Ainge should have traded Rondo two years ago, he messed up

As for Dallas their going to win the West. RIP San Antonio.

the get 3 "players"...3 players who suck and draft picks that will be very late round selections. meh
better than nothing. and thats what they would have got if they let him play out the year and sign with another team. how is any 1st round pick a very late pick? they are lucky they got a 1st round pick at all. rondo has already come out and said he plans to go to free agency and test the market.

i think they would have tried to move him last year until he got hurt.

Plus, the way they worked the deal, the trade generates a 13 million trade exception, which is a pretty significant asset.

If this trade helps the Smelltics get closer to a better lottery position, then I'll all for it.

Next on the block: Jeff Green.

Who would have though Jae Crowder was the best player in that trade?

Neither Crowder nor anyone else from any of the trades made by Danny will deliver us to the promised land unless
an All-Star-caliber Center is acquired via the draft. The Cs had a much, much better chance of acquiring such an
impact player if Danny had played the vets at the beginning of the season to increase their value then played the kids
after the trade deadline to give them more experience for next season, the result of such moves likely becoming fewer
wins & a trip to the lottery instead of a trip to the playoffs. But that would've been OK, because as currently constructed
this roster is nowhere nearly ready to seriously compete against Cleveland and the West anyway.
Unfortunately, Danny chose short-term, temporary good fortune and did not choose a better way to restore long-term,
more permanent success - by attempting to acquire as much high-end talent as possible, by whatever means necessary.

I don't follow the NBA closely, so this may be a stupid question, but would the Celts be in the running for somebody like Marc Gasol?

That's ok, those Nets picks coming up are going to be very low. The Nets are headed to the bottom and the Celts get their #1 next year, the right to swap #1s with the the year after, and their #1 the year after THAT. I'd love to see them go after Greg Monroe in the off season though.

Pretty amusing how Dallas has gone into the toilet since picking up Rondo eh? :)

This team was never, ever going to be bad enough to get a really good lottery spot this year. Not with Stevens coaching, and not with the Sixer and the Knicks around. Far better to play a ton of what were, in effect, playoffs games coming down the stretch and get some really experience at executing under pressure. They have picks coming up in the next couple of years that will be excellent. The draft doesn't seem that strong this year anyway.

Rondo's a cancer. They were better off without him, and so are the Celtics. I've been trying to tell you guys since 2010 that he's wildly overrated and isn't talented enough to be the mega douchebag that he is. Looks like it's sinking in now that he's gone and the honeymoon is over.

I saw a stat...this season, Rondo has taken 78 free throws and made 45 percent of them. Thomas has taken 348 free throws and made 87 percent of them. Someone who can get to the line at will in the fourth quarter and MAKE HIS DAMN shots is worth more than all of Rondo's spectacular passing.

seriously what the hell are you talking about? they have first rd picks coming out there ass. they have the nets first round picks the next two or three years. getting in the lotto doesnt guarantee you a top three pick. just look at the times the celtics have been in the lotto. you couldnt be more wrong if you tried. danny ainge is doing a awesome job.
steph curry was taken 7th in the 1st rd btw. greg oden was the first player taken in the draft the year he came out and he was a complete bust. you being down on the green blows my mind. when you look at what the celtics have done this year with all the trades and movment its a miracle they are were they are. they have gone 26 and 12 give or take 1 maybe 2 since feb 1st. they have played great on the rd and they have beaten very good teams.

Do you guys have someone that can take a shot at LeBron's ankles during this series? That would make for great viewing.

Marcus Smart might take a shot at his balls. He has some experience.
