Re: 2007 Patriots best ever?(good, accurate article)

Idiot, Once the Patriots dispose of the Giants that will be 9, I said 9 wins against playoff teams while niners were only 7-1 against playoff teams and before you throw the Dolphin and Jets remember I could *****slap you with New Orleans, Atlanta and Tampa Bay. Your team had agreat run and guess what we appreciated them, So thanks for the #7 draft choice and sit back and enjoy the ride.

And the Niners Opponent's winning percentage was .457 lol

Re: 2007 Patriots best ever?(good, accurate article)

All im saying is that your schedule was ridulously easy along with your division. Unlike the 1984 49ers, who played in a tough division

Wow you should use facts before you respond.

SOS for the 49ers 106-148-2 take out the 49ers record you go to 105-133-2

SOS for the Pats 120-136 take out the Pats record and you have a 120-120.

The 84 49ers are not even the greatest 49er team of all time.

I like the '89 49ers more. That team had the most dominant postseason ever.

Re: 2007 Patriots best ever?(good, accurate article)

I JUST WANT THE PATS TO BE THE BEST ON SUNDAY!!!!!!:rocker: :rocker: :rocker:

the rest is for the historians:)

(sound of game show horn blaring ....) incorrect! - would you like to go for double or nothing?

The "easy schedule" is a myth perpetuated by those attempting to tear down the Patriots rather than researching an unbiased analysis. The Pats are 9-0 against teams with winning records this year. Remove games against the Bills, Jets and Dolphins and the Patriots regular season record is still 10-0 (and the Giants' record becomes 7-6.) Check out coldhardfootballfacts.com for their opinion.

By the way, the '84 49ers were one of the best teams ever, and the 49ers of that decade were certainly one of the best dynasties of all time in my opinion. I'm not taking anything away from those great teams - I'm just saying you should open your eyes and appreciate another of the greatest teams of all time: the Patriots.

Re: 2007 Patriots best ever?(good, accurate article)

anyone have an idea of the differant starters that the patriots took to their superbwls compared to the steelers or niners??

I think the Niners were a great team/dynasty, maybe the best till the Patriots over the past seven years, and I loved to watch their offense. But like the Patriots they were helped by weak division opponents over the decade of the eighties and up until their last SuperBowl with Steve Young. Rarely was there more than one worthy opponent (usually the Rams). The Saints and Falcons were weak most of the time, though the Saints did string together some good years in the second half of the eighties. And you have to pay attention to out of division schedule as well. The 2003 Patriots are the only NFL team to go 10-0 against teams with a winning record. The 2007 Patriots are 9-0 against teams with winning records.

Re: 2007 Patriots best ever?(good, accurate article)

Whether they do or not, some people are still going to say that the 84 49ers were better or some other teams....Due to all the different situations and cercumstances(such as schedules, injuries, etc, etc., there is no telling who REALLY is the best team ever.

The 49ers might have been 16-0 if they had your schedule:rocker:

Actually this Patriots would have beaten the AFCW div champs twice the AFCS champs, the AFCN champs and the Jags playoff team and Cleveland who was 10-6, in the NFC thay beat 3 playoff teams so far. If they run the table they will be 10-0 against teams that made the playoffs or had at least 10 wins.

The 49's never had that many quality wins in a season. They were never undefeated in a season, game over.

Lets not forget that back in the 80s there were LOADS more talent then now. Unarguable.

You're a freaking moron if you think players from the 80s were more talented. Modern athletes are always improving over the generation before them. Bigger faster stronger than ever before. This is a pretty pathetic argument you're mounting here.

From the man who oringinally posted "Joe Montana is better than Tom Brady"...how ya doin bud?:D I guess I have to repeat myself for the 100th time, so here goes.

There are 3 factors that determine which team is the Best Ever in a single season. Those 3 factors are:

1. Marging of victory
2. Record
3. Strength of schedule

"If" the Patriots win the SB, they will have the greatest number of wins in a single season with the greatest margin of victory ever against one of the toughest schedules ever.

Holding all 3 of these records would make them the best ever beyond any debate. If you don't agree with the above factors, explain why.

Well, the players that are considered the greastest of all time in this sport have come from the 80's. Do the math.

Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda, but didn't.

Aye aye, sorry!

Umm what?? That is A) not true and B) the dumbest way to evaluate levels of talent in an era.

Here's a newsflash for you: there's more money, college programs, endoresements, bigger athletes, better science and more advanced coaching now. Translation: More talent in football now.

I'd really like to see your list of all time greats. The end of the 70s/early 80s was the birth of big contracts and better training methods so obviously that's when the older generations were outshined, but today they are better than back then. Give me a list of positions and I will show you that of the top five in each position, the majority did not come exclusively, or even mostly from the 80s.

I can't believe I'm even responding to this crap from a "those were the days, they just don't make em like they used to" troll.

I'd like to highlight some points to reiterate the patsfans argument:

Wow you should use facts before you respond.

What he said.

They aren't even the best team of the 80's, I'm sick of it, but the '85 Bears say whats up.

Right, records just aren't broken anymore... these manning, brady, moss, owens, and ladainian guys just plain suck and will be forgotten 15-20 years from now. what a waste of my time.

Well, the players that are considered the greastest of all time in this sport have come from the 80's. Do the math.

Oh, you're right, Tomlinson, Brady, Favre, Barry Sanders, Moss, Manning, Marvin Harrison, Owens, Marshall Faulk, Antonio Gates, Fred Taylor, Urlacher, Walter Jones, Odgen, Ray Lewis, Bettis, Steve Smith, Champ Bailey, Ty Law, Brian Dawkins, Derrick Brooks, Gilbert Brown, and Adrian Peterson (soon enough) wouldn't have compared to the players of the 80s.

What makes us pats fans look even more dumb is that the players of the 80s were clean, no steroid usage at all in the 70s, 80s, and early 90s. Wait....... Romanowski said what?

Man, you're desperate. Give it up.

we should just dump this thread. If there's an argument to be made for the 84 49ers he's not even bothering to make it anymore.
