Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

lol Poe's numbers are ridiculous. This is the second coming of Haloti Ngata.

Also, looking at Coples combination of speed and size he's looking more and more like Justin Tuck every day.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

he's the top DT right now

Dont jump the fences just because a good 40 time. Its like people jumping the Hill bandwagon yesterday. Of course its good but its still just one factor.

Still impressive, I agree.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Outside of Luck and Griffin, the defensive players of this draft have made the crop of offensive players look like **** and we haven't even seen the CBs times yet which are supposed to be ridiculous.

Did you watch the WR's yesterday? They had some great performances.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Don't tell patsdeoer but Wolfe lacked explosion and looked slow in the first 10

LOL the 40 yard dash is probably the most overrated of all drills.

I'll take a football player who can get sacks over athletes who cant anytime.

With WRs I felt like it was questionably skilled players reporting good speed and talented players reporting mediocre to crap speed. On the defensive side confirmed beasts are just confirming more.

Fair enough

Its a little hyped yes. I like his stats this season though. Alot of TFLs. I am keeping an eye on him through these drills.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

What are peoples thoughts on Jonathan Massaquoi? Only 6'2" but has 34" arms.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

NFLN refusing to let me watch Travian Robertson's runs.

I'm intrigued. He's a little shorter than ideal but he has really long arms. He's got big time pass rush potential but I think he is still a little raw. I wan't to see him in the positional drills to see how he moves laterally.

I didn't say anything about the 40.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

The whole Combine is just another input to the entire process. If, as advertised, Stephen Hill runs a sub 4.4 (as he did yesterday), then the scouts have to go back and look at the tape again. Hill is hard to judge coming out of an option offense.

Can he run good routes? Did he drop alot of passes that were thrown to him? How good was his option QB at throwing? Was he double covered? Did he have to face man, press coverage? Did he have trouble getting of the line of scrimmage against tight coverage? How was his competition?

Dontari Poe runs, jumps and lifts lights out! How was he on game day?

They call this the Gym Short Olympics for a reason. No one ever won a game in their gym shorts! Do they have potential ... yes ... do some of these guys need more work ... yes have red flags been raised on others ... yes. It's all part of the process!

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

When I did my original mock I couldn't decide whether we take a guy like Chase Minnifield or Andre Branch at #31. I seriously went back and forth for about 15 minutes but decided on Minnifield because I thought Branch might make it to the late 2nd still. Well, I doubt that happens anymore. I love his combination of size, length and speed. Seems like the perfect OLB for our system. I'd be perfectly happy with him at #31.

Nick Perry and Whitney Mercilus ran well too. 4.50 for Perry with 1 39inch vertical. That's an athlete. And, he can play too.

LOL

Ronnell Lewis looks like he should be in a 1980's Olivia Newton John video.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

McClellin is impressing me.

Perry seems like a good fit for a 1-gap 3-4 like the Chargers run. Yesterday he says he wants have his hand in the dirt and sack the QB. Seems like the type of player who covets sacks because thats where the $$ is at.
