starter and voted team captain. Academic honor role. Seems like a sure thing Week One starter at LG, fits our most urgent need, and likely to hold the position for a decade.

I would pile on with Cam Erving, but he won't be there at 32, and isn't worth trading up for...so that seems like a pointless dream.

Also, I vote NOT Jake Fisher. I don't understand what people see in him except pure measurables. So far as I can tell, he's got none of the intangibles that BB will expect in a first round pick.

Yeah AJ Cann's personality seems exactly what BB wants and he is a huge moose of a guy. He fills a need and we need someone like him to stop Suh, etc. He seems like the perfect fit for the Patriots as as does Cam Erving. This is why BB will not draft either; too obvious, ha, and draft someone we did not expect....

Yeah, Cann is a mighty realistic pick: a plug-and-play LG who should be able to hold down the position for years. And he's likely to still be available because (unlike Erving, Fisher, Clemmings) he's pretty much a pure LG with no positional flexibility.

Naturally, the sheer boredom of this smart, safe pick would send the board into hair-tearing fits. :)

I don't think we will be picking at 32, BB either trades down to get more picks or trades up to snag a guy he really wanted. Wouldn't be surprised if it winds up being a guy that befuddles the mediots, who then in turn say the Pats reached. If they trade up, it'll probably be a CB or WR.

I'd bet on it! By the time you get to the Pats' pick you've passed the blue chipper stage of the draft and entered a much bigger, murkier pool of 2nd tier prospects. That means any fan can find mocks where the Pats pick goes a round or more later, "proving" they "reached."

Marcus Peters. He'll slip because of off-field issues. Waynes, B. Jones and K. Johnson go before him because of that.

I hope they don't go guard @32 because I feel there is great value later in guys like marpet in the 3rd round.

I'm rooting for either CB or WR.

With the 32nd pick, the patriots

trade, there is a TRADE

The patriots have traded 32 to BUFF for their 50th and 81st picks in the 2015 draft.

I think that Cann or one of the LT's is a good alternative.

I understand that value COULD be there at CB, DT, RB, WR or ILB, or not.

So many folks are talking about Marpet as being available to the patriots in the 3rd. IMHO, those LG's expected to be able to start this year will be long gone, perhaps even by 64. 32-64 seems a good range to find our starting LG, if we don't sign Connolly or trade for someone.

Yeah, I'm leery of waiting for "guys like Marpet" after round 2, because IMO there are no "guys like Marpet." There's just him.

They will almost certainly pick Jake FISHER.

Of course they also may not.

Just a reminder, but Marpet is going from playing Div III guys to going up against the likes of Suh, Dareus, Williams, Richardson and Wilkerson. BB would have to be damn confident in his abilities to not have a Plan B ready if he drafts Marpet to be the starting LG.

That is why a guy like sheppard kicked inside to OG makes a lot of sense.

He played rot at Alabama as a two year starter and he did pretty well. With his ability to pull, he will thrive in our offense.

I do not want them to take Fisher, but when I want them take someone they don't and when I don't want them to take someone they do. I was hoping that by saying Fisher that they would take someone else.

I wouldn't be shocked if they traded back and took Marpet in the 40s. I'd be a little shocked if he was taken at 32 but not disappointed.

AJ Cann and then trade up in the second to grab Byron Jones

Sounds about right but I will take it a bit further. The Patriots will select someone we did not expect and who is a bit of a disappointment to some...but then turns out great...like Jamie Collins.

Even better there will be some high-maintenance, big, prima-donna WR who all the draftnics love and instead of taking him, the Patriots trade down and select some Jamie Collins type.
