The QB sneak is not a play call, it is an always-available audible for Brady to "call" by goosing the center. If no sneaks are happening, it is only because Brady isn't getting favorable reads for them.
Allen can block in ways Fleming cannot. Wham blocks, lining up in the backfield or in the slot, and blocking off of motion are just some of the things I have never seen the Pats ask a 3OT to do that TEs are regularly called on to do.
The game-plan may change week to week and I don't know...
All contracts may be submitted to judicial oversight, including contracts that say they can't be submitted to judicial oversight (binding arbitration clauses).
My employment contract could very well say I waive my right to vote and indemnify all management against damages arising from them...
The news that should be emphasized here is that a 27 year old man who stopped playing football at age 23 had the penultimate stage of CTE.
That kind of dazes me.
This would seemingly suggest Hightower will be moving inside on third downs at least, not edge rushing, as the modern example given in the article is Houston's Whitney Mercilus.
Otherwise who would the Pats be looking to use here? Flowers? That leaves them light at the 3-techs.
Calling both Lucien/Carr and Phillip Dorsett "developmental" WRs makes that word cover an awful lot of ground. (Two different posters have said this).
I think its clear that Dorsett is a bona fide NFL WR at this point. He has put up production and been on the field an awful lot of snaps.
That was pretty much what people were saying about James "Robert" White.
From one of our more august members here:
The above summarized by another prolific poster:
White was a tremendous athletic disappointment his first two years.
Incidentally I'm liking the new search feature.
Probably the only two times he's been in his office in that time period.
Adams: I was tailing some of the defense backs all day yesterday Bill and I have to say I don't like some of the body language I'm seeing from... Hold on I'm being paged.
Receptionist: Mr. Adams the DYJ film crew is here...
He looked bigger to me. I'd guess he's 225 lbs now but I wasn't sizing him or even watching him that closely. Just noted he kept popping up in an unusual position.
Deone Buchanan is a former SS that plays LB for the Cards in their starting defense at a listed 6' 220 lbs. Zach Thomas played MLB...
I'm not saying Richards is one of the best players on this roster or might not be cut tomorrow.
But hopefully people have noticed the Pats used a lot of 3-3 and 5-1 fronts in Preseason Game 3. Richards played all game and spent a lot of the day as an EOL/EDGE player in those looks. That role...
Given what he was traded for, he definitely wasn't "cut," which is what most of those posts were about.
The ones that said the Pats wouldn't carry 2 QBs... fair game.
We talk about BPA, need, and value as draft strategies, and they all seemingly overlap into each other.
I now like the word "opportunity." The Patriots draft for opportunity. What player at this draft slot has the best opportunity to contribute to the roster. Have more opportunities available...
