BOTTOM LINE
By almost all accounts, the Razor is a gorgeous facility, sporting great sightlines -- even while getting food, comfortable seats and, most important, a great team. But it comes at a high price. And though most fans are willing to swallow the $40 parking and $10 McDonald's meals and $90 tickets in return for a privately-financed stadium (For which Kraft deserves praise in this era), the fact that not a single money-making opportunity isn't maximized poses a risk once Bill Belichick and Tom Brady depart. This isn't to say Patriots fans don't appreciate all Kraft has done to improve the team and the game-day experience, but some "wish it didn't cost $600 to bring a family of four to a game." From the prices to a horrific commute that puts one in for "an 8-9 hour day depending on your distance from the stadium," fans aren't cut a break on anything. That isn't much of an issue when you are competing for Super Bowl trophies each season, but when the good times on the field fade, so too will the warmth in the fans' hearts.

Yay, I've been to the top 3 (Green Bay, Pittsburgh, and Cleveland). Green Bay was awesome, nothing special about Pittsburgh and Cleveland.

Hard to disagree with much of that. But for me, escaping the wife and chillins' for a day would still be enough reason for me to attend the games. :)

Has anyone ever been to Foxboro when there is no game? Ghost town.

I was actually in the area for this weekend's game and stopped in at what was once the End Zone Sports Bar for a beer and burger during the 1 p.m. games. I think it was me, the owners and the bartender.

This guy should try and go to a red-sox game who by the way get close to a hundred of them a year at home and then he would see the patriots as a bargin parking and all. But really is there anywhere in this country anymore were you can bring a family to a major sporting event and not spend close to a weeks salary?

you don't get $6 beers at the Superdome and they certainly aren't 24 oz. you get a 16 oz beer for $7. Shoddy research.

my one gripe with Gillette is the end zone video screens. for whatever reason, that seems to be the only thing where Kraft spared some expense. Philadelphia, Seattle, and a few other newer Stadiums have massive, gigantic video screens compared to ours. This has never made sense to me.

I also wish they did a better job with out of town scores. they have those ticker screens that run the length of the stands, why not run out of town scores there throughout the game interrupted frequently by whatever ads they need to run? right now they run out of town scores like 3-4 times per game during TV timeouts. and only on the one video screen. so if you are sitting opposite the lighthouse you can't even see.

Everyone goes to Funway Cafe. That place tends to be more crowded on weekends.

No kidding, I grew up in Sharon (next town over from Foxboro), it's a very, very boring region.

I live in Buffalo where people seem concerned the Bills won't be able to draw fans for 8 games at $65 a pop.

Then I see the Sabres selling out 40 games at $70 a pop.

Somehow I don't think Kraft has anything to worry about. 8 games is easy.

I stayed in Sharon during training camp this year and ate at Bickford's, I think that's what it's called. I think I spent most of my time either at the stadium, or in the city, pr in Salem. There was just nothing to do in the Sharon-Foxboro-Norwood area.
