Also interesting quote from Maroney about Chad Jackson and how they are running together. Maybe Jackson will be back for the start of the season, make it interesting to figure out the WR roster.

Yup, that bit on Jackson was promising. It's been a while since we've had an update on him, but I think the "best case scenario" schedule had him running by June, and its June, and he's running, so I'd say he's on track.

I still think they may PUP Jackson....I would hate that BM would be though..with Cjad that might be what is needed..

The odds of Meriweather being healthy for camp are very, very good. His hamstring thing happened about a month earlier than Jackson's did - barring a torn hamstring he'll be just fine.

I hope you are right, would like to see #37 have one good final season, and teach this kid how to act on and off the field...

Do players usually make a full recovery from an injury like Jackson's, or are we looking at a situation where he may come back having lost a step?

Jackson's knee injury wasn't anywhere as severe as Rodney's. Assuming he is working hard at his rehab and following trainer instructions to a T, it seems unlikely he will lose any speed or quickness.

If Jackson gets healthy and performs to his potential, it's going to
be tough for BB to pick the 5 or 6 recievers for the roster.
I like Caldwell and Gaffney was showing something, too but one or both might not make the team, I guess.
Then again, with the injuries we seem to get to WR, it might just work out.

It might've been Javon Walker...but I remember a recent player with a torn ACL claimed he actually came back faster.

It is possible. It's like shortening a rubber band. It'll now snap with more energy than before (in both senses). Surgery has come a LONG way. He's very young (still 21/22), younger than most rookies this year. That is the best case scenario. If anything, these tribulations will serve to remind him how important banal activities like stretching are...

I don't remember Jackson getting taken off the field nor did it get any coverage at all so how bad could his injury be?

Braylon Edwards had his surgery around the same time as Jackson (a year earlier) and was back for opening day. Edwards got hurt in December but had more swelling than Jackson so his surgery was delayed to the point that their surgeries were about the same time of the year. The difference, of course, is that we don't really need Jackson for this year.

The trainers and coaches better be on the same page about Meriweather's injury, as well as Brandon needs to be honest about where he is at. When Brandon thinks he is 100%, he better take another 2 weeks off before hitting the field hard. Hamstring injuries are tricky like that. They feel a lot better and then you hit the field and re-injure yourself on the first play.

At best, Brandon will compensate in his running style for the pain/tightness in his hamstring and be okay, but even then, he will probably tweak another muscle group or even his upper body.

I hate hamstring injuries and quad injuries.

I second that. Not only do I want to see Meriweather play, but I want to see him develop while Rodney's still out there too.

Lose what step? I like CJ and I have high hopes for him still, but I don't think he has much of a step to lose. So far his major gains seem to be learning the system/plays. If he takes the field this year, and I assume he will at some point,he's a rookie all over again.

So... where does CJ stand if healthy enough to compete?

I mean, Moss, Welker, Stallworth, that's your starting 3 right there... and then there's Caldwell & Gaffney, both of whom showed a lot more than I would have expected from them. And Troy supposedly still has a place on this team if he wants it... and let's not forget K. Washington, also added in the off season.

Good Lord, how many WRs are we gonna keep?

if hes healthy and knows the playbook..id say hes better than Stallworth and anyone behind. His talent is very good..and his upside is huge.

He was referring to his speed.
