OT: Hernandez indicted in double Homicide back in 2012

The most cap relief I expect from Aaron Hernandez is $4,466,800 and I will not be surprised to see Brady retire before the Pats receive it. $4,466,800 = $3.250,000 final installment of signing bonus plus $1,216,800 (the total grievance amount that I think hit the 2013 cap).
I would have thought we would get the $3.25M now as it's unpaid and would then get hit with it later if we end up having to pay it. But I have no idea about these things that's just how it seems logically. We're done with the negatives on the cap, though, so I can live with it either way as long as he stays locked up.

There was no need to bring down Tebow and drag his name through the mud. Tim will continue to be a huge success in life regardless if he ever gets to play in the nfl again. Overall he is a wonderful human being.

I still have a AH and gronk signed photo framed in my room celebrating a TD together. Wonder if it will be worth anything one day..probably not.

Is the following line what you are referring to as "dragging his name through the mud?"

Aaron Hernandez commands attention in Gainesville
Plenty of league insiders think that the best tight end prospect from the University of Florida is Tim Tebow.

Aaron Hernandez might have something to say about that.

I don't think anyone then or now is saying anything like what you think they are saying.

Or was it that I made a smiley face before I linked the article?

The only thing thats being dragged through the mud (or at least attempted) is the hypocrites in the media that are stating they knew all about Hernandez's propensity for violence all along (none of them did that I can find).

Do you disagree with Rosenthal that Hernandez in fact did not make a better TE than Tebow never did?

This guy has been dead to me since the day he got arrested. Couldn't care any less what happens to him at this point.

Who is dragging Tim Tebow’s name through the mud?

Hey Tim glad to have you here on board. I was rooting for you to make the roster, seriously.

Hope to see you in NFL again.

The $3.25M is part of the grievance which I expect will take years to settle.
I'm sure you're right. However logic would suggest that the NFLPA would drop the grievance for someone indicted for 3 murders. But, I know, with lawyers what I consider logical would go out the window. Like I said, I'd love to get the cap money back but I'm fine with just being past this horrible incident.

stopped reading her after she continued to eulogise Lance Armstrong long after it was plainly evident he was cheating.
Eulogized? Didn't know Armstrong was dead. He is a despicable phony, but that doesn't mean everything Jenkins writes is rubbish. It isn't. She's very often right on the money, as she is in the Hernandez piece. Try reading it.

More charges to come?
Attempted murder of his buddy down in Florida whose eye he shot off? Another silence "someone in the know" episode?
And what about the incident at U of Florida which involved the Pouncy's. It's not like AHern fit the description or anything...lol

You have been posting here long enough to show us the posts where you objected them taking him and objected to them giving him a new deal, lets see them, or was this just another lame attempt to take a shot at the Patriots when something goes wrong?

Actually I thought those are reasonable questions on possible forthcoming charges. The guy he allegedly shot in FL occurred after his being re-signed by the Patriots.

What does him being drafted or extended have to do with what Borg said, there is a very good possibility that additional charges will be forthcoming against Hernandez. He is still a person of interest in the drive in Florida back when he was a freshman in college, the Bradley shooting in 2013, and his involvement with interstate gun running.

Hernandez is the biggest mistake in the history of this franchise and any team in NFL history, and if you cannot recognize that, I would have to question your judgment.

I agree; he shot Alexander Bradley who was his former body guard/assistant, Bradley is in jail currently for shooting up a bar the night of the Super Bowl back in February. He was with Hernandez the night of the drive by shooting and I would assume is likely to be charged as well with his participation in the shooting. Bradley so far has adhered to street code and not said anything to authorities about Hernandez shooting him but he did file the civil compliant so that implies a lack of loyalty to Hernandez now. If I had to guess, Bradley would end up being the one that they flip and he will turn states evidence.

The Patriots will not see any actual money returned to them, and the victims will see very little in the civil cases, given the charges and trials Hernandez faces over the next two seasons he is likely to spend at least $10M on his defense and have very little if anything left to payout.

The good news is that this whole murder thing does not appear to be bringing Aaron down.

This is by far the biggest disgrace in Pats history. I could care less about what the Pats can recover, because that is so far in the future before the dust settles. The Patriots Way that I'm very proud of took a bullet(no pun intended). We harbored a mass murderer. Did we know he was murdering. Absolutely not. But we sure as hell knew who he was hanging out with. Gang ties. We looked the other way for production base only. Ala Aldon Smith with SF. We have learned a huge lesson, and I am sure it will not happen again. This headline makes the pride of being a Pats fan make me want to hang my head, not how this affects the salary cap.

Initially I was very critical of Pats and their security guy for not checking out AH better before the new contract and for the front office not having a viable behavior clause in the contract. I stand by the front office criticism but as to security I'm just not clear on how an effective sociopath like AH could be detected. It's not practical and probably an invasion of privacy to follow players around late at night on the off season.
