That's just not true. There's always room to work the cap. This is particularly true if they hadn't signed McCourty. To say the Pats couldn't give money upfront actually implies the Pats don't adle the cap well.

Do the Pats get a comp pick since Revis was effectively cut, not necessarily a FA? What are the best guesses around here for a tampering pick? Swap of 2nd rounders? Sure we may deserve more but it's Goodell. For a 3rd round comp pick and a move up from 32 to 6 in the 2nd round I'm ok with this.
