Pats moving some south end zone seats

I agree. Does anyone think this might get scrapped if it fields enough bad PR?
Yes, I do. Kraft is savvy enough to recognize that plowing along with an idea relentlessly in the face of bad publicity is counterproductive. His abandonment of the Foxboro casino initiative is a larger case in point.

Don't like the idea because the noise challenged stadium will get even quieter.

As to those displaced, it would be Kraft's modus operandi to put them first in choice of ST seat upgrade list. Every year as inevitably some folks give up their seats, greatest longevity ST holders wishing another location get 1st dibs.

The fans who lose those seats will be compensated by the team and may even be happier with the compensation. And don't forget Bob Kraft use to sit in those end zone aluminum bleachers before he became owner. There were no "seats".
You're just saying this without any evidence so that you can feel better about the Krafts better and delude everyone into thinking the Patriots would never treat an average fan unfairly.

According to the news report, this guy is moving up 20+ rows further away from the field, he will be in the end zone corner instead of the end zone, he is moving to a more expensive section, and in return he will get free parking for a year. I don't blame him for being pissed off.

The Kraft family a great ownership group. I love what they have done for this team and for the region. But that does nothing to change the fact that a lot of people are being really screwed by this.

It's ironic because the article states they are planning this lounge area because of season ticket holder response to a survey.
Something tells me the survey said:

Would you be interested in a lounge to go to which is less expensive than the club seats lounge?

I doubt it said:

Would you be interested in a lounge to go to which is less expensive than the club seats lounge created at the expense of dislocating 1,500 current seats in the first 20 rows of the south end zone?

I sit in section 122 and just found out today that we are being displaced. I can't beleive that Kraft is doing this too the loyal fans who have been through the worst and still supported the team. I can't wait when the Brady error ends and see the ticket holders leave in droves, meanwhile he just pissed off several thousand of the most loyal fans!!! Screw you, Krafty Bob!!!

I wonder how Mr. Kraft would feel if he was told 40 years ago that he had to change seats to accommodate a social media zone.

If anyone being displaced wants to pick a day and picket at the stadium, i'm in!!

It's evident that Mr. Kraft values the dollar more than the teams success. Seattle has the loudest stadium in the league and are rewarded with a Super Bowl trophy. I doubt they have a fan zone because they would rather have in-game advantage rather than make a few more bucks.

You know, when you write something so ill-informed in the age of easy internet fact-checking, you simply leave yourself open to ridicule:

http://www.centurylinkfield.com/stadium-facts/

"Financing
  • Cost to public: $300 million
  • Cost to Seahawks owner, Paul G. Allen: $130 million, plus cost overruns"
------
Wanna compare THAT to the cost ratio public-Kraft family for Gillette Stadium????
-------
More from the Century Link Stadium website:

"Suites
--------

Oh yeah, and then there's this from the Seahawks' website:

-------

---------

......and then this....

Finally, "Homeland Defense", there is the piece de resistance! Yup! PSLs!!!!!! Something that 'money grubbing Kraft' refused to do.

So how much MORE ignorance would you like to spread on this subject?

The Brady "error"?

oh wait...you're being sarcastic, right?...or you really ARE as dumb as Paulie Wallnuts....

Been a season ticket holder for 20 years. Love what the Krafts have done to be competitive year in and out. But eventually Greed does you in. Calls us share holders in his letters to us. Displacing 1500 share holders (I'm not one of them), is pretty lame. So you can sell another product. A fan lounge in the end zone. Browns had the Dawg Pound. We will have the pink hat fan lounge. And most of those pink hats are men

Yeah, i'm sure krafty bob doesn't make any money off of the stadium. He didn't go with PSLs because he knows most fans would not go for it. They only reason he has been adding to the stadium is he gets a break on revenue sharing if he re-invest into the stadium.

Joker - Grow up...you seem like a liberal moonbat english major! Sounds like your the perfect customer to fill the new wine and cheese section.

Hey we get you are pissed but come on enough with the bad mouthing. Its absolutely not fair to you or the other 1499 so hopefully this gets moved to another part of the stadium and everything is fine.

Relax. At least you have tickets while some of us have been waiting since 02.

And I'm with the guy that said you want to pack in as many screaming drunks in that area of the stadium as possible. Having a social media centric lounge in that end doesn't seem very conducive to that idea. IF fans are displaced because of it, it's even worse. I haven't been to Gillette in a few years, but is there not another area that they could have built this lounge?

Again, let's wait for the other shoe to drop on this thing. At first blush it looks like a lousy move but it doesn't happen 'til next year and the Krafts are very sensitive to bad PR. The news report seemed a bit premature, especially since Jonathan K. (or Bob) didn't respond on camera and the paraphrased quote from Stacey James didn't say much. (BTW, free parking is a $400 value, nothing to sneeze at.)

My concern as a fan is a reduction in the noise level from that end zone minus however many voices are moved.

This is a pretty significant chunk of that section of the stadium. This cannot be good for generating more noise down on that end of the field. How could the Patriots think is a good thing for the team?

Some "fans" don't know how lucky they are to have an owner like Bob Kraft. Maybe they were happy Billy Sullivan and Victor Kiam, if they were either alive or out of diapers back then.

we need a double like button. You hit it right on the head. I remember sitting in the metal bleacher seats with a stadium full of drunk rowdy fans...we rarely won. Kraft has done unreal things since he bought the team. Yes, he is out to make money...but we have been winners ever since he bought the team and i kinda like that

Clearly, you weren't an English major. Most of us learned in grade 2 that English needs to be capitalized and that "you're" is the proper contraction for "you are", not "your." Keep trying, Paulie...
